Reale Avintia Academy 77 – GP of Catalunya – Circuit of Barcelona-Catalunya

The riders of Reale Avintia Academy Team experienced a sad weekend at the Catalunya Grand Prix, even though they were glad to race and to honour the memory of Andreas Pérez.
Livio Loi made a great recovery from the last place of the grid and finished in 15th position, scoring one championship point.

The Belgian rider had a good start and recovered eight positions on the first few laps. He continued to fight until the end and crossed the chequered flag within the Top 15. Loi wants to improve even more at the next round, the Dutch TT, that will take place from June 29 to July 1 at the legendary Assen circuit.
After yesterday’s crash in qualifying, Vicente Pérez was declared not fit to race by the Circuit doctors. He tried to ride in the warm-up practice, but he had too much pain in his ribs.

Reale Avintia Academy and the riders want to thank all the people that honoured Andreas Pérez and his family throughout the weekend of the Grand Prix of Catalunya. The entire MotoGP paddock thought of Andreas in an emotional minute of silence. His flag was on display on the Moto3 podium with Enea Bastianini, Marco Bezzecchi and Gabriel Rodrigo.

“After a difficult weekend, we must be happy with this point. I want to dedicate it to Andreas, although it is not the result I dreamed of. I had a good start, but with so much distance to the front runners it is difficult to catch up. I’ve been trying to stay ahead of the second group, to push and to get away from them. I think that this morning we went in the right direction with the set-up. Now we have to continue like this so we can be even stronger at Assen.”
