El espectacular Circuito de las Américas será el escenario este fin de semana de la tercera cita del Campeonato del Mundo de MotoGP. Los pilotos del equipo Reale Avintia Racing, Héctor Barberá y Loris Baz, llegan a Estados Unidos con muchas ganas después de sumar puntos en las dos primeras carreras en Qatar y en Argentina.

Pero este fin de semana en Texas, los pilotos de Reale Avintia Racing quieren dar un paso más para luchar por terminar entre los diez primeros, en una pista que puede favorecer a las características de sus Ducati Desmosedici GP.

Con 5.513 metros, es uno de los circuitos más largos del campeonato y cuenta con 20 curvas de todo tipo que ponen a prueba la puesta a punto de las motos y la preparación física de los pilotos.

“Llegamos al Circuito de las Américas que creo que es una pista que se adapta bien a la Ducati, tiene curvas rápidas y rectas donde la potencia es importante. Yo no estoy en mi mejor momento encima de la moto, pero creo que en esta carrera podemos marcar un punto de inflexión para cambiar esta situación. Físicamente ya estoy fuerte y solo me falta encontrar el límite de esta moto para volver a estar cerca de los primeros.”

“Espero seguir en la misma línea que en las dos primeras carreras, tenemos que seguir trabajando en varios puntos en la moto, pero veremos cómo va. Tenemos varias ideas que probaremos durante los entrenamientos y creo que después de dos carreras buenas en Qatar y Argentina, creo que podremos hacerlo bien. El circuito me gusta y aunque pierdo un poco en las rectas, estoy en un buen momento y espero poder hacer un buen trabajo.”

La segona cita del Campionat del Món de MotoGP disputada al circuit de Termas de Rio Hondo no ha complert les expectatives dels pilots de l’equip Reale Avintia Racing. Loris Baz, qui sortia novè després d’una bona actuació en els entrenaments cronometrats, ha perdut totes les seves opcions al veure involucrat en la caiguda de Jorge Lorenzo al primer revolt. El pilot francès de 24 anys s’ha quedat l’últim, i tot i que ha aconseguit superar a molts pilots, ha castigat molt el seu pneumàtic Michelin davanter i, encara que ho ha tingut molt a prop, no ha pogut lluitar per acabar entre els deu primers.

Per Héctor Barberá al Gran Premi d’Argentina tampoc ha estat fàcil. Durant tot el cap de setmana ha treballat amb el seu equip a la recerca d’una posada a punt que li permetés trobar-se còmode amb la seva moto. Per tant, acabar tretzè i sumar una altra vegada punts ha estat el més positiu en aquest Gran Premi.

En dues setmanes el Mundial viatjarà al Circuit de les Amèriques a Texas, on els pilots de l’equip Reale Avintia Racing, tornaran amb més força. El Campionat del Món de MotoGP no ha fet més que començar i Barberá i Baz saben que poden donar molta guerra.

“Estic decebut perquè crec que avui podríem fer fet una gran carrera. Però he perdut totes les meves opcions quan Jorge ha caigut just davant al primer revolt, he hagut d’anar-me’n fora de la pista per no atropellar-i he perdut molt de temps. Després he anat al màxim per recuperar i he aconseguit arribar al grup de Miller i Abraham, però el meu pneumàtic davanter estava destrossat i no he pogut atacar. És una pena perquè crec que tenia ritme per estar amb Folger i Petrucci. però en general crec que ha estat un cap de setmana força positiu, l’equip ha fet un grandíssim treball i hem millorat una altra vegada. A Austin espero tenir més sort.”

“Ha estat un cap de setmana molt complicat i no hi ha hagut manera de domar la ‘fera’. Hem provat tots els reglatges que permet aquesta moto; no he fet dues sortides a pista amb la mateixa configuració i estem en un punt on queda clar que la moto no es pot adaptar la moto al meu estil. Per això tinc clar que sóc jo el que he de adaptar-me a la moto. Ja l’any passat quan la vaig provar no ens va anar bé i durant tot l’hivern m’ha costat moltíssim . la primera cursa a Qatar no era una referència perquè estava malament de la clavícula, però les sensacions van ser molt dolentes. però aquí ja estava bé i no han millorat. en 25 voltes no hi ha hagut un revolt on hi hagi anat bé i així és impossible , perquè vaig tot el temps barallant-me amb la moto.”

Reale Avintia Racing riders Loris Baz and Hector Barbera did not meet their expectations in the second round of the MotoGP World Championship at Termas de Río Hondo circuit. Loris Baz, who started from ninth place on the grid following a solid performance during free practice and qualifying, lost all his chances of battling for a strong result when Jorge Lorenzo crashed in front of him at the first corner. The 24 year-old French rider was last after the incident, and although he was able to recover and pass many riders, he couldn’t fight as he consumed his front Michelin tyre when he pushed to regain positions. He was close to finish inside the top ten, but still held eleventh place when the chequered flag came down.

For Hector Barbera, the Grand Prix of Argentina was not easy either. He worked with his team all weekend long to find a good base set-up of his bike, but he has never been comfortable riding his Desmosedici. Finishing 13^th was a positive result considering his difficulties.

The MotoGP World Championship will head to the Circuit of the Americas in just two weeks, where both Reale Avintia Racing riders will try to come back stronger. The championship has just started and Barbera and Baz know that they are able to perform much better.

“I’m disappointed because I think that we missed a great opportunity today. I’ve lost all chances when Jorge crashed in front of me and I was forced to run off the track to avoid running over him. I lost too much time and although I gave my best to recover when I caught Miller and Abraham, my front tyre was destroyed, so I couldn’t attack. It is a shame because today I had the pace to be with Folger and Petrucci. But overall the weekend has been quite positive, my team did a superb job and we improved every time I went out. I hope to be lucky in Austin.”

“It was a really difficult weekend for me, and I was not able to tame ‘the beast’. We tried all possible settings on the bike; I didn’t get out on the track with the same configuration twice over the whole weekend and now it’s clear that we can’t adapt this bike to my riding style. So it is me who has to adapt to the bike. When I raced with this bike last season, it was already hard for me to get the right feeling and during the winter test I had the same issues again. The first race at Qatar was not a reference as I was recovering from my collarbone injury, but still, the feeling was bad. Here I was back to full fitness and the feeling was the same. In 25 laps I never did a single corner as I would like to. Riding like this is really difficult, because I’m fighting with the bike all the time.”

La segunda cita del Campeonato del Mundo de MotoGP disputada en el circuito de Termas de Río Hondo no ha cumplido las expectativas de los pilotos del equipo Reale Avintia Racing. Loris Baz, quien partía noveno tras una buena actuación en los entrenamientos cronometrados, ha perdido todas sus opciones al verse involucrado en la caída de Jorge Lorenzo en la primera curva. El piloto francés de 24 años se ha quedado el último, y aunque ha conseguido superar a muchos pilotos, ha castigado mucho su neumático Michelin delantero y, aunque lo ha tenido muy cerca, no ha podido pelear por terminar entre los diez primeros.

Para Héctor Barberá el Gran Premio de Argentina tampoco ha sido fácil. Durante todo el fin de semana ha trabajado con su equipo en busca de una puesta a punto que le permitiera encontrarse cómodo con su moto. Por lo tanto, terminar decimotercero y sumar otra vez puntos ha sido lo más positivo en este Gran Premio.

En dos semanas el Mundial viajará al Circuito de las Américas en Texas, donde los pilotos del equipo Reale Avintia Racing, volverán con más fuerza. El Campeonato del Mundo de MotoGP no ha hecho más que empezar y, Barberá y Baz, saben que pueden dar mucha guerra.

“Estoy decepcionado porque creo que hoy podríamos hacer hecho una gran carrera. Pero he perdido todas mis opciones cuando Jorge se ha caído justo delante en la primera curva, he tenido que irme fuera de la pista para no atropellarle y he perdido mucho tiempo. Después he apretado al máximo para recuperar y he conseguido llegar al grupo de Miller y Abraham, pero mi neumático delantero estaba destrozado y no he podido atacar. Es una pena porque creo que tenía ritmo para estar con Folger y Petrucci. Pero en general creo que ha sido un fin de semana bastante positivo, el equipo ha hecho un grandísimo trabajo y hemos mejorado otra vez. En Austin espero tener más suerte.”

“Ha sido un fin de semana muy complicado y no ha habido manera de domar a la ‘fiera’. Hemos probado todos los reglajes que permite esta moto; no he hecho dos salidas a pista con la misma configuración y estamos en un punto donde queda claro que la moto no se puede adaptar la moto a mi estilo. Por eso tengo claro que soy yo el que tengo que adaptarme a la moto. Ya el año pasado cuando la probé no nos fue bien y durante todo el invierno me ha costado muchísimo. La primera carrera en Qatar no era una referencia porque estaba mal de la clavícula, pero las sensaciones fueron muy malas. Pero aquí ya estaba bien y no han mejorado. En 25 vueltas no ha habido una curva donde haya ido bien y así es imposible, porque voy todo el tiempo peleándome con la moto.”

El pilot de l’equip Reale Avintia Racing, Loris Baz, eixirà demà des de la tercera línia de la graella al Gran Premi d’Argentina després d’aconseguir el novè millor temps en els entrenaments cronometrats en què la pluja ha estat protagonista. La seva gran volta d’ahir l’ha servit per passar directament a la Q2 i el francès de 24 anys no ha deixat passar la seva oportunitat. Baz està preparat sigui quina sigui la condició per a la cursa a 25 voltes de demà, perquè a més d’anar fort en mullat, aquest matí al FP3 ha tingut un ritme ràpid i constant amb l’asfalt sec.Per el seu company al Reale Avintia Racing, Héctor Barberá, el dia no ha estat gens senzill. Amb feina per fer en la posada a punt de la seva Ducati Desmosedici GP16, l’espanyol no ha pogut passar el tall en el FP3, i amb l’asfalt mullat en la Q1, no ha acabat de trobar molt bones sensacions. Barberà sortirà demà des de la 21a posició, tot i que espera poder remuntar durant la carrera.

“Estic content, però sobretot per com ha anat el FP3 aquest matí, perquè he tingut molt bon ritme en sec rodant amb Márquez. Però després a la Q2 he acabat una mica decebut, perquè en aquestes condicions sempre ho faig prou bé. Però al final estava molt sec per anar amb els pneumàtics de pluja i amb el meu pes he destrossat el davanter. Encara que la veritat és que la tercera línia és per estar contents, perquè tenim molt bon ritme i si fem una bona sortida crec que puc estar amb els de davant. Demà veurem fins on podem arribar.”

“Avui ha estat un dia complicat. Al FP3 havíem de provar diverses coses i no hem tingut temps per a res, perquè després de cinc voltes s’ha posat a ploure. Després al FP4 la condició era estranya, no estava del tot mullat i no hem anat tan malament. però en la Q1 hem provat una moto diferent a la primera sortida i després en la que més m’agradava ens hem equivocat amb l’elecció del pneumàtic. no vull posar excuses, però encara no tenim una base sobre la qual treballar i així és molt difícil trobar bones sensacions. A veure demà què condicions ens trobem, però com sempre, intentaré fer-ho el millor que pugui.”

Reale Avintia Racing rider Loris Baz will start tomorrow’s Grand Prix of Argentina from the third row of the grid after clocking the ninth fastest time in today’s wet qualifying session. He secured a place in Q2 thanks to his great lap time from yesterday and the 24 year-old French got the maximum out of this opportunity. Baz is ready for whatever the weather will bring for the 25-lap-race tomorrow. He was strong in dry and wet conditions, which he also proved this morning in FP3, where he was fast and consistant on a dry track.

It was not an easy day for his teammate in Reale Avintia Racing, Hector Barbera. With some work left to do on the set-up of his Ducati Desmosedici GP16, the Spaniard was not able to male the decisive step in FP3. In wet conditions during Q1, he lacked the right feeling riding his bike. Barbera will start the race from the 21^st place of the grid, but he is confident of improving during the race.

“I’m happy, but more so with my performance in FP3 this morning, because I was able to set a fast pace riding with Marquez. In Q2 I was disappointed, because I’m always fast in these conditions, but at the end the track was not wet enough for rain tyres and due to my weight, the front tyre was destroyed. To be honest, I have to be happy with the third row, because I have a strong pace and if I can get a good start, I think it will be possible to go with the front runners. We will see what we can do in the race tomorrow.”

“Today was a difficult day. In FP3 we had too many things to test but we had not much time, as the rain came after just five laps. In FP4 the conditions were strange, it was not full wet and the grip was not too bad. But in Q1 we started with a different bike for my first exit and then we chose the wrong tyre with the bike I liked. I don’t want to make excuses, but we are far from finding the base set-up of this bike, and this makes it really difficult to find the right feeling. We will see what happens tomorrow. As always, I’ll give my maximum to get the best possible result.”

El piloto del equipo Reale Avintia Racing, Loris Baz, saldrá mañana desde la tercera línea de la parrilla en el Gran Premio de Argentina después de lograr el noveno mejor tiempo en los entrenamientos cronometrados en los que la lluvia ha sido protagonista. Su gran vuelta de ayer la ha servido para pasar directamente a la Q2 y el francés de 24 años no ha dejado pasar su oportunidad. Baz está preparado sea cuál sea la condición para la carrera a 25 vueltas de mañana, porque además de ir fuerte en mojado, esta mañana en el FP3 ha tenido un ritmo rápido y constante con el asfalto seco.

Para su compañero en el Reale Avintia Racing, Héctor Barberá, el día no ha sido nada sencillo. Con trabajo por hacer en la puesta a punto de su Ducati Desmosedici GP16, el español no ha podido pasar el corte en el FP3, y con el asfalto mojado en la Q1, no ha terminado de encontrar muy buenas sensaciones. Barberá saldrá mañana desde la 21ª posición, aunque espera poder remontar durante la carrera.

“Estoy contento, pero sobre todo por cómo ha ido el FP3 esta mañana, porque he tenido muy buen ritmo en seco rodando con Márquez. Pero después en la Q2 he terminado un poco decepcionado, porque en estas condiciones siempre lo hago bastante bien. Pero al final estaba muy seco para ir con los neumáticos de lluvia y con mi peso he destrozado el delantero. Aunque la verdad es que la tercera línea es para estar contentos, porque tenemos muy buen ritmo y si hacemos una buena salida creo que puedo estar con los de delante. Mañana veremos hasta dónde podemos llegar.”

“Hoy ha sido un día complicado. En el FP3 teníamos que probar varias cosas y no hemos tenido tiempo para nada, porque después de cinco vueltas se ha puesto a llover. Después en el FP4 la condición era extraña, no estaba del todo mojado y no hemos ido tan mal. Pero en la Q1 hemos probado una moto distinta en la primera salida y después en la que más me gustaba nos hemos equivocado con la elección del neumático. No quiero poner excusas, pero todavía no tenemos una base sobre la que trabajar y así es muy difícil encontrar buenas sensaciones. A ver mañana qué condiciones nos encontramos, pero como siempre, trataré de hacerlo lo mejor que pueda.”

Els pilots de l’equip Reale Avintia Racing, Loris Baz i Héctor Barberá han acabat el primer dia a l’Argentina amb diferents sensacions. Al matí Barberá ha acabat vuitè i confiat en poder millorar en la sessió de la tarda, mentrestant Baz, ha tingut un problema electrònic en una de les seves motos ha acabat més endarrerit.

Però a la tarda ha passat el contrari. El pilot francès de l’equip Reale Avintia Racing ha donat un gran pas endavant, i després de millorar els seus temps amb el pneumàtic del darrere dur de Michelin, ha sortit a l’atac amb el tou i s’ha fet amb el sisè millor temps del dia. Per a Barberá l’última sessió del dia ha estat més complicada i al final ha acabat 15è en la combinada de temps. La primera jornada al circuit de Termas de Río Hondo ha estat molt disputada amb quinze pilots en menys d’un segon.

“Aquest matí hem tingut un problema en una moto, però no ha estat res. A més aquí la primera tanda només serveix per netejar la pista i no era molt important. A la tarda hem provat diverses coses que han funcionat molt bé, he fet molt bon temps amb el pneumàtic del darrere dur, i al final he muntat el tou i darrere de Maverick he fet un temps molt bo. Crec que podria haver estat millor amb el dur davant, però estic molt content. Cada vegada que surto a la pista millorem i això és el més important. Gaudeixo molt a sobre de la moto i tot i que tinc gastroenteritis, el dia ha estat molt positiu”

“No estic content. Al matí ha anat més o menys bé, però a la tarda ens hem planificat malament i hem fet proves que no han funcionat. Tinc poc a dir, l’única cosa positiva és que anant malament, he fet el temps sol i tampoc estem tan lluny. Tenim clara la direcció per demà i l’objectiu matí al FP3 serà passar el tall per entrar a la Q2. Anem a intentar-ho, i si no ho aconseguim, estic segur que podem estar molt a prop perquè tinc bones sensacions i aquí les Ducati funcionen molt bé. “

Reale Avintia Racing riders Loris Baz and Hector Barbera finished the first day in Argentina with mixed feelings. In the morning session Barbera ended with the eighth fastest time and was confident of improving in the afternoon, whilst Baz suffered an electronic issue on one of his bikes and finished way back in the timesheets.

Things went the opposite way in the afternoon session, with Reale Avintia Racing French rider Baz moving up through the ranks. After a significant improvement with the rear hard Michelin tyre, he went into soft tyre time attack mode and got the sixth fastest lap time of the day. For Barbera, the last session was quite difficult and he finished 15^th overall in the combined standings. The opening day at Termas de Río Hondo has really tight with top 15 riders in less than a second.

“I had a problem with one of my bikes this morning, but it was not a big issue. Also, the first session here is only useful to clean the track, so it was not a drama. In the afternoon we tried some different settings and all of them were better, so I was able to set a good pace on hard tyres, and finally I went out with the rear soft and with Maverick’s reference I did a really good lap. I think it was possible to go even faster if I had used the hard front, but I’m still very happy. I have improved every time I got on track, and this is most important. I enjoy riding the bike and although I have an upset stomach, the day was really positive.”

“I’m not happy. In the morning I went more or less okay, but this afternoon we didn’t program the session in the right way and we tried a wrong set-up that was useless. I don’t have too much to say, the only positive thing today was that even like this, I was able to set a decent lap time on my own and we are not so far from the fastest rider. We have a clear idea for tomorrow and my target will be to get into the top 10 in FP3 and go straight to Q2. I’ll try, and if I can’t, I’m sure that we will be really close, because my feeling is good and the Ducatis are working really well at this track.”

Reale Avintia Racing riders Hector Barbera and Loris Baz will cross the Atlantic Ocean this week for the Grand Prix of Argentina, the second race of the season.

Following a positive start of the year, Hector Barbera heads to Termas de Rio Hondo in a good mood. The 13^th place of Qatar was the best he was able to fight for in his physical condition and after losing the last part of the winter test. But in Argentina, where he fought for fourth place one year ago, Barbera expects to be battling for a Top Ten result with his Ducati Desmosedici GP16.

His Reale Avintia Racing teammate Loris Baz also looks forward to the arrival in Termas. Over the GP weekend in Argentina, he wants to progress the same way he did during the winter tests and the first race of the season. The 24-year-old French rider was twelfth in the opening round of the season and he is eager to make another step in Argentina and to fight for a Top Ten result as well.

“We head to Argentina physically stronger than in Qatar. My collarbone has almost recovered completely and I was able to train harder during the last week. We go to this race with high expectations, which is very different from those ahead of the first round of the season. I like the circuit. Last year I finished fifth and I think it will be possible to get a great result again. We feel strong and I am confident about our chances to do a good race on Sunday.”

“In the first race everything went really well, and that’s why I’m looking forward to race in Argentina. In Qatar I probably did my best dry race in MotoGP, but even though, my feeling was not the best. I’m convinced that it is possible to do even better. I love the layout of the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit and I want to do a good race. We will see how the weekend goes, we will keep working step by step to get the best set up and I’ll try to enjoy riding my bike.”
