MotoGP GP de Valencia – Ricardo Tormo

Reale Avintia Racing rider Xavier Simeon completed the first day of practice for the Valencia Grand Prix with good feelings in the rain and finished in the top 15 despite scrashing twice.
In the morning session, he was very fast and consistently in the top 10, but when he pushed even harder to find the limit he had a high-side crash in turn 13. After passing through the hospital to rule out injuries to his head, Simeon returned to action in FP2. Despite the difficult conditions with even harder rain and despite suffering another crash, he finished 11th in the afternoon session and ended up 15th in the combines standings of the first day.
Jordi Torres didn’t have an easy day. His injured left thumb didn’t bother him too much on the bike, but the conditions were definitely too dangerous to take any risks. Without pushing too hard, the Spanish rider gained more knowledge about the behavior of his Ducati and the Michelin tyres in the wet. Tomorrow he hopes to take a step forward and get closer to the riders in front of him.
FP3 will start at 9:55 am on Saturday, followed by FP4 at 13:30 pm and qualifying from 14:10 pm.

“The conditions were difficult, but I enjoyed riding a lot. I had two crashes, and the first one this morning was a heavy one. I lost control on the penultimate corner and I had a high-side. I hit the asphalt quite hard and went to the hospital in Valencia to make sure that everything was all right in my head. Fortunately everything is fine, at least the way it was before the crash! In the afternoon my feelings were good again and my second crash was a bit strange, because I lost the rear on the corner entry. But I’m fine and tomorrow I want to continue and improve”.

“The day went very well, much better than I expected. If they had told me that I would be here racing a week after the operation, I would not have believed it. I have to thank Dr. Mir, Macna for making me a special glove and also my team because they have done a great job to make things easier for me on the bike. They have made a different handlebar to support my injured hand and it works very well. At the beginning it was like playing dice, but everything worked out well. The wet conditions were difficult but also an advantage for us because you don’T have to brake as hard and you need less force to handle the bike. It my first time in the rain with a MotoGP bike and with the Michelin wet tyres and although the difference is very big, I found the right feeling and tomorrow we will improve for sure.”

MotoGP GP de Valencia – Ricardo Tormo

El piloto del equipo Reale Avintia Racing, Xavier Simeon ha completado el primer día de entrenamientos para el Gran Premio de Valencia con buenas sensaciones bajo la lluvia y, a pesar de sufrir dos caídas, ha terminado entre los 15 primeros y con ganas de mejorar.

Por la mañana ha sido muy rápido rodando regularmente en el top 10, pero cuando ha apretado para buscar el límite lo ha encontrado cayendo con violencia en la curva 13. Tras pasar por el hospital para descartar lesiones en la cabeza, Simeon ha vuelto a subirse en su moto para seguir mejorando en la FP2. A pesar de las difíciles condiciones y sufrir otra caída, ha terminado undécimo y 15º en la combinada del día.

Para Jordi Torres no ha sido un día fácil, es cierto que su dedo no le molesta mucho en la moto, pero sin duda que las condiciones no eran las mejores para arriesgar. El piloto español está satisfecho y ha conocido mejor el comportamiento de su Ducati y de los neumáticos Michelin en mojado. Mañana espera dar un paso adelante y acercarse a los pilotos que tiene por delante.

El FP3 comenzará mañana a las 9:55h, con el FP4 a las 13:30h y los cronometrados desde las 14:10h.

“La verdad es que las condiciones eran difíciles pero encima de la moto he disfrutado mucho. Es cierto que he sufrido dos caídas, pero sobre todo la de esta mañana ha sido dura. Me he caído apretando en la penúltima curva y he salido por arriba. He ido al hospital de Valencia para ver que tenía todo bien en la cabeza porque he golpead el asfalto bastante fuerte, pero afortunadamente todo está bien, el menos como estaba antes de la caída. Por la tarde las sensaciones han sido otra vez buenas y la caída ha sido más extraña, por que se me ha ido de atrás entrando en la curva. Estoy bien y mañana tengo ganas de seguir y mejorar».

“Ha ido muy bien y la verdad es que me lo esperaba mucho peor. Si me dicen que iba a estar aquí corriendo una semana después de la operación no me lo habría creído. Tengo que dar las gracias al Dr. Mir, a Magna por hacerme un guante especial y también a mi equipo porque ha hecho un gran trabajo para facilitarme las cosas encima de la moto. Han hecho un puño diferente para apoyar lo mínimo con la mano operada y funciona muy bien. Al principio era como jugárnoslo a los dados, pero todo ha ido genial y que sea mojado también nos beneficia porque los movimientos son más suaves. También es la primera vez que ruedo en MotoGP y con los Michelin en mojado y, aunque la diferencia es muy grande, iremos mejorando.”

Reale Avintia Academy 77 Moto3 – GP of Valencia – Ricardo Tormo

Reale Avintia Academy 77 rider, Vicente Pérez, finished 28th on the first rainy day of practice for the Grand Prix of Valencia.

The local rider started with a lot of enthusiasm in wet conditions and, in the morning, he was close to the fastest pace, but he crashed out and this cutted his evolution eventualy finishing FP1 in 16th position.
In afternoon’s FP2, the conditions of the track have been the same and the rain didn’t stop. Vicente was set to improved and he was searching a fast lap, but he crashed again and the rider from Cullera finished the day more than three seconds behind the fastest rider.
Moto3 action will start tomorrow at 9:00am with FP3 and Pérez is determined to improve his feelling ahead of the las Qualifying practice of the season, scheduled for 12:35pm.

“It was a difficult day because I have crashed twice and, although fortunately they have not had consequences, you always loose a little bit of confidence. We have to turn the page and think about tomorrow Saturday, because we know we have the potential to be faster. I race at home, the set-up is good and if the conditions are bad again, we will have to adapt in the best way to improve. This is the target tomorrow.”

Reale Avintia Academy 77 Moto3 – GP de Valencia – Ricardo Tormo

El piloto del equipo Reale Avintia Academy 77, Vicente Pérez, ha terminado 28º el primer día en entrenamientos libres para el Gran Premio de la Comunidad Valenciana que, como se preveía, ha estado pasado por agua.

El piloto local ha comenzado con ganas bajo la lluvia y, por la mañana, se ha dejado ver por los puestos delanteros, pero una caída ha cortado su evolución y finalmente ha terminado el FP1 en 16ª posición.

Por la tarde en el FP2, se han mantenido las condiciones de la pista y Vicente ha salido dispuesto a mejorar, pero tras sufrir otra caída cuando intentaba mejorar su vuelta rápida, el piloto de Cullera no ha podido mejorar sus registros de la mañana y ha terminado a más de tres segundos del más rápido.

Mañana a las 9:00h tendrá lugar el FP3 de Moto3 donde Pérez y el equipo confían en mejorar antes del clasificatorio previsto para las 12:35.

“Ha sido un día difícil porque he sufrido un par de caídas y, aunque afortunadamente no han tenido consecuencias, siempre te restan un poco de confianza. Hay que pasar página y pensar en mañana sábado, porque sabemos que tenemos potencial para estar mucho más arriba. Aquí corro en casa, la puesta a punto es buena y si las condiciones vuelven a ser malas, tendremos que adaptarnos de la mejor manera y mejorar. Espero que así sea.”
