The Reale Avintia Moto3 and Carlos Tatay have closed a positive San Marino Grand Prix managing to finish for the second time this season in the points zone thanks to a hard-fought 15th position.

In spite of being a race with some crashes, Carlos Tatay got a great start that allowed him to climb up five positions in the first lap. Thanks to his great pace, the Spanish rider has managed to stay in an extensive leading group with more than seventeen riders and has finally managed to enter to the TOP-15 after a great management, closing a very positive weekend for him, which has gone from less to more.

With no time to rest, the Reale Avintia Moto3 will face next week the second consecutive San Marino Grand Prix at the same Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

“I’m very satisfied with today’s race, I’m even happy because we held on in the front group and finished just two seconds behind the first one. For next week we know where to improve and we will take advantage of this second opportunity. We will continue to work on this line and I am sure the results will come”.

Avintia Esponsorama Racing finished the San Marino Grand Prix race at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli with Eric Granado and Xavi Cardelús in 10th and 14th position respectively.

Despite the fact that Eric Granado’s race was conditioned by the penalty he received during the E-Pole, he has been able to complete an insane comeback. In the first lap the Brazilian rider was able to recover up five positions, but due to the few laps offered by the races in this category, finally Granado could not pass from the 10th position, adding six points very hard fought.

Xavi Cardelús has closed a weekend where he has managed to go from less to more and take a step forward. In spite of losing three positions during the initial lap, the Andorran rider has managed to move up in the classification managing to add two important points after crossing the finish line in 14th place.

Next week the second San Marino Grand Prix will be held at the same Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, where Avintia Esponsorama Racing will fight to return to the positions it deserves.

“I already knew the race would be very difficult when I started last. I couldn’t do much in such a short race, but I did what I could. The race got a little complicated at the end, I found a group that slowed me down by not being able to overtake, but I preferred to save points and not take risks. I’m far from where I would like to be, I know this is not my position, but now it’s time to think about the next weekend”.

“Bittersweet taste as the two mistakes I made in the first few laps have really hurt me. Once I was able to focus I was able I rode faster than the group in front of me, and even better than my fastest lap of the weekend. I’m happy about this and looking forward to improving next weekend”.

The Avintia Esponsorama Racing has completed the E-Pole of the San Marino Grand Prix at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli with Xavi Cardelús and Eric Granado in 13th and last position respectively.

After completing a very positive third practice in the morning finishing in second position, Eric Granado faced the third E-Pole of the season as one of the favorites. The Brazilian rider achieved the best time of the session, but after stepping on the green zone at the exit of turn 15, his lap time was cancelled and he will start tomorrow’s race from the last position.

Xavi Cardelús has managed to take a big step forward during the third free practice. In the qualifying, the Andorran rider has managed to make a good lap without making any mistakes. After setting a time of 1’44.847 and being only one tenth of the TOP-10, Cardelús will start the race in 13th place.

Tomorrow at 10:05 the race of the San Marino Grand Prix will start, where Granado will fight from the first lap to recover positions and Cardelús will fight to keep getting important points.

“The weekend was going very well, I felt comfortable with the bike and throughout the weekend we had not touched the green zone until the worst possible moment, the E-pole.”

Xavier Cardelús | 1'44.847 | P13

“Very happy with the step we have taken, in FP3 with the changes we have made, we have already noticed an improvement with a used tire. We already knew that with a new tire we would be much better, very happy with the work done by the team, I think we have achieved a competitive bike for tomorrow with which I feel very comfortable”.

Reale Avintia Moto3 rider Carlos Tatay will start the San Marino Grand Prix at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli from the eighth line of the grid after setting the 22nd time in the qualifying session.

After a very tight qualifying, the Valencian rider set a time of 1’43.595 and for only four tenths of a second, he was unable to enter to Q2. In spite of improving his time in the last attempt, Tatay has been involved in a group with many riders that has not allowed him to complete a clean lap.

Tomorrow at 11:00 the race of the San Marino Grand Prix will take place, where the Reale Avintia Moto3 and Carlos Tatay will face it with the objective of gaining positions and getting important points.

“It has been a very positive day, despite the position we have improved a lot compared to yesterday. We have found the line to follow, now is the time to continuous working and focus as much as possible for the race. Thanks to the team for the work done”.

Espononsorama Racing completed the qualifying session for the San Marino Grand Prix at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli with Johann Zarco and Tito Rabat in 10th and 17th position respectively.

Thanks to good free practices, Johann Zarco has been able to directly access Q2. Despite a small crash during FP4, the team has done a great job in getting the bike ready for qualifying. The French rider scored a 1’32.218, a time that allowed him to finish in a worked TOP-10.

Tito Rabat despite taking a step forward in the qualifying has not managed to overcome the cut of Q1. In his last attempt, the Spanish rider made a mistake in the first corner after losing control of the rear of his Ducati and, as a result, was unable to improve his final time of 1’32.791.

Tomorrow at 14:00 the San Marino Grand Prix race will start, where Esponosorama Racing will fight from the first lap to keep scoring important points for the championship.

“I want to be on the top 6, because be on the two first rows are very important for the race, but I had a freaky afternoon. During the FP4, first I had a technic problem, and then I had a crash ant it was a problem because this was the bike with I had to do the qualifying. The team did an amazing job because they change a lot of things in a short time and the bike was ready to the qualifying. It was very import because a top10 is better than a last position. I think I could be fighting for the top8 with the group in tomorrow’s race”

“It was a good day, in FP4 I really enjoyed myself, I understood things about the bike. In qualifying, in the second start, I was overconfident with the rear wheel. I think it’s not a problem with the tire, but if we find the solution it will help me to have feeling in the first laps of the race and to have a good race”.

Avintia Esponsorama Racing has returned to action for the first two free practices of the San Marino Grand Prix at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

Tomorrow there will be the third free practice and the E-Pole, where Avintia Esponsorama Racing will fight for the best possible starting position for Sunday’s race.

“Very happy with today, we worked calmly in the first practice to know the new asphalt and how the bike behaved. We have a good base from last year, I felt very comfortable on the bike, and I am very happy with the work this afternoon. Now we have to work to see what we need to improve for tomorrow and try to get a good grid position that will be very important for Sunday’s race”.

“First day over, we have taken FP1 to get back the feeling with the bike and the circuit. In FP2 we changed little things on the bike to help us improve. Now it’s time to look at how to improve for tomorrow for the qualifying session”.

Tomorrow the third and fourth free practices will take place and then the qualifying, where Esponsorama Racing will fight for the best possible starting position for Sunday’s race.

“Today was a good start, I had a good feeling, and I see that I can be fast. I got more pain on my right wrist, more than I expected, so that is why at the afternoon I took some anti-inflammatory and it was better in the afternoon about the pain. The track is good about the grip, because you can get a good confident with the tires, front and rear, to push. I hope I will feel better tomorrow because I feel I can go fastest but I can’t relax me.”

“It has been a difficult day, in which we finished +1.7 from the lead in a sunny day and testing the new asphalt. Tomorrow we will continue working”

I’m very happy to be back, after the two Jerez races I’m in a good moment, I feel strong, I feel fast, and I’m sure this weekend is going to be positive for us. Above all, we will seek to have a good bike with a good setting because we have 3 races, which will be important and will defined the championship. We will focus a lot on this aspect in practice, on getting a competitive race bike.”

“We reached the third round of the MotoE Championship, the second circuit, to face it with the same enthusiasm as in Jerez, with the difference that now we know more about the bike. Looking forward to tomorrow and doing things as well as possible with the team. “

The Reale Avintia Moto3 and Carlos Tatay arrive at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for the San Marino Grand Prix, the seventh race of the calendar for the category.

Located a few kilometers from Rimini, the Misano circuit is already a classic on the calendar. A total of six left turns, ten right turns and 4.2 kilometers form a fast, but at the same time very technical track.
