Reale Avintia Racing rider Loris Baz completed a successful third day of testing at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar. This was the last day of the winter test, and Loris finished 17º on the timesheet only 1.2s from the fastest rider, that once again was Maverick Viñales. Baz had really good feeling during the three days of testing and he leaves Qatar satisfied.

He will be back in his bike here at Losail in ten days time to start the new season, and this time his Reale Avintia Racing teammate Hector Barbera will join him in the garage. Barberá was forced to miss this test after breaking his left collarbone, but he will be ready to compete in the first race of 2017.

“These were three positive testing days and I go back home really happy. Mainly because I had good feeling with the bike and we were able to test some interesting things. Today I did my best lap over the three days with the hard rear tyre, and I also improved with the soft one. I think that it was possible to go a little bit faster at the end, but the last front tyre I used was not working as the previous one. Anyway I leave Qatar satisfied, we did a good job and I did not crash here and also in the previous test in Australia. So I think my winter test was quite positive. The fastest riders were really fast, so it is obvious that we can improve even more, but if we compare how we are now with how we were at the end of last season, I think that we did a big step forward. I’m looking forward to start racing!”.

El piloto de Reale Avintia Racing, Loris Baz, ha completado con éxito el tercer y último día de test en el Circuito Internacional de Losail en Qatar. En el que ha sido el último día de entrenamientos de la pretemporada, Baz ha terminado 17º a 1.2s del más rápido, que una vez más ha sido Maverick Viñales. Pero sus sensaciones han sido muy buenas durante los tres días y se va de Qatar muy satisfecho.

En diez días volverá a subirse en la moto aquí en Losail para comenzar la nueva temporada, y junto a él estará su compañero en el Reale Avintia Racing, Héctor Barberá, quien se ha visto forzado a perderse el último test de la pretemporada debido a una lesión en su clavícula izquierda.

“Han sido tres días muy positivos y me voy contento. Sobre todo por que he tenido muy buenas sensaciones con la moto y hemos probado varias cosas interesantes. Hoy he hecho el mejor tiempo de los tres días con el neumático duro y también he mejorado con la blanda. Creo que al final podría haber bajado un poco más el tiempo, pero no tenía buenas sensaciones con el neumático delantero, que no iba muy bien. Pero estoy satisfecho, hemos trabajado bien, no me he caído ni una sola vez ni aquí, ni en Australia, por lo que creo que ha sido una buena pretemporada. Delante han rodado muy rápido y todavía tenemos que mejorar, pero si comparamos cómo estamos ahora y a final del año pasado, creo que hemos dado un gran paso. Ya estoy deseando empezar.”

El pilot de Reale Avintia Racing, Loris Baz, ha completat amb èxit el tercer i últim dia de test al Circuit Internacional de Losail a Qatar. A més ha estat l’últim dia d’entrenaments de la pretemporada. Baz ha acabat 17è a 1.2s del més ràpid, que una vegada més ha estat Maverick Viñales. Però les seves sensacions han estat molt bones durant els tres dies i se’n va de Qatar molt satisfet.

En deu dies tornarà a pujar a la moto aquí i Losail per començar la nova temporada, i al costat d’ell estarà el seu company al Reale Avintia Racing, Héctor Barberá, qui s’ha vist forçat a perdre l’últim test de la pretemporada a causa d’una lesió a la clavícula esquerra.

“Han estat tres dies molt positius i em vaig content. Sobretot per que he tingut molt bones sensacions amb la moto i hem provat diverses coses interessants. Avui he fet el millor temps dels tres dies amb el pneumàtic dur i també he millorat amb la tova. Crec que al final podria haver baixat una mica més el temps, però no tenia bones sensacions amb el pneumàtic davanter, que no anava molt bé però estic satisfet, hem treballat bé, no he caigut ni una sola vegada ni aquí, ni a Austràlia, pel que crec que ha estat una bona pretemporada al davant han rodat molt ràpid i encara hem de millorar, però si comparem com estem ara ja final de l’any passat, crec que hem fet un gran pas ja estic desitjant començar.”

Reale Avintia Racing team rider Loris Baz, completed the second day of testing at Qatar with really positive feeling. 21 of the 42 laps he did today at the 3,34 miles circuit, were a race simulation and Baz finished very happy both with his pace and the performance of the Michelin tyres over the race distance. And although he thinks that it was possible to go slightly faster, he was overall happy with his performance in the second day at Losail International Circuit.

Following the race simulation the Reale Avintia Racing French rider went out again with a set of fresh tyres and pushed for a fast lap, ending the day 15^th on the timesheet with a time of 1’55.808.

“It was another good day at the office and I’m happy. At the beginning the feeling was not so good as yesterday, but we refined the set up of the bike and we were able to improve. Today we worked with the tyres for the race, I think that for us will be the rear hard and the front soft, and we did a race simulation with positive results. Of course I would go faster, but to be my first race simulation I was quite happy with the result. After the simulation I did went out again pushing for a lap time, and I think it was not so bad, because I did it on my own and I was not pushing and tacking risks. I’m very happy because is the first time I enjoy riding the bike for a long time, and for me this is the most positive fact of this test.”

En total ha donat 42 voltes al circuit de 5.380 metres, de les quals 21 han estat un simulacre de carrera. Baz ha acabat molt content amb el seu ritme i amb el rendiment dels pneumàtics Michelin en la distància de carrera i, encara que podria haver rodat una mica més ràpid, en general ha acabat content el segon dia en el Circuit Internacional de Losail. Després de completar el simulacre de carrera, el pilot francès de Reale Avintia Racing ha muntat un joc de pneumàtics nou i ha sortit a buscar una volta ràpida, parant el cronòmetre en 1’55.808 que li ha servit per fer-se amb el 15è lloc en la classificació del dia.

“Ha estat un altre dia molt productiu i estic content. Al principi les sensacions no eren tan bones com ahir, però hem treballat una mica en la posada punt i ha anat millorant. Hem treballat amb els pneumàtics que farem servir en la carrera, perquè crec que serà la dura darrere i el tou davant, i la simulació de carrera ha anat força bé. Es pot anar més ràpid, però per ser la primera que fèiem estic content. A última hora hem sortit per intentar fer un bon temps i crec que ha estat bé, perquè ho he fet sol, i tampoc he forçat, ni he pres molts riscos. Estic content perquè és la primera vegada que em diverteixo tant sobre la moto en molt de temps i això sens dubte és el més positiu.”

Tras completar el simulacro de carrera, el piloto francés de Reale Avintia Racing ha montado un juego de neumáticos nuevo y ha salido a buscar una vuelta rápida, parando el cronómetro en 1’55.808 que le ha servido para hacerse con el 15º puesto en la clasificación del día.

“Ha sido otro día muy productivo y estoy contento. Al principio las sensaciones no eran tan buenas como ayer, pero hemos trabajado un poco en la puesta punto y ha ido mejorando. Hemos trabajado con los neumáticos que usaremos en la carrera, porque creo que será la dura detrás y el blando delante, y la simulación de carrera ha ido bastante bien. Se puede ir más rápido, pero para ser la primera que hacíamos estoy contento. A última hora hemos salido para intentar hacer un buen tiempo y creo que ha estado bien, porque lo he hecho solo, y tampoco he forzado, ni he tomado muchos riesgos. Estoy feliz porque es la primera vez que me divierto tanto sobre la moto en mucho tiempo y eso sin duda es lo más positivo.”

El primer dia d’entrenaments de MotoGP al Circuit Internacional de Losail ha estat molt positiu per Loris Baz, l’únic pilot de l’equip Reale Avintia Racing, present a Qatar. Recordem que el seu company Héctor Barberá va decidir dilluns passat no prendre part en aquests test després de fracturar-se la clavícula esquerra i passar pel quiròfan fa només una setmana. Loris Baz s’ha trobat molt còmode amb la seva Ducati Desmosedici GP15 des de la primera sortida a pista i ha arribat a estar entre els deu més ràpids en la taula de temps. El pilot francès del Reale Avintia Racing només ha completat 31 voltes i ha decidit acabar abans d’hora quan la temperatura de la pista ha començat a baixar. El millor és que les seves sensacions amb la moto han estat molt bones i demà espera millorar una mica més. Baz ha acabat a 1.3 segons d’Andrea Dovizioso, que avui ha estat el més ràpid amb la Ducati de fàbrica.

“El dia ha anat molt bé. Feia exactament un any que no tenia tan bon feeling amb la moto i des de les primeres voltes m’ha anat molt bé. Avui no hem donat moltes voltes, però això ens va bé per guardar pneumàtics per als pròxims dos dies. en general estic molt content i demà hem de seguir en la mateixa línia, millorar una mica més i solucionar els petits problemes que tenim en alguns revolts, però les sensacions han estat molt bones. No hem provat moltes coses, perquè la posada a punt base ha funcionat molt bé des del principi, així que hem provat els pneumàtics que ha portat Michelin i sobretot he tractat de rodar per agafar confiança amb el circuit. Demà tenim previst fer un simulacre de carrera i veurem què tal va.”

The first of the three days of MotoGP official testing at the Losail International Circuit was really positive for Loris Baz, the only Reale Avintia Racing team representative today at Qatar. His teammate Hector Barbera decided to stay at home last Monday and take more time to recover from his collarbone, after only eight days since his surgical intervention.

Loris Baz felt really comfortable riding his Ducati Desmosedici GP15 from the first time out, and he was in the top ten with two hours remaining. The Reale Avintia Racing French rider did only 31 laps in the opening day at Qatar, as he decided to stop before schedule when the track temperature started to drop down. He had very good feeling with the bike and tomorrow he hopes to improve even more. Baz finished 17^th only 1.3s from Andrea Dovizioso, the fastest today riding the factory Ducati.

“The first day was really good. I did not have such a good feeling with the bike since one year ago and from the first laps I was going fast. Today I did not many laps, but this it is not so bad as we were able to keep some tyres for the next two days. Overall I’m very happy and we need to keep in the same direction tomorrow, try to improve even more and solve the issues we have in some turns, but I’m happy with the feeling I had today. We had not many stuff to test, because the base set up was working from the beginning, so I just tried Michelin tyres and I basically concentrated in getting some feeling with the track. Tomorrow we want to do a race simulation, and we will see how it goes.”

El primer día de entrenamientos de MotoGP en el Circuito Internacional de Losail ha sido muy positivo para Loris Baz, el único piloto del equipo Reale Avintia Racing presente en Qatar. Recordamos que su compañero Héctor Barberá decidió el pasado lunes no tomar parte en estos test después de fracturarse la clavícula izquierda y pasar por el quirófano hace solo una semana.

Loris Baz se ha encontrado muy cómodo con su Ducati Desmosedici GP15 desde la primera salida a pista y ha llegado a estar entre los diez más rápidos en la tabla de tiempos. El piloto francés del Reale Avintia Racing solo ha completado 31 vueltas y ha decidido terminar antes de tiempo cuando la temperatura de la pista ha comenzado a bajar. Lo mejor es que sus sensaciones con la moto han sido muy buenas y mañana espera mejorar un poco más. Finalmente Baz ha terminado 17º a 1.3 segundos de Andrea Dovizioso, quien hoy ha sido el más rápido con la Ducati de fábrica.

“El día ha ido muy bien. Hacía exactamente un año que no tenía tan buen feeling con la moto y desde las primeras vueltas me ha ido muy bien. Hoy no hemos dado muchas vueltas, pero esto nos viene bien para guardar neumáticos para los próximos dos días. En general estoy muy contento y mañana tenemos que seguir en la misma línea, mejorar un poco más y solucionar los pequeños problemas que tenemos en algunas curvas, pero las sensaciones han sido muy buenas. No hemos probado muchas cosas, porque la puesta a punto base ha funcionado muy bien desde el principio, así que hemos probado los neumáticos que ha traído Michelin y sobre todo he tratado de rodar para coger confianza con el circuito. Mañana tenemos previsto hacer un simulacro de carrera y veremos qué tal va.”
