The Reale Avintia Racing Team will face this weekend the third race in a row as it lands in the Sepang International Circuit for the Malaysian GP, the 18th GP of the season and the last one of this year’s overseas.

Specifically built for speed and exciting racing, the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia is one of the world’s best. The 2,300-acre complex which also houses a hotel, shopping centre, golf course and other sports facilities cost around £50m to construct and was built in just 14 months, holding its first Grand Prix in April 1999 and setting the standard for race circuits worldwide.

The circuit has a length of 5,5km linked by 5 left and 10 right hand corners and two long straights. With four slow corners following two long straights and ten medium to high-speed corners, the wide track is particularly favourable to overtaking manoeuvres and plenty of open throttle. One of the longest laps in MotoGP is made all the more gruelling for riders by intense heat and humidity. Sepang is located around 50km south of Kuala Lumpur city.

Last time out in the Australian GP, the Reale Avintia Racing Team left the Phillip Island circuit with a bittersweet feeling. On the one hand, Karel Abraham managed to finish in the points as he crossed the finish line 14th. On the other hand, Tito Rabat was forced to retire from the race because of the pain in his right hand and won’t be racing in Sepang with the aim to start his rehab in order to arrive in the best physical conditions in the GP de la Comunitat Valenciana and the following preseason tests.

“Our last race was very good and I am very happy about it. I hope to return to work in the same way here in Sepang, a circuit that is not easy for me because it is often very hot, and humidity and I don’t like that. However, I like the layout, I think I adapt well, and I have good memories of races and tests that I have done throughout my career. ”

 

Por tercera semana consecutiva el Reale Avintia Racing Team afrontará un nuevo fin de semana de competición con la disputa del Gran Premio de Malasia en el Sepang International Circuit con motivo de la 18ª carrera del año y última de la gira asiática.

Concebido para la velocidad y el espectáculo, el circuito internacional de Sepang es uno de los mejores del mundo. Fue construido en el corazón de un inmenso complejo que comprende un hotel, un campo de golf, comercios y otras infraestructuras deportivas y costó más de 50 millones de libras esterlinas. El conjunto se terminó en menos de catorce meses y sus instalaciones responden a los criterios más exigentes. Albergó su primer Gran Premio en abril de 1999 y desde esa fecha ha sido escenario de un Gran Premio del calendario mundialista.

El circuito tiene una longitud de 5,5km unidos por 5 curvas a izquierda, 2 a derecha y dos largas rectas. Con cuatro curvas lentas seguidas de varias rectas y una decena de curvas bastante rápidas, el circuito de Sepang favorece los adelantamientos y las puntas de velocidad elevadas. La competición en este trazado, uno de los más largos del campeonato, se acostumbra a desarrollar bajo un calor intenso y con altos índices de humedad. Sepang se encuentra a unos 50kms al sur de Kuala Lumpur.

En el último GP de Australia, el Reale Avintia Racing Team se marchó del circuito de Phillip Island con un sabor agridulce. Por una parte, Karel Abraham logró entrar en los puntos gracias a su 14ª posición final; por otra parte, Tito Rabat se vio obligado a retirarse de la carrera por las dolencias en su mano derecha y no participará en la carrera de Sepang con el objetivo de comenzar la rehabilitación y llegar en las mejores condiciones al GP de la Comunitat Valenciana y los posteriores test de pretemporada.

“Nuestra última carrera estuvo muy bien y estoy muy contento por ello. Espero volver a trabajar del mismo modo aquí en Sepang, un circuito que no es fácil para mi porque a menudo hace mucha calor y humedad y eso no me gusta. Sin embargo, me gusta el trazado, creo que me adapto bien y tengo buenos recuerdos de carreras y test que he hecho a lo largo de mi carrera.”

Because of the multiple contusions suffered by Tito Rabat on his right hand that haven’t allowed him to race in Japan and Australia,  and the lack of healing of it, it is decided after deliberation by the Reale Avintia Racing Team, Tito Rabat himself and the Medical Team, to start the intense rehab in order to face the last Gran Prix of the season in Valencia and the following 2020 preseason test with competitive guarantees.

Eric Granado, Reale Avintia Racing Team rider in the MotoE World Cup and main rider to fight for the championship in 2020, was one of the possible replacement of Tito Rabatr in Malaysian GP. The encouragement and the excitement of the Brazilian rider is that huge that he did a long journey of more than 40 hours in order to be ready in Malaysia in case he could ride.

By different circumstances it won’t be possible but the team hopes in the possibility to give Granado the chance to step in a MotoGP bike shortly.

The youth and the speed of the rider makes the Reale Avintia Racing Team see him as a future candidate inside the team itself and dreams to take him to the highest category in the following seasons.

I quite liked the work we have done in MotoE and, although for some reasons we did not get the results, I am sure that next year we will have a great season. I also want to thank that they trusted me to come to Malaysia, I hope to have another opportunity shortly to work with the MotoGP team and grow as a pilot within the team for the next few years. ”

 

Debido a las contusiones múltiples padecidas por Tito Rabat, que le ha imposibilitado disputar las carreras de y Japón y Australia, afectando a su mano derecha, y la insuficiente recuperación de la misma, se decide tras una oportuna deliberación del Reale Avintia Racing Team, Tito Rabat y Equipo Médico, proceder a fase de descanso y rehabilitación intensa, para afrontar el último Gran Premio del campeonato en Valencia; y los test de pretemporada 2020 con garantías competitivas.

Eric Granado, piloto del equipo Reale Avintia Racing Team en la Copa del Mundo de de MotoE, y punta de lanza del equipo para luchar el próximo campeonato en 2020, era uno de los candidatos para sustituir a Tito Rabat en la carrera de Malasia; tanta es la voluntad y ganas del piloto brasileño, que ha hecho una largo viaje de más de 40 horas para estar a punto en Malasia, en el caso que diese esta posibilidad.

Por diferentes circunstancias esto no ha sido posible, pero el equipo confía en la posibilidad de darle la oportunidad de subirse a la Motogp en un breve periodo de tiempo.

La juventud y velocidad del piloto hace que el Reale Avintia Racing, le vea como un futuro candidato dentro de la estructura y poder soñar en acompañarlo a la categoria reina en las proximas temporadas.

The Reale Avintia Arizona 77 will dispute this weekend in the Circuit of Sepang the last out of the three races of this year’s overseas races in Asia. It will also be the second last of the season before coming back to european soil for the GP de la Comunitat Valenciana by November time.

Stefano Nepa arrives in the Malaysian GP with high expectations after racing with the head group all race long in last weekend’s race in Phillip Island when he finished 10th.

“We arrive in Sepang, last oversea race, after a very positive weekend in Phillip Island. This weekend we will try to repeat the same performance that we had last time out in Australia. For us it would be really important to be in Q2 already on friday.”

El Reale Avintia Arizona 77 disputará este fin de semana en el Circuito de Sepang (Malasia) la última de las tres carreras que han conformado la gira asiática de este año y la penúltima prueba de la temporada antes de regresar a suelo europeo para la disputa del GP de la Comunitat Valenciana el 17 de noviembre.

Concebido para la velocidad y el espectáculo, el circuito internacional de Sepang es uno de los mejores del mundo. Fue construido en el corazón de un inmenso complejo que comprende un hotel, un campo de golf, comercios y otras infraestructuras deportivas y costó más de 50 millones de libras esterlinas. Stefano Nepa, por su parte, llega a la carrera del Gran Premio de Malasia con altas expectativas después de haber estado rodando con el grupo de cabeza durante toda la carrera de Phillip Island la semana pasada y finalizar en 10ª posición.

“Llegamos a Sepang, última carrera de la gira asiática, después de un fin de semana muy positivo en Phillip Island. Este fin de semana intentaremos repetir las mismas prestaciones que mostramos en la última carrera en el Gran Premio de Australia. Para nosotros sería muy importante entrar en la Q2 ya el viernes.”

The Reale Avintia Racing Team concludes an Australian Grand Prix that leaves a bittersweet taste to the team. Karel Abraham scored two points after finishing 14th. Tito Rabat, who was suffering from physical problems, had to retire at the beginning of the race.

It’s been an intense Sunday at Phillip Island. After strong and threatening winds blowing at the Australian circuit on Saturday, the decision was taken to cancel and postpone qualifying until Sunday morning. Karel Abraham, who started 16th in the grid, has managed to cross the finish line in 14th position, adding two important points after some difficult last races. The Czech rider has reached a good pace throughout the race that has allowed him to finish in the top fifteen. Tito Rabat had to retire with twenty-three laps to go due to problems with his right hand that he has since Japan. The Spanish rider tried to follow the pace of the race, but the strong pain in his hand made it impossible for him to finish.

With no time to rest, the penultimate race of the World Championship and the last of the Asian tour, the Malaysian Grand Prix, will take place next week. The Reale Avintia Racing Team faces the weekend at the Sepang International Circuit with the motivation to score points and to make a good performance before the final race of the season in Valencia.

“Today it was less windy, we wanted to try to get out and try to follow the group, but it was impossible. I had a blow to my hand before Japan, my tendon hurts a little and it’s more than it seems. You have to be careful. We will see if in Malaysia we can go back where we deserve.”

“For sure it was not the best race that we have done this season but it was OK. I’m really happy for the points that are obviously very important. We were still struggling before the start of the race to choose the rear tyre because I was not sure about the conditions and the weather, but finally we chose the soft option, but I’m still not sure if it was better or not. It was very difficult, especially the end of the race where the rear tyre was not working anymore and I was struggling a lot, but we managed it. Also, before the end of the race, I had a big slide, I was very close to crash and I was overtook by Syahrin, but I overtook him back, and unfortunately in the last lap Viñales had a big crash and I took two points which is great and I’m really happy to add more points in the championship. Even though it was not the best race, it was a good race by performance, being there and consistent lap times. We are still aiming to be there one group ahead, I think this is something that we have to achieve.”

The Australian Grand Prix ends with a spectacular performance by Stefano Nepa. A brilliant comeback of the Italian rider of the Reale Avintia Arizona 77 makes him finish in 10th position in Phillip Island.

After passing directly to Q2 and finishing 17th in yesterday’s qualifying, Stefano Nepa received a penalty that relegated him to 29th place on the grid. The Italian rider of the Reale Avintia Arizona 77, who has shown a great pace throughout the weekend, has managed to win several positions in the first few laps and has managed to arrive to the leading group. El Reale Avintia Racing Team concluye un Gran Premio de Australia que deja un sabor agridulce al equipo. Karel Abraham ha logrado dos puntos tras finalizar en 14ª posición. Tito Rabat, que arrastraba problemas físicos, ha tenido que abandonar en los primeros compases de la carrera.

Ha sido un domingo intenso en Phillip Island. Tras los fuertes y amenazantes vientos que soplaban en el circuito australiano el sábado, se tomó la decisión de cancelar y aplazar la clasificación al domingo por la mañana. Karel Abraham, que partía en 16ª posición, ha logrado cruzar la línea de meta en 14ª plaza, sumando dos importantes puntos a su casillero tras unas últimas carreras complicadas. El piloto checo ha mantenido un buen ritmo durante toda la carrera que le ha permitido finalizar entre los quince primeros. Por su parte, Tito Rabat ha tenido que abandonar a falta de veintitrés vueltas para el final debido a los problemas que arrastra en su mano derecha desde Japón. El piloto español ha intentado seguir el ritmo de carrera, pero el fuerte dolor en su mano le ha hecho imposible poder finalizar.

Sin tiempo para descansar, la semana que viene se disputará la penúltima carrera del mundial y la última de la gira asiática, el Gran Premio de Malasia. El Reale Avintia Racing Team encara el fin de semana en el Circuito Internacional de Sepang con la motivación de volver a sumar puntos y de realizar una buena actuación antes de encarar la última carrera de la temporada en Valencia.

“Hoy hacia menos viento, queríamos probar de salir e intentar seguir al grupo, pero ha sido imposible. Tuve un golpe en la mano antes de Japón, me duele un poco el tendón y es más de lo que parece. Hay que ir con cuidado. A ver si en Malasia podemos volver a donde nos toca.”

“No ha sido la mejor carrera que hemos hecho esta temporada, pero ha estado bien. Estoy muy contento por los puntos, ya que obviamente son muy importantes. Antes de la salida de la carrera seguíamos teniendo dudas para elegir el neumático trasero porque no estaba seguro de las condiciones y del tiempo, pero finalmente elegimos la opción de la goma blanda, pero todavía no estoy seguro de si era la mejor o no. Ha sido muy difícil, sobre todo al final de la carrera, donde el neumático trasero ya no funcionaba y tenía muchas dificultades, pero lo hemos conseguido. Además, justo al final de la carrera, la moto me ha derrapado, he estado muy cerca de caerme y Syahrin me ha adelantado, pero por suerte le conseguí adelantar otra vez, y desafortunadamente en la última vuelta Viñales tuvo una gran caída y me llevé dos puntos, lo que es genial y estoy muy contento de poder sumar más puntos en el campeonato. Aunque no fue la mejor, fue una buena carrera por rendimiento, por estar allí y por tiempos de vuelta constantes. Seguimos aspirando a estar un grupo por delante, creo que esto es algo que tenemos que conseguir”.

Finaliza el Gran Premio de Australia con una espectacular actuación de Stefano Nepa. Una brillante remontada del piloto italiano del Reale Avintia Arizona 77 le hace finalizar en 10ª posición en Phillip Island.

Tras pasar directamente a la Q2 y lograr la 17ª posición en la clasificación de ayer, Stefano Nepa recibió una sanción que le relegó hasta la 29ª plaza de la parrilla. El piloto italiano del Reale Avintia Arizona 77, que ha mostrado un gran ritmo durante todo el fin de semana, ha conseguido ganar varias posiciones en las primeras vueltas y ha logrado colocarse en el amplio grupo de cabeza. Gracias a la consistencia y la buena gestión que ha tenido durante toda la carrera, ha podido cruzar la línea de meta 10º, remontando un total de diecinueve posiciones. De esta manera, Stefano Nepa concluye un positivo fin de semana en Phillip Island.

Sin tiempo para descansar, el Reale Avintia Arizona 77 ya encara la que será la penúltima carrera del Mundial y la última de la gira asiática con mucha motivación, el Gran Premio de Malasia, que se celebrará en una semana en el Circuito Internacional de Sepang.

“Ha sido un fin de semana muy positivo después de la penalización de doce posiciones. No pensé que podría volver a recuperar todas estas posiciones y acabar a solo dos segundos del primero. Gracias a los chicos porque no se rindieron. Yo también creí en ello, aunque no era fácil comenzar el último y remontar. Hubo muchas vueltas de adelantamientos realmente luchadas. Ahora tenemos que seguir así y ser un poco más fuertes para acercarnos a los primeros. Muchísimas gracias a todo el equipo, están haciendo muy buen trabajo. Gracias a mi familia y a los patrocinadores, nos vemos en Sepang.”
