Reale Avintia Racing riders Loris Baz and Hector Barbera finished the first day in Argentina with mixed feelings. In the morning session Barbera ended with the eighth fastest time and was confident of improving in the afternoon, whilst Baz suffered an electronic issue on one of his bikes and finished way back in the timesheets.

Things went the opposite way in the afternoon session, with Reale Avintia Racing French rider Baz moving up through the ranks. After a significant improvement with the rear hard Michelin tyre, he went into soft tyre time attack mode and got the sixth fastest lap time of the day. For Barbera, the last session was quite difficult and he finished 15^th overall in the combined standings. The opening day at Termas de Río Hondo has really tight with top 15 riders in less than a second.

“I had a problem with one of my bikes this morning, but it was not a big issue. Also, the first session here is only useful to clean the track, so it was not a drama. In the afternoon we tried some different settings and all of them were better, so I was able to set a good pace on hard tyres, and finally I went out with the rear soft and with Maverick’s reference I did a really good lap. I think it was possible to go even faster if I had used the hard front, but I’m still very happy. I have improved every time I got on track, and this is most important. I enjoy riding the bike and although I have an upset stomach, the day was really positive.”

“I’m not happy. In the morning I went more or less okay, but this afternoon we didn’t program the session in the right way and we tried a wrong set-up that was useless. I don’t have too much to say, the only positive thing today was that even like this, I was able to set a decent lap time on my own and we are not so far from the fastest rider. We have a clear idea for tomorrow and my target will be to get into the top 10 in FP3 and go straight to Q2. I’ll try, and if I can’t, I’m sure that we will be really close, because my feeling is good and the Ducatis are working really well at this track.”

Reale Avintia Racing riders Hector Barbera and Loris Baz will cross the Atlantic Ocean this week for the Grand Prix of Argentina, the second race of the season.

Following a positive start of the year, Hector Barbera heads to Termas de Rio Hondo in a good mood. The 13^th place of Qatar was the best he was able to fight for in his physical condition and after losing the last part of the winter test. But in Argentina, where he fought for fourth place one year ago, Barbera expects to be battling for a Top Ten result with his Ducati Desmosedici GP16.

His Reale Avintia Racing teammate Loris Baz also looks forward to the arrival in Termas. Over the GP weekend in Argentina, he wants to progress the same way he did during the winter tests and the first race of the season. The 24-year-old French rider was twelfth in the opening round of the season and he is eager to make another step in Argentina and to fight for a Top Ten result as well.

“We head to Argentina physically stronger than in Qatar. My collarbone has almost recovered completely and I was able to train harder during the last week. We go to this race with high expectations, which is very different from those ahead of the first round of the season. I like the circuit. Last year I finished fifth and I think it will be possible to get a great result again. We feel strong and I am confident about our chances to do a good race on Sunday.”

“In the first race everything went really well, and that’s why I’m looking forward to race in Argentina. In Qatar I probably did my best dry race in MotoGP, but even though, my feeling was not the best. I’m convinced that it is possible to do even better. I love the layout of the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit and I want to do a good race. We will see how the weekend goes, we will keep working step by step to get the best set up and I’ll try to enjoy riding my bike.”

Els pilots de l’equip Reale Avintia Racing, Héctor Barberá i Loris Baz creuaran l’Oceà Atlàntic aquesta setmana per disputar la segona cursa de la temporada, el Gran Premi d’Argentina.

Després d’un inici d’any positiu Héctor Barberá arriba a Termes de Riu Profund molt més fort. El tretzè lloc aconseguit a Qatar va ser el màxim al que va poder aspirar en la seva condició física i després haver perdut un terç de la pretemporada. Però a l’Argentina, on l’any passat va lluitar pel quart lloc, Barberà espera donar molta guerra amb la seva Ducati Desmosedici GP16.

El seu company al Reale Avintia Racing, Loris Baz, també està desitjant arribar Termes per seguir amb la bona progressió que ha portat durant els entrenaments hivernals i la primera cursa. El pilot francès de 24 anys va acabar dotzè a la primera prova de la temporada i a l’Argentina espera fer un pas més per lluitar pel ‘top 10’.

“Vam arribar a l’Argentina molt més forts físicament que a Qatar, i la clavícula pràcticament està totalment recuperada i he pogut entrenant més dur en els últims dies. Anem amb unes expectatives molt diferents a les de la primera cursa, el circuit m’agrada molt, el any passat vaig acabar cinquè i crec que podem fer-ho molt bé. No ens val un resultat com el de Qatar, anem al màxim i crec que diumenge podem fer una gran carrera.”

“En la primera cursa tot va anar força bé i per això tinc moltes ganes d’arribar a l’Argentina. A Qatar crec que vaig fer la meva millor carrera en sec des que estic en MotoGP, però les meves sensacions no van ser les millors, així que estic segur que podem fer-ho molt millor. A més m’encanta el circuit de Termes de Riu Profund i per això crec que podem fer-ho molt bé. Veurem com va el cap de setmana, seguirem treballant poc a poc per trobar la millor posada a punt i intentaré divertir-me a sobre de la moto.”

Los pilotos del equipo Reale Avintia Racing, Loris Baz y Héctor Barberá han terminado el primer día en Argentina con diferentes sensaciones. Por la mañana Barberá ha terminado octavo y confiado en poder mejorar en la sesión de la tarde, mientras tanto Baz, ha tenido un problema electrónico en una de sus motos ha terminado más retrasado.

Pero por la tarde ha sucedido lo contrario. El piloto francés del equipo Reale Avintia Racing ha dado un gran paso adelante, y tras mejorar sus tiempos con el neumático trasero duro de Michelin, ha salido al ataque con el blando y se ha hecho con el sexto mejor tiempo del día. Para Barberá la última sesión del día ha sido más complicada y al final ha terminado 15º en la combinada de tiempos. La primera jornada en el circuito de Termas de Río Hondo ha sido muy disputada con quince pilotos en menos de un segundo.

“Esta mañana hemos tenido un problema en una moto, pero no ha sido nada. Además aquí la primera tanda solo sirve para limpiar la pista y no era muy importante. Por la tarde hemos probado varias cosas que han funcionado muy bien, he hecho muy buen tiempo con el neumático trasero duro, y al final he montado el blando y detrás de Maverick he hecho un tiempo muy bueno. Creo que podría haber sido mejor con el duro delante, pero estoy muy contento. Cada vez que salgo a pista mejoramos y eso es lo más importante. Disfruto mucho encima de la moto y aunque tengo gastroenteritis, el día ha sido muy positivo.”

“No estoy contento. Por la mañana ha ido más o menos bien, pero por la tarde nos hemos planificado mal y hemos hecho pruebas que no han funcionado. Tengo poco que decir, lo único positivo es que yendo mal he hecho el tiempo solo y tampoco estamos tan lejos. Tenemos clara la dirección para mañana y el objetivo mañana en el FP3 será pasar el corte para entrar en la Q2. Vamos a intentarlo, y si no lo logramos, estoy seguro que podemos estar muy cerca porque tengo buenas sensaciones y aquí las Ducati funcionan muy bien.”

Los pilotos del equipo Reale Avintia Racing, Héctor Barberá y Loris Baz cruzarán el Océano Atlántico esta semana para disputar la segunda carrera de la temporada, el Gran Premio de Argentina.

Después de un inicio de año positivo Héctor Barberá llega a Termas de Río Hondo mucho más fuerte. El decimotercer puesto conseguido en Qatar fue lo máximo a lo que pudo aspirar en su condición física y tras haberse perdido un tercio de la pretemporada. Pero en Argentina, donde el año pasado luchó por el cuarto puesto, Barberá espera dar mucha guerra con su Ducati Desmosedici GP16.

Su compañero en el Reale Avintia Racing, Loris Baz, también está deseando llegar Termas para seguir con la buena progresión que ha llevado durante los entrenamientos invernales y la primera carrera. El piloto francés de 24 años terminó duodécimo en la cita inaugural de la temporada y en Argentina espera dar un paso más para luchar por el ‘top 10’.

“Llegamos a Argentina mucho más fuertes físicamente que en Qatar, ya la clavícula prácticamente está totalmente recuperada y he podido entrenando más duro en los últimos días. Vamos con unas expectativas muy distintas a las de la primera carrera, el circuito me gusta mucho, el año pasado acabé quinto y creo que podemos hacerlo muy bien. No nos vale un resultado como el de Qatar, vamos a tope y creo que el domingo podemos hacer una gran carrera.”

“En la primera carrera todo fue bastante bien y por eso tengo muchas ganas de llegar a Argentina. En Qatar creo que hice mi mejor carrera en seco desde que estoy en MotoGP, pero mis sensaciones no fueron las mejores, así que estoy seguro de que podemos hacerlo mucho mejor. Además me encanta el circuito de Termas de Río Hondo y por eso creo que podemos hacerlo muy bien. Veremos cómo va el fin de semana, seguiremos trabajando poco a poco para encontrar la mejor puesta a punto y trataré de divertirme encima de la moto.”

Acabats d’arribar del primer Gran Premi de la temporada 2017 del Campionat del Món de MotoGP disputat a Qatar, els pilots de l’equip Reale Avintia Racing van estar de visita a la seu de Reale Seguros a Madrid. Héctor Barberá i Loris Baz es van fer fotos i van signar centenars d’autògrafs als empleats. A més van tenir l’ocasió de conversar amb Ignacio Mariscal, el conseller delegat de la companyia asseguradora, al qual van comptar de primera mans les seves sensacions en la primera prova del campionat.

Hector Barbera and Loris Baz signed hundreds of autographs and took pictures with all the excited Reale Seguros employees. They also had the chance to chat with the company’s CEO, Ignacio Mariscal, and tell their tales from the opening round of the championship.

The goal for the 2017 season is to achieve the team’s first ever podium finish, which Barbera and Baz were close to score on two occasions last season. Els pilots de l’equip Reale Avintia Racing, Loris Baz i Héctor Barberá han acabat el primer Gran Premi de la temporada en els punts. Loris Baz ha realitzat una bona sortida des de la 14a posició i estava onzè a tres voltes del final. Però problemes en el seu avantbraç dret li han impedit defensar la seva posició quan ha arribat Jorge Lorenzo. A més ha estat una cursa complicada per Baz, qui just abans de la sortida ha rebut la notícia de la mort d’Adrien Protat, a la família coneixia bastant, i que és el segon en menys d’un mes després de la pèrdua d’Anthony Delhalle.

Per al seu company Héctor Barberá tampoc ha estat una cursa senzilla, perquè a més d’arribar amb la clavícula esquerra operada fa poc més de 20 dies, la manca d’entrenaments i els pocs quilòmetres acumulats a Losail, l’han obligat a sortir a la cursa amb una posada a punt que no havia provat. Però l’espanyol del Reale Avintia Racing ha remuntat des de la 20a posició a la graella, per sumar dos punts en l’inici del campionat aquesta nit a Qatar.

“No ha estat fàcil, però crec que la carrera i el resultat han estat bons per a nosaltres. Hem començat la temporada puntuant i, sobretot, la distància amb el primer ha estat 20 segons i és el més a prop que mai hem acabat. He tingut un problema amb el braç dret que se m’ha engarrotat des del principi de carrera. Hem de mirar per què ha passat, pot ser pel fre que estava molt dur o perquè anava perdent la roda davantera gairebé a cada revolt, però al final no he pogut lluitar amb Lorenzo perquè em feia molt mal i no podia ni accelerar a fons en la recta. Però estic content perquè està bé començar així la temporada i poder dedicar el resultat a Anthony i Adrien .”

“Ha estat un cap de setmana complicat. Arribava amb la lesió de la clavícula molt recent i no tenia força al braç. Hem tractat de posar la moto a punt el millor possible, però tampoc ens ha donat temps a molt, les condicions han estat molt canviants i a més ahir vam perdre un dia per la pluja. al final hem sortit amb dos entrenaments i el warm-up a cursa, i així és tot molt precipitat. Començar el tretze no és el que volia i no estic content, però al menys hem salvat el cap de setmana, perquè sortíem a la 20a posició i hem sortit a carrera amb una posada a punt que no havíem provat. l’equip ha fet un grandíssim treball, han tingut paciència, han entès la meva situació i al final hem sumat punts. Vull donar les gràcies a tothom que ha fet possible que estigués a sobre de la moto després de 20 dies. Ara toca entrenar i pensar a Argentina, on espero fer-ho molt millor.”

Reale Avintia Racing riders Loris Baz and Hector Barbera finished the first Grand Prix of the season scoring championship points. Loris Baz did a great start from 14^th place of the grid and he was eleventh with just three laps to go. But arm-pump problems on his right forearm prevented him from defending his position when Jorge Lorenzo arrived. This race was not easy for Baz, who just before the start received the news of the death of fellow French rider Adrien Protat. And after the loss of Anthony Delhalle earlier this month it was not easy for Baz.

It was not easy race for Hector Barbera either, because he came to Qatar only 20 days after his collarbone injury, and the lack of testing and kilometres at Losail forced him to start the race with an unknown set up. But the Reale Avintia Racing Spanish rider did a great comeback starting from the 20^th to finish 13^th and with two points tonight in Qatar.

“It was not an easy race, but at the end the result was good for us. I started the season in the points and, the most important for me is that I crossed the finish line 20 seconds behind the leader, and this is the best we have done since I’m racing with this team. I had an arm-pump problem in my right forearm from the beginning of the race. We have to find out what happened because maybe it was the brake that was too hard, or maybe that I was losing the front almost in every corner, but in the final laps I was not able to fight with Lorenzo as I could not even open full gas on the straight. But overall I’m happy, after all the delays and cancellations this weekend, we started the season with a good result, that I want to dedicate to Anthony and Adrien.”

“It was a difficult weekend. I arrived here only twenty days after my collarbone injury and I had not enough strength in my left arm. I tried to set up the bike in the best way, but we had no time; the conditions have been changing during the weekend and yesterday we lost one track day because of the rain. Finally we had two practice sessions, warm-up and we started the race with a set up completely new for me because we didn’t test it before. The team did a great job during the weekend, they have been patient and they understood that I was not in my best form, but finally we were able to get some points. I want to thank all the people that made this possible. Now I have to work hard and think ahead to Argentina, where I hope to do better.”
