#10 LUCA MARINI (SKY VR46 AVINTIA TEAM) – 1,54.228 – 13º

“A good qualifying: I am satisfied with how it went today , I had a lot of fun! In the FP4 we have tried a change for the race, to try to fix the felling on the front , but I didn´t have the desired feelings . We went back to the standard bike and it was the right choice. I felt good, I did some good laps, not a perfect one and that cost me the access to the Q2 . We have made a good step forward compared to last weekend and I’m happy “.

#23 ENEA BASTIANINI – 1,54,632 – 19th

“Unfortunately, today we had a few problems, we did not deserve it, I hope I can make a good starting tomorrow. My pace is good, this weekend was more difficult. We must understand what the source of the problem is, with the bad luck nothing can be done. Tomorrow I will go out strongly to try to get a good result.”

FIRST DAY OF FREE PRACTICE OF THE TISSOT GRAND PRIX OF DOHA.
Doha (Qatar) April 2, 2021 – Today’s day has not been positive for the riders of the Avintia Esponsorama Racing team in the MotoGP category. The conditions of the track have not been favourable, although both riders will continue to demonstrate their potential tomorrow in the second day of practice. #23 ENEA BASTIANINI – 1,54.516 – 19th
“It hasn’t been a great day. Since this morning was difficult but I did not want to be negative and I thought that we could improve in the afternoon in FP2, unfortunately that’s not happened, I had no felling with the bike e neither in the first time attack and the second. I had less grip compared to last week and I have not managed to ride well. We need to understand if it has been a problem with the tires or that we must improve the setting. Track conditions have changed. I wasn’t 100% physically today, but tomorrow we’ll be better.”

# 10 LUCA MARINI – 1,54.680 -20th
“ A positive Friday despite the position. At the time of the time attack I tried to follow someone, but we waited a lot and I lost some time.I tried then a lap but the tires were still a bit cold and I did not push at 100% . However, I am happy with the work done because the changes we have tried on the bike have been positive, we have made a slight step forward and tomorrow we still have something we can do on the setup to be able to perform better in qualifying”
Ruben Xaus

“Today has been a complicated situation, we are improving day by day. But today it has been demonstrated that we are in the maximum category with a very high level. Many riders have managed to improve their times and we have not succeeded. The other teams have improved a lot and we have not. We must learn from this and stay focused knowing that we are a great team with a lot of potential. Tomorrow will be another day, we are out of the Q2 but we will try tomorrow at least to get out of the top fifteen, something of vital importance.”

Enea Bastianini completed the race as the best debutant in the category by finishing 10th, while Luca Marini progressed getting the 16th position.

#23 Enea Bastianini

“Now we have more experience. I managed to do a magnificent race. Surely the 5 mili. that I missed in  qualifiying  influenced the race start , but I am very happy. We will try to be faster in the time attack and make a race similar to last Sunday.

# 10 Luca Marini (Team Sky VR46 Avintia )

“It is a great opportunity to be able to race again at Losail and I can´t wait to get back out on track. After the race, we have analyzed the data and I know where I need to improve , bouth as a rider and on the bike to improve , for making a step forward directly from the free practices”.

Ruben Xaus

“In two days we will start  to start the second GP weekend. The first weekend went how we expected. We didn’t have too much time on those bikes . The race went well  for both of them, Bastianini scored a brilliant 10th  position after recovering a bad start. He finished as best rookie and first private bike on a satelite team, in front of several factory riders. Marini had a bad luck situation at the beginning of the race, but after  his performance was very good . I’m very happy for both riders. The second race is another step for us.  We have a lot of information to be used  and know how to do it . Its positive that this second race will be held here in Qatar again because we have a lot information that will help us to race in much better technical conditions.

DAY OF EMOTIONS FOR THE AVINTIA ESPONSORAMA RACING TEAM. IN HIS DEBUT IN MOTOGP CATEGORY BASTIANINI WILL BE STARTED IN 15TH POSITION WHILE HER TEAM MATE MARINI DEPARTED IN 18TH POSITION.

Doha (Qatar) March 27, 2021 – Undoubtedly an intense day for the debutants of Team Avintia Esponsorama Racing in the MotoGP category. Enea Bastianini for only 5 mili has not been able to pass the Q2, the Italian rider has made a fast lap in 1’53,733 that placed him in 13th position on the starting grid. His teammate Luca Marini stop the clock  at 1’54.122 getting out tomorrow in 18th position.

#23 ENEA BASTIANINI – 1’53.733- 13th position

“Today was my first classification, I didn’t quite know what I would be able to do. In the end I got a good time, unfortunately for only 5 mili, I could not pass on to Q2, I tried until the end. I am very happy with all the work the team has done inside the Box. The bike was fantastic. Tomorrow I’ll be 100% to be in the Top 10.”

#10 LUCA MARINI (SKY VR46 AVINTIA TEAM) – 1’54.122 – 18th position.

“On the first attempt I wanted to go after another rider, but in the end I was alone. I’ve tried to do my best alone, but I haven’t been aggressive enough to take advantage of the new tires. In the classification with respect to FP4 the behaviour of the tyres of the bike changes a lot and I have not taken advantage of it well. On the second attempt I was ready, but in both turn 1 and turn 2 I have made a mistake in the line losing a lot time. The bike has improved a lot over the weekend. We’ll see how is my first race in MotoGP”

RUBEN XAUS – SPORTS DIRECTOR

“We are very happy; I think the results do not reflect the effort that the whole team has made. Two colours on each bike, but the same goal that is to succeed as a team. The two riders have done a great job this weekend. Marini today made a spectacular FP3 and Bastianini has made an exceptionally good classification. Neither of us has follow another rider to get that first partial that gives you a little more speed. Tomorrow we will see the first MotoGP race for the two riders, I look forward to seeing the results.”

THE FIRST DAY OF FREE PRACTICE ENDS FOR THE RIDERS OF THE AVINTIA ESPONSORAMA MOTOGP TEAM
The riders of Avintia Esponsorama Racing have finished the day with very positive sensations. It has certainly been an exciting day, where both race on the Qatar circuit for the first time in a free MotoGP practice. #10 LUCA MARINI (SKY VR46 AVINTIA TEAM) – 1’54,432
“It’s been a very nice day”: together with the group of all the riders the FP1 has excited me. I am very happy with the work we have done and the updates that Ducati has brought me. I am more comfortable riding the bike and this is very important for the entire duration of the race. We’ve made some modifications to the settings and the time per lap has also improved. I lose on the T2 and T3 I don’t know why so I willhave to review the data to understand it.”
#23 ENEA BASTIANINI – 1’54.228
“It’s been very exciting to try my Ducati at official free practice before my first Grand Prix. This morning is going very well, although on the last lap had an unimportant drop in corner one, immediately in the second practice , we  solved with medium tires. We tried a first time attack that didn’t go well but we’ve finally managed to improve. At first it is difficult to understand what the limit of the tyres is, with the new tyres the line is different. Tomorrow I hope I can improve to get on the grid in front as I can.”

SANDSTORM PREVENTS AVINTIA ESPONSORAMA RACING TEAM RIDERS GOING OUT ON TRACK ON THE LAST DAY OF TESTING IN QATAR

Due to a strong sandstorm, the last Tests of the pre-season in Qatar have concluded without the riders of the Avintia Esponsorama Racing Team being able to go on Track.

10 LUCA MARINI (SKY VR46 AVINTIA TEAM)

“Unfortunately, the weather today did not allow us to go out on track, but we have worked a lot in the box. We had all the data from yesterday’s track simulation to analyze, especially the tyres drop. We were also able to make a comparison with the other Ducati. The goal for the race weekend is to be able to find a better feeling on the front and enter into the corner more directly and turn better ”

#23 ENEA BASTIANINI

“Today there was a lot of wind, it was impossible to go out on track so we couldn’t move forward. Moto GP is another world; I have a lot of fun and it’s very special to me. These days I have been able to try the bike, the first few days I was stiff, but then I relaxed, and I have been able to enjoy and learn from the rest of the riders. On this track we have learned a lot and I hope to get to make a good race. The Ducati has given me good feelings from the beginning, regarding about the Moto 2 it is all positive.”.

RUBEN XAUS – SPORT DIRECTOR AVINTIA ESPONSORAMA RACING TEAM

“Today the protagonist has been the COVID vaccine, once again Dorna as organizer, demonstrates her commitment with this pandemic. Today the track was very dirty due to a sandstorm and we couldn’t get out on the track. We are very satisfied with this work, both riders have the ability to learn very quickly are young and ambitious, and this only adds up.”

SECOND TEST DAY IN QATAR WITH POSITIVE PROGRESS AND RESULTS FOR AVINTIA ESPONSORAMA RACING TEAM

On this second day, the advance of the two riders of Avintia Esponsorama Racing Team remains positive. The adaptation to the Ducati continues to progress, showing the great work that the whole team is doing. Luca Marini today achieved a time of 1:55.022 completing a total of 53 laps. Enea Bastianini has completed 38 laps with his best time at 1:54,505 .

#23 ENEA BASTIANINI – 1:54,505

“Today I worked very well, not like yesterday, but I hope that tomorrow with better asphalt conditions will improve my times. The feel of the MotoGP is completely different from the Moto2, if you get out slow of the corner the bike bump from behind and is more difficult. Today I had shoulder discomfort from yesterday’s fall, it didn’t bother me until I went out on track and I noticed the pain, the Ducati is complicated, and I still have to adapt better to the bike”.

# 10 LUCA MARINI – Sky Vr46 Avintia Team   – 1:55.022
“We have worked really hard today especially on the rear of the bike and I found a good setting. Even in the corners I was able to make a step forward, I’m faster in the changes of direction and at the end of the day I did a race simulation. The feeling is good, even on physical side, and I was able to understand better how to manage the tyres even on long distances. It was tough, the pace isn’t bad, I felt a drop in the front tire, especially on the right side, and I have to work on that. In the early afternoon I went out on the track with medium-medium, but with the drop in temperatures the best solution for me was the soft-soft”.

# 10 LUCA MARINI (EQUIPO SKY VR46 AVINTIA) – 1:55.022
