LUCA MARINI FINISHES IN 16TH POSITION, BASTIANINI SUFFERS A FALL WITHOUT CONSEQUENCES

Jerez (Spain) May 2, 2021 – Ends the GP Red Bull of Spain  with a positive balance for the riders of Team Avintia Esponsorama Racing. Although a fall without consequences, Bastianini has had a good pace with very good feeling since the start of the race, unfortunately the Italian this time has not been able to get any point. Luca Marini has finished in 16th position with gradual progress in the race that has allowed him to continue to gain experience.

 #10 LUCA MARINI (SKY VR46 AVINTIA TEAM) – 16º

“I made a mistake at the start: in the rush to recover, I went straight in braking on several occasions, and I lost a lot of seconds from the strongest guys. After the first 7 laps I started to ride better, I made the steps forward I had seen in the data and I did a very good second half of the race. The result is not positive, the points were so close and the gap from the very first riders was not bad at all. We are putting together many pieces; I have made progress on the use of the gas and the management of the rear tire. There are still many aspects to work on, but I’m happy because Jerez is not an easy track for the Ducati GP19 while the new one is really fast. I was behind Tito (Rabat) and the bike was very very fast. Congratulations to Dall’Igna and all the Ducati engineers because they have done a great job, Jerez is notoriously a track for other manufacture”.

#23 ENEA BASTIANINI

“I’ve made a bad start, with some problems. I had the pace and good feelings with the brake, after 4 or 5 laps I overtake to Marquez, but I went outside and it has pass me again, behind him I make a time of 38.4, 38.5 so I think little by little I could have improved. It was a shame the fall on Turn 2, I’m sure I could have made a good race. I keep the positive, we’ve been competitive. This morning the feeling with the bike was much better, tomorrow in the tests we will try new solutions.”

COMPLICATED DAY IN THE CLASSIFICATION SECTION FOR AVINTIA ESPONSORAMA RACING TEAM RIDERS

Jerez (Spain) May 1, 2021 – The demanding track of the Jerez circuit has not been favourable for Avintia Esponsorama Racing Team riders. The adaptation to the Ducati in the MotoGP category continues growing up with positive sensations. After the qualifying day Enea Bastianini will be tomorrow 15th with a time of 1’37,675.  Luca Marini with 1´37.925 gets the 18 º position tomorrow on the grid.

#23 ENEA BASTIANINI – 15º- 1´37.675

“It’s been a difficult day. With the new tyre I feel much better than the used something different to other circuits, I must understand the reason. I have a lot of movement on the bike, and I can’t turn the bike well. Tomorrow, we will analyse the data of other Ducati riders who have made good times to confront them with mine. I can’t be entirely satisfied with my result.”

#10 LUCA MARINI (SKY VR46 AVINTIA TEAM) – 18º – 1´37.925

“A complicated qualifying, compared to the free practices there was more wind and I have struggled a bit. I am not satisfied with the result: I set my best time with an used rear tire of three laps and a front one of seven, not the most optimal conditions. A shame, there was a lot of traffic on the track and maybe I was more penalized than others. The feeling with the bike is quite ok and we can make a step forward in turning. We have already decided the tires for the race, and we are happy about our choice. Tomorrow it will be important to have a great start and push at 100% in the first laps”.

FIRST DAY OF FREE PRACTICE FOR THE MOTOGP CATEGORY AT THE GP RED BULL OF SPAIN

Jerez (Spain) April 30, 2021 – Ends the first day of free practice at the Jerez circuit. The demands of this track today have proved evident to the riders of the Avintia Esponsorama Racing Team. Luca Marini has completed 17 laps getting 15th place with a time of 1’38,274. Enea Bastianini with a time of 1´38.516 will be 18th after completing 19 laps.

 #10 LUCA MARINI (SKY VR46 AVINTIA TEAM) – 15º – 1´38.274

“The Jerez track with MotoGP is really tough: all the turns are so close practically you can’t breathe. However, it is always a beautiful track. I am happy with the work done today, so many positive feelings. We have continued to work on the position on the bike and made a good step forward. Also, on the set up we changed something compared to Qatar and Portimao, we can still do a little bit on the rear to be perfect, but I’m happy. On the tire choice, we need to understand exactly what to do with the front for the qualifying and then decide between medium or hard on the rear for the race even if at the moment I’m not able to completely exclude the soft. After the first day of free practices, I am a second of gap from Pecco (Bagnaia) and for the first time here it is not bad at all”.

#23 ENEA BASTIANINI- 18th – 1’38.516

“I’m not very happy, I expected a better result. This morning I was at a good pace and in the afternoon workouts we got worse. Tomorrow I need to take one more step to be better. My strong point is braking, but I don’t feel confident with the back side. Jerez is a track that won’t let your guard down, I hope to keep progressing and growing up tomorrow.”

# 23 ENEA BASTIANINI

Jerez is a track that I really like. Here we are all very fast so it will be even more difficult to be in front. Our objective is to get a good time in qualifying, my goal is to work to achieve it. I am very happy with the work we do in Portimao; we started a little behind, but in the end, we managed to be competitive in the race. My goal in Jerez is to be fast from the first day”.

# 10 LUCA MARINI (SKY VR46 AVINTIA TEAM)

We arrived in Jerez after a good weekend in Portimao. We started with historical European circuits that all the riders know very well from other categories. I am very curious to race on this track with the MotoGP: compared to Portugal and Qatar, it is shorter so it will be more difficult to reach the pace. We will start with the work done in Portimao, to try to achieve the positive feelings that I had there, to achieve the best results in the race”.

RUBEN XAUS – SPORTS DIRECTOR

“Jerez is a legendary track where we all have very good memories. The riders have exceptionally good references, we have to get a quick set-up to concentrate on learning about the tires, and the felling that allows us to push the bike to the limit. We have shown that we are competitive in the race, but in this category, it is essential to be in front from the beginning. We continue with the same objective, to continue growing up and getting places in the top 10 that will give us points for the general classification”.

Meanwhile Luca Marini after very good qualy and a start that has kept him in the top 10 for several laps, has finished in 12th position.

#23 ENEA BASTIANINI – 9th

“I’ve had the opportunity to study the other riders, I was late, but I’ve made it. On the last lap I have been the fastest of the grid. I have been able to race the bike in the right way avoiding movement and achieved the best result of the season so far; I am very satisfied with the work we have done. I´m headed to Jerez convinced of our potential and knowing that we can be in the first positions.”

 #10 LUCA MARINI (SKY VR46 AVINTIA TEAM) – 12th

“I’m not happy with today’s race and the pace: I was half a second slower than what we have shown in the free practices and we need to analyse the data to understand the race. A positive pace since Friday but something happened today . Overall, I am happy, a growing weekend where we have worked well with the whole Team. I am angry about the race, we need to fix these things because in Qatar too we have struggled more in the long run than in the practices”.

#10 – LUCA MARINI -SKY VR46 AVINTIA – 8th

“I am really very happy with this top 8 place in Q2 and satisfied with the work I am doing with the Team. I am more comfortable on the bike and we have made a great step forward that we will take from here are to the next races. In the FP4 I kept a good pace, we are close to the fastest guys. It´s a pity the crash but we will continue to work to make the most of the warm up”.

#23 ENEA BASTIANINI – 16th

“Today we improved with respect to yesterday, obviously it has not been enough to move on to Q2. I’m not 100% on this track, we could have improved but was not possible. For me, it is difficult managing the braking. For tomorrow we’ll analyse the data and try to make a step forward on the warm up. We have made small modifications that I hope will go well.”

FIRST DAY OF TEST FOR THE AVINTIA ESPONSORAMA RACING TEAM MOTOGP RIDERS IN THE MOTOGP 888 OF PORTUGAL.

Portimao (Portugal) April 16, 2021 – Portugal’s GP 888 begins with the first day of test at the Portimao circuit. Here, Enea Bastianini was proclaimed Moto2 World Champion last season, becoming one of the most important days of his life. Enea remembers again the track with totally different sensations on his new Ducati in a very technical track. Today he has done his best time at 1:41,836. Luca Marini who was second in the World Championship in the same category, continues to work on the technical aspects of his bike progressing more and more every day, today in his first contact he has achieved his best time at 1:40,761.

#23 ENEA BASTIANINI – 1:41,836 – 20º

“Today has been a difficult day, we improved the lap time from FP1 to FP2. Tomorrow we need to try to push very hard. I’ve had problems with the front part set-up as the bike was moving a lot, I think we can resolve the problem to be in time to make a good lap time tomorrow. This track is very technical, unfortunately I have not been able to have a reference, it was not possible to follow any rider and here this is important”.

#10 LUCA MARINI (SKY VR46 AVINTIA TEAM) – 1:40,761 – 13º

“I’m very happy: I really enjoyed this session; I like the track and I felt good on the bike too. We were fast, we did a great job between the FP1 and the FP2 even if, compared to the other Ducati, we are losing something in braking. I can make a step forward on my riding style in 2/3 points to be ready for my flying lap in qualifying. The FP4 will be very important to choose the tire for the race: today we used both medium and soft and we need to understand how the compound will work on the long run”.

THE RIDERS OF THE AVINTIA ESPONSORAMA TEAM WAITING THE FIRST EUROPEAN GRAND PRIX ON THE PORTIMAO CIRCUIT.

Portimao (Portugal) April 13, 2021 – Avintia Esponsorama Racing riders await the third round of the season with the good results achieved in Qatar. The first European Grand Prix of the 2021 season will be held at the Portimao circuit on 17 and 18 April. This circuit has a length of 4,692m with 10 right and 8 left curves that will be a challenge for the pilots of the queen category.

#23 ENEA BASTIANINI

” Portimao is a very funny track, I have very good memories of last year. It will be something new as so far we have only race in Qatar. I am very excited about the change of track. We need to stay focused to be fast and improve, although I think this weekend will be more complicated than the previous ones. We will see how is my adaptation to this track with the Ducati”.

# 10 LUCA MARINI

“It will be an interesting weekend: for the first time I will ride the Ducati on a track different than Qatar. We will try to give our best and check the gap from the very first guys after the FP. We will start from the Losail standard bike for making another step forward in turning and on the front. Then I have to learn the new lines, trajectories and braking points as soon as I can. We need to work on the tires too because, compared to Qatar, the choice here will be less obvious between hard, soft, and medium. I really like the track and I’m curious to see what will happen”.

RUBEN XAUS – SPORT DIRECTOR

“We are happy to be back  in Europe: We feel more organized in Europe races. The best situation to optimize the working schedule too. Luca comes from two races where he did not collect points, but he has crossed the finishing line and has shown is potential. Enea arrive with a 10º and 11º place achieved in the races of Qatar, this gives us a lot of power. I think we can do very good on the Portimao track, here the Ducati are very competitive. We need to continue to work on the data for being competitive, correct some details to be there with the group of the top riders and make a step at the start and in the battle of the first 5 laps. We can hit the points and get closer to the Top10.

DOHA TISSOT GP ENDS WITH VERY POSITIVE RESULTS FOR AVINTIA ESPONSORAMA RACING TEAM: BASTIANINI GET THE 11TH POSITION WHILE MARINI FINISHES 18TH

Doha (Qatar) April 4, 2021 – Ends the second GP on the Losail International Circuit. Enea Bastianini who was started the 18th has managed to go up finishing 11th, some problems with the hair and sweat have not allowed him to have good visibility in the last laps preventing a better position. Luca Marini has finished 18th; the Italian continues to improve with the achieving to get better results.

#23 ENEA BASTIANINI – 11th

“We have made a great race; I am very happy. I’m go up, even if I would have liked to be on grid much better, I am sure that I could have fought with the first ones. Unfortunately 6 or 7 laps from the end ,my hair and sweat did not let me have good visibility and don’t let me to stay focused, again obstacle and bad luck! We have improve more than last weekend so I’m very satisfied.”

# 10 LUCA MARINI – 18th

“ I was expected more from today´s race: I had a good pace, but after ten laps I started to struggled with the front tire. The condition became more and more tough until 6 laps to go when I could no longer push to the right. It is a problem that I had this morning in the warm up in the middle of the corner and we need to work on this aspect that strongly affected the result of the race. A real pity.”
