The Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 and Avintia VR46 riders finished the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich race at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg, where Tatay and Bartolini crossed the finish line in 16th and 23rd position respectively.

The Valencian rider, who had a great race, was penalised by a long lap penalty for exceeding the track limits. In the end, Tatay finished just one tenth of a second out of the points, after having to deal with the pain in his right foot throughout the laps.

Elia Bartolini could only finish 23rd. In his first time at the Red Bull Ring, the VR46 Academy rider made some mistakes that didn’t allow him to reach the Top-15, despite showing a great progression during the weekend.

The riders of the Moto3 class will prepare for the Monster Energy British Grand Prix, the 12th round of the calendar, at the mythical Silverstone circuit in two weeks.

“The race didn’t go as I expected. I was really looking forward to coming back and having a good race. Yesterday the qualifying went well and we were satisfied, but today things didn’t go as I wanted. The feeling with my foot was not the best and I didn’t feel comfortable with the bike, so in general it was a complicated weekend. What I needed was to get some laps and get back into the rhythm of the race after two months away, but the pain in my foot didn’t allow me from doing that. I hope to be in better condition for Silverstone.”

ELIA BARTOLINI – P23
“Unfortunately the race didn’t go the way we wanted. It was very fast and all the riders were very close. I made some mistakes that didn’t allow me to fight with the second group, but we won experience and I am happy with the progress we made during the weekend. I am satisfied and I want to thank the team for the opportunity.”

The Avintia Esponsorama Racing riders took part in the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich E-Pole at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg.

Xavi Cardelús will start the race on the second row of the grid. The Andorran rider has completed a great lap, with a time of 1:35.704. With this position, Cardelús will have a great opportunity to get a good result in tomorrow’s race.

André Pires had to settle for 18th position. The Portuguese, who was having his best weekend since his debut in the category, exceeded the limits of the track at turn 6 during his qualifying lap. This mistake meant that his time was cancelled.

The Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich points will be given in tomorrow’s race, which starts at 15:30.

Xavier Cardelús | 1:35.704 | P6

“I am happy. We made a big step forward in FP3 and I needed someone at the front to help me improve in the first sector. Honestly, I didn’t expect this position in the E-Pole, but we are more ready than ever to fight tomorrow. It’s true that I have some fast riders behind me so I will push from the start to finish in a good position.”

André Pires | NO TIME | P18

“I’m a bit sad about how the E-Pole went, but I feel confident for the race. Free practice this morning went well and I managed to improve my times. It’s the first weekend I’ve been at two seconds of the first one and I’m fighting with the other riders. Tomorrow I will give my all in the race and I think we can get a good result.”

Enea Bastianini and Luca Marini will start the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg in 15th and 17th position respectively, after having to participate in Q1.

Unfortunately, both riders were unable to finish in the top two positions of the session which would have allowed them to fight for pole position in Q2. Bastianini’s best lap was 1:23.790, while Marini’s was 1:23.834.

Tomorrow at 14:00 the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich race will start, where Avintia Esponsorama and Sky VR46 Avintia will try to finish with a good result.

Enea Bastianini | 1:23.790 | P15

“It was a bad day and I think we could have had a better result. In FP4 we were very fast and unfortunately this morning I couldn’t set a good lap because I crashed. Then we had some tyre problems which didn’t allow me to set a good lap either. I’m sure we had the speed to be much higher and to be in Q2. Tomorrow we will start 15th, which is better than last week, although it’s not the result we deserve.”

Luca Marini | 1:23.834 | P17

“I’m a bit angry about the grid position, we could have done better and got into Q2. We knew it was going to be difficult, I was going very fast on my last attempt, but other riders disturbed me. I had to stop accelerating and abort the lap. It’s a pity, because now MotoGP qualifying is also decided in fights like Moto3.”

Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 and Avintia VR46 completed the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich qualifying. Tatay was 16th and Bartolini 26th, but both riders will win one position due to Gabriel Rodrigo’s penalty.

Carlos Tatay had an excellent performance after the problems he suffered with his right foot last weekend. The Valencian rider was able to fight for pole position after going finish the Q1 in 2nd position. Tatay will start tomorrow’s race from the fifth row of the grid, with a best time of 1:36.482.

Elia Bartolini did not manage to go through to Q2 and, in his first time at the Red Bull Ring, will start the race from the ninth row . The VR46 Academy rider set a lap time of 1:37.760.

Tomorrow at 11:00 the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich race will start, where Tatay and Bartolini will fight to cross the finish line in the best possible position.

Carlos Tatay | 1:37.482 | P15

“It was a positive day, although after FP3 and qualifying I felt a lot of pain in my foot. Step by step, together with Clinica Mobile we can reduce the inflammation and not have so much pain. Tomorrow in the warm up I will try to not do too many laps and in the race I will try to ride as much as possible at the best level I can and give 100% as always.”

ELIA BARTOLINI – P25 (1:37.760)
“Qualifying didn’t go the way we wanted it to. There was a bit of a mess because a lot of rider were slow and it was very difficult to set a fast lap. In fact, when I was doing the fastest sectors, I couldn’t set a good lap. Anyway, tomorrow morning in the warm up, we’ll keep working to improve the setting of the bike to try to make a good come back and have fun in the race.”

The Avintia Esponsorama Racing riders made their debut today at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg, where they completed the first and second free practice of the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich.

Xavi Cardelús had a successful day and finished in 8th position in the combined practice times. The Andorran rider was 4th in the morning and, in the afternoon, he finished 8th despite improving his time by 6 tenths of a second. Cardelús’ best time was 1:36.213.

André Pires had his first taste of the Red Bull Ring. The Portuguese rider suffered from some technical problems which did not allow him to do too many laps to the circuit. Anyway, Pires showed a great progression compared to previous Grand Prix and ended the day in 18th position with a time of 1:38.800.

Tomorrow at 8:15, Cardelús and Pires will take part in the third free practice before the E-Pole of the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich.

“It’s not a bad start to the weekend. We’re eighth, so that’s not bad. My fastest lap was cancelled, and with that lap I would have been sixth. Anyway, we need to stay focused and work hard this afternoon to get a good result in the E-Pole tomorrow.”

“I’ve had a good first contact with the circuit and I’m liking it. I trained hard during the summer break and that made me feel more comfortable with the bike and I’m closer to the other riders. We had some technical problems and I wasn’t able to do too many laps, but the team is working to solve them. I’m looking forward to getting back on track and being able to do more laps, because I only managed to do six fast laps.”

Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 and Avintia VR46 completed the first day of the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich after the first and second free practice sessions.

Carlos Tatay finished 26th in the combined classification. The Valencian rider worked during Friday to find a good feeling with the bike. Tatay set his best time in the first free practice as, in the final stages of the second free practice, rain made its presence felt at the Red Bull Ring.

Elia Bartolini ended the day in 27th position. The Avintia VR46 rider showed great progress from the first to the second session, on a completely new track for him. The best lap time was achieved in the afternoon session.

Tomorrow at 9:00 the third free practice will be held, followed by the qualifying of the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich, where the starting grid for Sunday’s race will be determined.

“It was a complicated day and we are preparing to see if we are in a position to go out on Sunday and try to be physically fit. When we were about to put the new tyre on, it started to rain and we couldn’t improve our time either. We know where we have to improve and we are going for it.”

#22 ELIA BARTOLINI
“I’m happy with the first day. This morning we had some technical problems with the bike, which didn’t allow us to do many laps and set a good time. In the afternoon, I started to feel better on the bike and we managed to make a step forward. The Red Bull Ring is a very nice circuit, we did a good job with the team and I hope that tomorrow we can make another step.”

Avintia Esponsorama and Sky VR46 Avintia have completed the first two free practice sessions of the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg on Friday.

Enea Bastianini and Luca Marini ended the first day in Austria in 12th and 13th position respectively in the combined practice times. Both riders set their best times in the morning session, as the second free practice has been held in wet conditions.

Tomorrow at 9:55am the third free practice of the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich will start, where Bastianini and Marini will have one last chance to get a position that will allow them to go directly to Q2.

“It was a bit of a strange day as we didn’t expect rain today. This morning we started with the right foot and immediately set a good time. I made some changes to the front of the bike, but the problems didn’t go away, so we’ll keep working on it tomorrow. With the wet track the lap times weren’t quite good and we’re limited on medium wet tyres. Anyway, I did some laps to see how the bike was behaving and to understand what the potential is. We are ready for tomorrow.”

“We have been working on the bike during FP1 and we found some improvements that will help us for tomorrow. It was a pity that it rained in FP2, because we are a bit limited on the medium wet tyres. We’ll see how FP3 goes, it will be a key session, we have three softs to use and then three time attacks to get a competitive time.”

The MotoE World Cup lands this weekend at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg, where the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich, fifth round of the season, will take place.

Xavi Cardelús, currently 18th in the overall standings with 7 points, is having an unlucky season so far. Despite this, the Andorran rider is proving to be fast on the Energica Ego Corsa and is ambitious for Austria, with the main objective of achieving a good result.

André Pires faces a new challenge this weekend. The Avintia Esponsorama Racing rider faces the Austrian Grand Prix with the desire to continue to evolve on the bike and, step by step, to get closer to the front positions of the category. Pires is 16th in the standings with a total of 11 points.

The action at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg for the MotoE riders will start on Friday at 11:50am for the first free practice of the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich.

“I was able to recharge my batteries during the summer break. I’m really looking forward to getting back on the MotoE bike and the Red Bull Ring is a circuit I really like. We will keep working as hard as we have been, even if the results haven’t been what we wanted, but I’m sure we will be rewarded soon.”

“I had a positive break. I have trained a lot, both supermotard and motocross. I’m really looking forward to getting back on the MotoE and seeing if I’ve made any progress. I can’t wait for the weekend to start working. I feel very motivated.”

The Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 and Avintia VR46 riders will contest this weekend to the second consecutive Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg, the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich, tenth round of the calendar.

Carlos Tatay, who was unable to get on the bike in the Styrian Grand Prix race due to pain in his right foot, will have another chance to regain his racing rhythm and improve his feeling after his heavy injury. The Spanish rider is currently 25th in the overall standings with 14 points.

VR46 Academy rider Elia Bartolini will replace Antonelli at the Austrian Grand Prix. The Italian returns to the Avintia VR46 team after participating in the Catalan, German and Dutch Grand Prix, replacing Carlos Tatay. Bartolini left a very good feeling, scoring points in two of the three races he took part in.

On Friday at 9:00, the Moto3 riders will take part in the first free practice of the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich.

“I come to this Grand Prix with a lot of motivation. I’m looking forward to turning around last weekend, which started well but ended badly with me not being able to race. I am more motivated than ever to get out on track, to see how we can manage my injury during the practices and to see how I can feel better. I’m ready and I think we can have a good weekend.”

#22 ELIA BARTOLINI
“I am very happy for this opportunity. Unfortunately I don’t know this circuit, but we will try to get a good result. I am very grateful to the team for choosing me to replace Niccolò, although I feel very sorry for him and I hope he will be back as soon as possible. I will try to make the most of this opportunity and get the best result I can.”

The MotoGP World Championship will contest this weekend at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg the second consecutive Grand Prix, this time the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich.

Enea Bastianini and Luca Marini completed a good weekend at the Styrian Grand Prix. Both managed to cross the finish line in the points in the race, where the Avintia Esponsorama rider was 12th, while the Sky VR46 Avintia rider was 14th.

This weekend at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg, Bastianini and Marini will have another opportunity to continue scoring important points for the team at the Austrian Grand Prix.

The action at the Austrian track will start on Friday at 9:55am, when the first free practice for the premier class of the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich will take place.

“We are still in Austria and we will see if we can have a good race. On Sunday we had good potential but unfortunately we started from 20th position, so everything got complicated. Let’s see if we can get a better qualifying result this weekend. I’m prepared and we will keep an eye on the rain, because this will also be a factor that will affect our performance, but let’s be positive.”

“We are back in Spielberg. The first race was not perfect, but we managed to finish in the points. Now we face another weekend at the same circuit. We will work again on the details, which are also useful for future races, and on how to make a step forward in the early stages of the race.”
