Reale Avintia Academy 77 Moto3 – GP of Australia – Phillip Island

Reale Avintia Academy 77 rider Vicente Pérez finished 16th at his first day of practice for the Australian Grand Prix and fell in love with “awesome” Phillip Island. The Spanish rider experienced ever-changing weather conditions, with rain in the morning, then the sun breaking through at midday, a drying track and, in the afternoon, sunny and warmer conditions in FP2. He was able to take a step forward with the set-up of his KTM RC250R and he finished the day less than one second behind the fastest rider.

Tomorrow is qualifying day and, Pérez, hopes to keep improving to close the gap with the front runners and get the best possible grid spot for the race.

The Moto3 action will start with FP3 at 10:00am local time. Qualifying is scheduled for 1pm local time.

“It was a positive first day and I made a big step in the afternoon session riding by myself. Tomorrow we must keep this line to find more improvements and get the best out of qualifying, because due to the sanction of Japan, I’ll lose six grid positions on Sunday. So it will be important to be closer to the front. I love this circuit, for me it is the best one in the calendar. It’s just awesome, which lots of fast turns, which is perfect for my riding style. I want to say thanks to my team, because once again they did a superb job helping me to learn as fast as possible.”
