Reale Avintia Academy – Dutch GP – Assen circuit
The first day of practice for the Dutch GP went very well for Reale Avintia Academa rider Livio Loi. The young talent from Belgium made a step in the right direction with the set-up of his Moto3 KTM and felt much comfortable riding the bike. Livio finished the free practice sessions on Friday in 27th position with a best lap time of 1’44.235, just 1.5s behind the fastest guy on the track. On Saturday, he hopes to make another step and to improve his grid position for the race on Sunday.
Apart from the revised set-up of his bike, Loi also enjoys the feeling of being “at home”. Assen is the circuit closest to Belgium and Livio can count on thousands of Belgian fans that come to the country next door in order to support their riders.
“I really think that we made a step forward today and that we are on the right track. I hope that we can continue this way and that I can make another little step tomorrow. I missed out on my chance to do a better lap time on the last two laps of the second free practice session. I went out with fresh tyres, but I got caught up in a big group of riders and there was a lot of traffic, otherwise I could have done much better. Tomorrow, we will be stronger. I am sure we can fight for a good qualifying result.”
