The Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 and Avintia VR46 riders will contest this weekend to the second consecutive Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg, the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich, tenth round of the calendar.

Carlos Tatay, who was unable to get on the bike in the Styrian Grand Prix race due to pain in his right foot, will have another chance to regain his racing rhythm and improve his feeling after his heavy injury. The Spanish rider is currently 25th in the overall standings with 14 points.

VR46 Academy rider Elia Bartolini will replace Antonelli at the Austrian Grand Prix. The Italian returns to the Avintia VR46 team after participating in the Catalan, German and Dutch Grand Prix, replacing Carlos Tatay. On Friday at 9:00, the Moto3 riders will take part in the first free practice of the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich.

El Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 y el Avintia VR46 disputarán este fin de semana el segundo gran premio consecutivo en el Red Bull Ring – Spielberg, el Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich, décima cita del calendario.

Carlos Tatay, que no pudo subirse a la moto en la carrera del Gran Premio de Styria debido al dolor en su pie derecho, volverá a tener una nueva oportunidad de recuperar el ritmo de competición y mejorar las sensaciones tras su fuerte lesión. El piloto español es actualmente 25º en la clasificación general con 14 puntos.

Elia Bartolini, piloto de la VR46 Academy, será el piloto que reemplazará a Antonelli en el Gran Premio de Austria. El italiano vuelve a las filas del Avintia VR46 después de participar en los grandes premios de Cataluña, Alemania y Holanda, entonces sustituyendo a Carlos Tatay. Bartolini dejó muy buenas sensaciones, puntuando en dos de las tres carreras que disputó.

El viernes a las 9:00, los pilotos de la categoría de Moto3, disputarán el primer entrenamiento libre del Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich.

“Llego a este gran premio con muchísima motivación. Tengo ganas de darle la vuelta al fin de semana pasado, que empezó bien pero terminó mal no pudiendo salir a carrera. Estoy más motivado que nunca, de salir a pista, de ver cómo podemos gestionar mi lesión durante los entrenamientos y de ver cómo me puedo sentir mejor. Estoy preparado y creo que podemos hacer un buen fin de semana.”

The Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 and the Avintia VR46 end an unfortunate weekend at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg where both Antonelli and Tatay have not been able to compete in the Michelin Grand Prix of Styria race.

Carlos Tatay returned to the circuits after several weeks away from the competition after fracturing the talus of his right foot in Mugello. The Valencian, has had a complicated weekend due to the pain and, after the warm up session, the Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 rider has gone through the ‘Clinica Mobile’ after suffering from the fractured area. Doctors have advised Tatay to not be part of the race and rest and recover for next weekend.

Niccolò Antonelli, suffered a crash during qualifying that caused a fracture in the third and fourth metacarpal of his right hand. The Italian travelled to Italy yesterday to undergo surgery. The Avintia VR46 rider, will enter in a recovery phase to return to the tracks as soon as possible.

“It wasn’t the Sunday I expected. After two months away I wanted to enjoy a good race. After the warm up session, I could not even walk and we decided to not go out for the race. There wasn’t a new fracture, but the ankle was very painful after the whole weekend. At first it seemed to me a cowardly decision on my part, but then I think about it and I think it was the smartest thing to do. Now it’s time to recover these 4 or 5 days that we are going to be at home and get back to the maximum next week.”

El Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 y el Avintia VR46 finalizan un fin de semana desafortunado en el Red Bull Ring – Spielberg donde, tanto Antonelli como Tatay, no han podido disputar la carrera del Michelin Grand Prix of Styria.

Carlos Tatay volvía a los circuitos después de varias semanas apartado de la competición tras fracturarse el astrágalo de su pie derecho en Mugello. El valenciano, ha tenido un fin de semana complicado debido al dolor y, tras el ‘warm up’, el piloto del Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 ha pasado por la ‘Clinica Mobile’ al resentirse de la zona fracturada. Los médicos han aconsejado a Tatay de no formar parte de la carrera y así descansar y recuperarse para el próximo fin de semana.

Niccolò Antonelli, sufrió una caída durante la clasificación que le causó una fractura en el tercer y cuarto metacarpiano de su mano derecha. El italiano, viajó ayer a Italia para ser intervenido. El piloto del Avintia VR46, entrará en una fase de recuperación para volver a las pistas lo antes posible.

“No ha sido el domingo que esperaba. Después de dos meses fuera quería disfrutar de una buena carrera. Después del ‘warm up’ me he bajado de la moto, no podía ni caminar y hemos decidido no salir a carrera. No había ninguna nueva fractura, pero el tobillo estaba muy resentido después de todo el fin de semana. Al principio me ha parecido una decisión cobarde por mi parte, pero después, lo pienso en frío y creo que ha sido lo más inteligente. Ahora toca recuperarme estos 4 o 5 días que vamos a estar en casa y volver al máximo la semana que viene.”

The Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 and the Avintia VR46 have completed the qualifying session of the Michelin Grand Prix of Styria, where Niccolò Antonelli and Carlos Tatay achieved 11th and 20th position respectively.

Antonelli, who was able to access Q2 directly, set a best time of 1:36.728. In qualifying, the Avintia VR46 rider suffered a crash during his second attempt. The Italian has been taken to the medical centre and after further inspection, a fracture was found in the third and fourth metacarpals of his right hand. Antonelli will travel to Italy today and will undergo surgery.

Carlos Tatay has shown great progress over the weekend after several weeks away from the competition. The Valencian rider had to compete in Q1, and with a best time of 1:38.818, only 2 tenths have separated him from being able to fight for the ‘pole position’ in Q2.

Tomorrow at 11:00 the Michelin Grand Prix of Styria race will start, where Antonelli and Tatay will fight for the best possible result.

“First of all, I’m so sorry because it was being a good weekend for us. We have been very fast and unfortunately, I have suffered a crash that did not seem very aggressive. I have probably received in my hand a blow from the bike and it has caused the fracture. I’m sorry, this race I won’t be here and probably not the next one either, but I’ll come back as soon as possible and very strong.”

“It’s been a positive day. This morning I woke up in a lot of pain after all day yesterday. Still, after going through the medical center, I felt very comfortable and made a good FP3. In Q1, I was a couple of tenths away from being able to pass. I’m happy, I feel strong under braking, which is very important on this circuit. Tomorrow starting 20th is not as inconvenient as it can be on other circuits, so I will give my best and try to make a good race.”

El Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 y el Avintia VR46 han completado la sesión clasificatoria del Michelin Grand Prix of Styria, donde Niccolò Antonelli y Carlos Tatay han logrado la 11ª y 20ª posición respectivamente.

Antonelli, que ha podido acceder directamente a la Q2, ha marcado un mejor tiempo de 1:36.728. En la clasificación, el piloto del Avintia VR46 ha sufrido una caída durante su segundo intento. El italiano ha sido trasladado al centro médico y tras una inspección más exhaustiva, se ha encontrado una fractura en el tercer y cuarto metacarpiano de su mano derecha. Antonelli viajará hoy mismo a Italia y pasará por quirófano.

Carlos Tatay ha mostrado un gran progreso a lo largo del fin de semana después de varias semanas apartado de la competición. El piloto valenciano ha tenido que disputar la Q1, y con un registro de 1:38.818, tan sólo 2 décimas le han separado de poder luchar por la ‘pole position’ en la Q2.

Mañana a las 11:00 de la mañana arrancará la carrera del Michelin Grand Prix of Styria, donde Antonelli y Tatay lucharán por conseguir el mejor resultado posible.

“Primero que nada, lo siento mucho porque estaba siendo un buen fin de semana para nosotros. Hemos sido muy rápidos y desafortunadamente, he sufrido una caída que no parecía muy agresiva. Probablemente he recibido en mi mano un golpe de la moto y me ha causado la fractura. Lo siento,esta carrera no podré estar aquí y probablemente la siguiente tampoco, pero volveré lo antes posible y muy fuerte.”

“Ha sido un día positivo. Esta mañana me he levantado con bastante dolor después de todo el día de ayer. Aún así, después de pasar por el centro médico, me he sentido muy cómodo y he hecho un buen FP3. En la Q1, rodando yo solo, me he quedado a un par de décimas de poder pasar. Estoy contento, me siento fuerte en la frenada, que es muy importante en este circuito. Mañana salir 20º no es tan inconveniente como puede ser en otros circuitos, así que daré lo mejor de mí e intentaré hacer una buena carrera.”

The Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 and Avintia VR46 riders completed the first day of the Michelin Grand Prix of Styria at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg. Antonelli and Tatay finished 8th and 14th respectively in the combined classification.

In the morning session, Carlos Tatay completed his first laps after almost 9 weeks out of competition. The Valencian rider worked on recovering his feeling on his KTM and looking for a good bike set-up for the rest of the weekend. In the afternoon, Tatay made a step forward and finished 14th, putting him in Q2 positions ahead of the third free practice.

Niccolò Antonelli was 8th in the combined practice times after the first day at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg. The Italian rider was 7th in the first free practice and 8th in the second. In the morning session, the Italian rider suffered a crash without consequences. Despite this, Antonelli ended Friday with a good feeling.

Tomorrow, starting at 9:00, Tatay and Antonelli will be in the third practice session before the Michelin Grand Prix of Styria qualifying.

“It was a positive day and we did a good job. However, there is still room for improvement in some areas. Tomorrow we will get back to work to find a good set-up and I think we can get a good result for Sunday.”

“It has been a positive day and we are finally on the track. I was really looking forward to it after the summer break and the injury. The first free practice I took it easy, seeing how I could put my foot so it wouldn’t bother me. In the second one we took a step forward, I felt more comfortable and I started to enjoy. After two months I felt like a rider again and I’m very happy to be here. Now it’s time to rest and tomorrow we’ll see how my foot reacted after today.”

Los pilotos del Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 y del Avintia VR46 han completado en el Red Bull Ring – Spielberg el primer día del Michelin Grand Prix of Styria. Antonelli y Tatay han terminado en 8ª y 14ª posición respectivamente en la clasificación combinada.

En la jornada matinal, Carlos Tatay ha completado sus primeras vueltas tras prácticamente 9 semanas fuera de la competición. El valenciano ha trabajado en recuperar las sensaciones encima de su KTM y en buscar una buena configuración de la moto para el resto del fin de semana. Por la tarde, Tatay ha logrado dar un paso adelante y ha terminado 14º, situándose en posiciones de Q2 a la espera de disputar el tercer entrenamiento libre.

Niccolò Antonelli ha sido el 8º en la clasificación combinada tras el primer día en el Red Bull Ring – Spielberg. El piloto italiano ha logrado la 7ª posición en el primer entrenamiento libre y la 8ª en el segundo. En la sesión matinal, el italiano ha sufrido una caída sin consecuencias. Pese a ello, Antonelli ha concluido el viernes con buenas sensaciones.

Mañana a partir de las 9:00, Tatay y Antonelli disputarán el tercer entrenamiento previo a la clasificación del Michelin Grand Prix of Styria.

“Ha sido un día positivo y hemos hecho un buen trabajo. Sin embargo, todavía podemos mejorar en algunos aspectos. Mañana volveremos al trabajo para acabar de encontrar una buena configuración y creo que podemos conseguir un buen resultado para el domingo.”

Four weeks after the start of the summer break, the Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 team will be back in action this weekend at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg, where the Michelin Grand Prix of Styria, the 10th round of the calendar, will take place.

Carlos Tatay will be back on his KTM after missing the last three races due to a fractured talus in his right foot suffered during the Italian Grand Prix. The Valencian rider returns with his batteries recharged and eager to get back into the rhythm of competition.

Cuatro semanas después de que diera comienzo el parón veraniego, el Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 volverá a la acción este fin de semana en el Red Bull Ring – Spielberg, donde se llevará a cabo el Michelin Grand Prix of Styria, la 10ª cita del calendario.

Carlos Tatay se subirá de nuevo a su KTM tras perderse las últimas tres carreras debido a una fractura en el astrágalo de su pie derecho que sufrió durante el Gran Premio de Italia. El piloto valenciano vuelve con las pilas cargadas y con ganas de coger de nuevo el ritmo de competición.

“Estoy muy feliz de empezar de nuevo y no puedo esperar. Durante el parón he estado pilotando mucho con mi moto y estoy feliz. He entrenado mucho en estas últimas dos o tres semanas, así que estoy preparado para comenzar la segunda parte de la temporada y me siento más fuerte que nunca.”
