Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 and Avintia VR46 Academy finished the first day of the Grande Prémio Brembo do Algarve at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.

Niccolò Antonelli finished 6th in the combined practice after the first two free practice sessions, which puts him in provisional positions for direct access to Q2. The VR46 Academy rider set a best time of 1:48.521, set during the afternoon session.

Carlos Tatay finished 13th in the free practice results, a position that would allow him to qualify directly for Q2. The Valencian rider felt comfortable on his bike and felt no pain in his ankle, after the problems it caused him during the race of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. Tatay set his best time of the day in the second free practice, stopping the clock at 1:48.970.

Tomorrow at 10:00 (CET+1) the third free practice of the Moto3 class will start, before to the qualifying of the Grande Prémio Brembo do Algarve.

“Today went quite well. We had some minor problems, these things happen. The important thing is that we are 6th and we are in the top 14. Tomorrow we have to do a good qualifying to start the race from the top.”

“It was a positive day. I wasn’t able to complete a 100% clean lap, but I feel good and I have a good feeling. Tomorrow we’ll keep working and try to get a good qualifying position.”

El Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 y el Avintia VR46 Academy han finalizado el primer día del Grande Prémio Brembo do Algarve en el Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.

Niccolò Antonelli ha concluído 6º en la clasificación combinada tras los dos primeros entrenamientos libres, lo que le coloca en posiciones provisionales de acceso directo a la Q2. El piloto de la VR46 Academy ha marcado un mejor tiempo de 1:48.521, conseguido durante la sesión de la tarde.

Por su parte, Carlos Tatay ha finalizado 13º en la clasificación combinada, posición que le permitiría disputar la Q2 de manera directa. El piloto valenciano se ha sentido cómodo encima de su moto y sin notar dolor en su tobillo, después de los problemas que le causó durante la carrera del Gran Premio de la Emilia Romagna. Tatay ha marcado su mejor registro del día en el segundo entrenamiento libre, parando el cronómetro en 1:48.970.

Mañana a las 10:00 (CET+1) dará comienzo el tercer entrenamiento libre de la categoría de Moto3, previo a la clasificación del Grande Prémio Brembo do Algarve.

“Hoy ha ido bastante bien. Hemos tenido algunos problemas sin mayor importancia, son cosas que pasan. Lo importante es que somos 6º y estamos dentro del top 14. Mañana tendremos que hacer una buena clasificación para empezar la carrera desde lo más arriba posible.”

“Ha sido un día positivo. No he podido cerrar una vuelta limpia al 100%, pero me siento bien y con buenas sensaciones. Mañana seguiremos trabajando e intentaremos conseguir una buena posición en la clasificación.”

The Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 and the Avintia VR46 Academy arrive this weekend for the second time this year in Portimao and will compete the Grande Prémio Brembo do Algarve, the penultimate round of the 2021 season.

Niccolò Antonelli returns to Portugal as 7th in the Moto3 world standings. The Italian was 6th in the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix after taking pole position. The VR46 Academy rider will be looking for another good result in Portimao.

Carlos Tatay is 22nd in the world standings with 28 points. The Valencian rider had a difficult weekend in Misano, where he was unable to complete the race as he suffered again from his ankle injury with 11 laps to go. Tatay will be looking for a return to the points at Portimao.

On Friday from 10:00 (CET+1), Antonelli and Tatay will contest the first free practice of the Grande Prémio Brembo do Algarve.

“This weekend, as always, we will try to start strong from the first day. It looks like we will have a sunny weekend and therefore we will have time to work. The aim will be to be in the top five on Sunday, so we will have to do a good job and get a good qualifying result.”

“I’m very motivated for these last two races of the year. Let’s give it our all, keep working and enjoy the weekend to get a good result.”

El Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 y el Avintia VR46 Academy aterrizan este fin de semana por segunda vez este año en Portimao y afrontarán el Grande Prémio Brembo do Algarve, penúltima cita de la temporada 2021.

Niccolò Antonelli regresa a Portugal como 7º clasificado en la clasificación general de Moto3. El italiano fue 6º en el Gran Premio de la Emilia Romagna tras conseguir la pole position. El piloto de la VR46 Academy buscará otro buen resultado en Portimao.

Por su parte, Carlos Tatay es 22º en la clasificación con 28 puntos. El piloto valenciano tuvo un fin de semana complicado en Misano, donde no pudo completar la carrera ya que se resintió de su lesión en el tobillo a falta de 11 vueltas para el final. Tatay buscará en Portimao regresar a la zona de puntos.

El viernes a partir de las 10:00 (CET+1), Antonelli y Tatay disputarán el primer entrenamiento libre del Grande Prémio Brembo do Algarve.

“Este fin de semana, como siempre, intentaremos empezar fuerte desde el primer día. Parece que tendremos un fin de semana soleado y, por lo tanto, tendremos tiempo para trabajar. El objetivo será estar en el top 5 el domingo, así que deberemos de hacer un buen trabajo y conseguir un buen resultado en la clasificación.”

“Muy motivado para estas dos últimas carreras del año. A darlo todo, a continuar trabajando y a disfrutar del fin de semana para conseguir un buen resultado.”

The Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 and Avintia VR46 Academy finished the Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna race at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

Niccolò Antonelli was unable to turn pole position into victory. The Italian rider, who dominated most of the race, made a small mistake with 12 laps to go when he was in first position, which made him lose his chances of victory. In the end, Antonelli finished 6th.

“The start of the race was good and everything was going well. I made a small mistake and from that moment, the feeling with the rear was strange. From then on, I didn’t have the pace I had at the start of the race. It was difficult in general, as we hadn’t ridden in dry conditions all weekend. It was a lottery, but we still managed to get a good sixth position.”

“A complicated day. Halfway through the race I felt that my foot couldn’t take the effort, I started to lose mobility and I decided to retire. It wasn’t our weekend, but we’ll keep working for the two races to come.”

Niccolò Antonelli no ha podido transformar la ‘pole position’ en victoria. El piloto italiano, que ha dominado gran parte de la carrera, ha cometido un pequeño error a falta de 12 vueltas para el final cuando rodaba en 1ª posición, que le ha hecho perder las opciones de victoria. Finalmente, Antonelli ha finalizado 6º.

Por su parte, Carlos Tatay ha tenido que abandonar a falta de 11 vueltas para ver la bandera a cuadros. El piloto valenciano se ha vuelto a resentir de la lesión en su tobillo y no ha podido terminar la carrera del Gran Premio de la Emilia Romagna.

Niccolò Antonelli y Carlos Tatay pondrán rumbo al Algarve International Circuit, donde dentro de dos semanas se disputará el Grande Prémio do Algarve, penúltima cita de la temporada.

“El comienzo de la carrera ha sido bueno y todo estaba yendo bien. He cometido un pequeño error y desde ese momento las sensaciones con la parte trasera han sido extrañas. A partir de ahí, no he tenido el ritmo del inicio de carrera. Ha sido complicado en general, ya que en todo el fin de semana aún no habíamos corrido en condiciones de seco. Ha sido una lotería aunque ,de todas formas, hemos conseguido una buena sexta posición.”

“Un día complicado. A mitad de carrera he notado que mi pie no aguantaba el esfuerzo, he empezado a perder movilidad y he decidido retirarme. No ha sido nuestro fin de semana, pero seguiremos trabajando para las dos carreras que quedan.”

The Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 and Avintia VR46 Academy riders successfully completed the Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna qualifying, on another rainy day at the Italian track.

Niccolò Antonelli took his first pole position of the season, making a big difference to his rivals. The Italian, who had to go through Q1, closed his best lap with a time of 1:48.563, more than 6 tenths off the second placed rider. The Avintia VR46 Academy rider will start from 1st position in front of his home crowd.

Carlos Tatay, on the other hand, will start the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix race from 21st position, as he was unable to make the cut in Q1.

Tomorrow at 11:00 the race of the Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna will start, where Antonelli and Tatay will try to cross the finish line in a good position.

“Since I got on the bike I had a good feeling. In these mixed conditions I felt confident and I set myself the goal of going for pole position. I’m very happy to get this result at my home Grand Prix, it’s always nice to do it.”

“It was a difficult day with these weather conditions and with the asphalt so complicated. However, we got experience, we know where to improve and I felt comfortable on the bike. We were very close to make it through to Q2 as I was able to set a good time. It’s time to focus on the race, we know we have potential and I think we can do well. Tomorrow we will have to give our 100%.”

El Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 y el Avintia VR46 Academy han completado con éxito la clasificación del Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna, en otra jornada lluviosa en el trazado italiano.

Niccolò Antonelli ha conseguido su primera ‘pole position’ de la temporada, marcando una gran diferencia respecto a sus rivales. El italiano, que ha tenido que pasar por la Q1, ha cerrado su mejor vuelta con un tiempo de 1:48.563, sacando más de 6 décimas al segundo clasificado. De esta manera, el piloto del Avintia VR46 Academy, arrancará desde la primera posición delante de su afición.

Por su parte, Carlos Tatay, partirá la carrera del Gran Premio de la Emilia Romagna desde la 21ª posición, al no poder superar el corte de la Q1.

Mañana a las 11:00 dará comienzo la carrera del Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna, donde Antonelli y Tatay tratarán de cruzar la línea de meta en una buena posición.

“Desde que me he montado en la moto he tenido buenas sensaciones. En estas condiciones mixtas me he sentido con confianza y me he marcado el objetivo de ir a por la ‘pole position’. Estoy muy contento de conseguir este resultado en mi gran premio de casa, es siempre muy bonito.”

“Ha sido un día complicado con estas condiciones meteorológicas y con el asfalto tan complicado. De todas formas, hemos cogido experiencia, sabemos dónde mejorar y me he sentido cómodo en la moto. Nos ha faltado muy poco para pasar a la Q2 ya que he conseguido un buen tiempo. Toca centrarnos en la carrera, sabemos que tenemos potencial y creo que lo podremos hacer bien. Mañana tocará dar el 100%.”

In the morning practice, Niccolò Antonelli was 10th with a time of 1:53.892. For his part, Carlos Tatay finished 21st, stopping the clock at 1:55.083.

In the afternoon, Antonelli improved his times and set the 4th best time of the session, which allows him to place 6th in the combined practice times after the first day. On the other hand, Tatay made a small step forward and the Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 rider was 20th.

Tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. the third free practice will be held, before to the qualifying session of the Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna.

“Today in the wet was a positive day. We don’t know tomorrow’s conditions, while Sunday looks like good weather. The goal for qualifying will be to try to get the best possible result to have a good position for Sunday’s race.”

“It was a complicated day because of the track conditions, but I really enjoyed myself on the bike. I felt comfortable and we were able to work on our own. Tomorrow will be another day, we’ll see what conditions await us and we’ll keep working for the race.”

Los pilotos de Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 y de Avintia VR46 Academy han completado un primer día del Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna marcado por la lluvia.

En el entreno matinal, Niccolò Antonelli ha sido 10º, con un tiempo de 1:53.892. Por su parte, Carlos Tatay ha finalizado 21º, parando el cronómetro en 1:55.083.

Por la tarde, Antonelli ha mejorado sus tiempos y ha marcado el 4º mejor registro de la sesión, que le permite situarse 6º en la clasificación combinada tras el primer día. Por su parte, Tatay ha dado un pequeño paso adelante y, finalmente, el piloto del Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 ha sido 20º.

Mañana a las 9:00 se disputará el tercer entrenamiento libre, previo a la sesión clasificatoria del Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna.

“Hoy en mojado ha sido un día positivo. No sabemos las condiciones de mañana, mientras que el domingo parece que hará buen tiempo. El objetivo para la clasificación será intentar conseguir el mejor resultado posible para tener una buena posición para la carrera del domingo.”

“Ha sido un día complicado por las condiciones de la pista, pero la verdad que he disfrutado mucho encima de la moto. Me he sentido cómodo y hemos podido trabajar solos. Mañana será otro día, veremos qué condiciones nos esperan y seguiremos trabajando para la carrera.”
