Reale Avintia Academy 77 Moto3 – GP of Australia – Phillip Island

Reale Avintia Academy 77 rider Vicente Pérez started the race from the last spot of the grid, due to a penalty imposed by Race Direction at the last race in Japan. The 21-year-old Valencian rider was determined to recover and in just four laps, he overtook eight rivals.

But he also made a jump start and got another sanction from Race Direction, a Ride Through that he had to complete on lap five. He was back on the track in last position and, although all his expectations were finished by the time, he focused on finishing the race and keeping a decent pace in order to learn as much as possible and to collect some valuable information for the team. He finished the race in 20th place.

The most important thing today was that following two mistakes in a row, Vicente learned his lessons. Next week, he will have another opportunity to show his talent at the Sepang International Circuit, home of the Malaysian Grand Prix from November 2nd to 4th.

“The race went bad from the beginning. I thought I had a good pace and I started to recover right from the first lap, but I jumped the start and they gave me a ride through penalty. I had no options after that so I just tried to finish the race and ride my bike as fast as possible. I want to apologize to the team because they always work very hard and in the last two races we had no results. I hope I can fix this in Malaysia. I have been told that Sepang is a very wide track where it is difficult to find the right lines, but I hope to learn fast with the help of my team.”
