# 10 Luca Marini (Team Sky VR46 Avintia )

“It is a great opportunity to be able to race again at Losail and I can´t wait to get back out on track. After the race, we have analyzed the data and I know where I need to improve , bouth as a rider and on the bike to improve , for making a step forward directly from the free practices”.

Ruben Xaus

“In two days we will start  to start the second GP weekend. The first weekend went how we expected. We didn’t have too much time on those bikes . The race went well  for both of them, Bastianini scored a brilliant 10th  position after recovering a bad start. He finished as best rookie and first private bike on a satelite team, in front of several factory riders. Marini had a bad luck situation at the beginning of the race, but after  his performance was very good . I’m very happy for both riders. The second race is another step for us.  We have a lot of information to be used  and know how to do it . Its positive that this second race will be held here in Qatar again because we have a lot information that will help us to race in much better technical conditions.

With the team we have made a lot of progress, but we still have many things to improve. Now it is time to keep working for next weekend.

On the first lap one rider has fallen and after was very difficult to arrive again in front . It was a crazy race for me. I am very satisfied as I have given my 100%, I have managed to reach the group to overtake some riders . The position achieved allows me to win some good points for the general clasification. Thank you very much to the team for all the work done.”

In the classification with respect to FP4 the behaviour of the tyres of the bike changes a lot and I have not taken advantage of it well. On the second attempt I was ready, but in both turn 1 and turn 2 I have made a mistake in the line losing a lot time. The bike has improved a lot over the weekend. We’ll see how is my first race in MotoGP”

RUBEN XAUS – SPORTS DIRECTOR

“We are very happy; I think the results do not reflect the effort that the whole team has made. Two colours on each bike, but the same goal that is to succeed as a team. The two riders have done a great job this weekend. Marini today made a spectacular FP3 and Bastianini has made an exceptionally good classification. Neither of us has follow another rider to get that first partial that gives you a little more speed. “It’s been very exciting to try my Ducati at official free practice before my first Grand Prix. This morning is going very well, although on the last lap had an unimportant drop in corner one, immediately in the second practice , we  solved with medium tires. We tried a first time attack that didn’t go well but we’ve finally managed to improve. At first it is difficult to understand what the limit of the tyres is, with the new tyres the line is different.
