Reale Avintia Academy 77 Moto3 – GP of Japan – Twin Ring Motegi
The Japanese Gran Prix finished before expected for Vicente Pérez, and the young Spanish rider was not able to celebrate his 21st birthday with a good result. Reale Avintia Academy 77 rider did a good start from 14th place of the grid. But, in the second lap he arrived too fast into turn 11 and we couldn’t stop the bike. Pérez crashed out and hit Niccolo Antonelli and both riders went to the medical centre after the crash.
It was a shame because, on his first visit to the Twin Ring Motegi, the Spanish rider was performing really well and today had a big change to score more championship points.
Next round of Moto3 World Championship, the Australian Grand Prix, will be held at Phillip Island circuit from October 26th to 28th.
“I did a good start and I was with the group. In the first lap I decided to be calm and wait. But I suddenly saw a gap with the frontrunners and, I pushed more because the rider in front was slowing me a bit and I overtook him by slipstream. I’ve brake at my reference point, but I was much faster and I couldn’t stop the bike. I’ve thrown Antonelli and I want to send him my best wishes. I hope he has nothing serious and to see him back oin his bike in Australia. It’s been a bit bittersweet birthday, but this is part of racing.”
