Avintia Esponsorama and Sky VR46 Avintia completed a good qualifying session at Silverstone despite not going through to Q2.

Enea Bastianini will start tomorrow’s race 13th. During Q1, when he was in first position, he suffered a crash that did not allow him to fight for the best time in the last moments of the session. In the end, he was overtaken by two rivals and only 54 thousandths of a second didn’t allow him to get into Q2.

Luca Marini finished 14th, just behind Bastianini. The Sky VR46 Avintia rider showed an evolution compared to the free practice sessions and completed a good qualifying session, very close to qualify for Q2.

Tomorrow at 14:00 (CET), the Monster Energy British Grand Prix premier class race will start, where Bastianini and Marini will have a good opportunity to continue scoring important points for the team.

“Today I tried, I was going to the maximum and we crashed. Anyway, we have a great pace. In FP4 I felt good on used tires and I’m very happy with the work we’ve done with the team, because we’ve improved every lap. The Ducati has strong points on this track, so tomorrow we will give our maximum from the start to get a good result.”

“I’m happy with qualifying, we all went very fast and 14th place is a good result on this track. In FP4 we had problems and I wasn’t satisfied, as I had no grip on the medium tire and I couldn’t keep the pace I wanted. The tire choice for tomorrow will be crucial, now we will analyse the data and try to understand what will be the right choice. The grid position is good.”

El Avintia Esponsorama y el Sky VR46 Avintia han completado una buena sesión de clasificación en Silverstone pese no lograr el paso a la Q2.

Enea Bastianini partirá la carrera de mañana 13º. Durante la Q1, cuando se situaba en primera posición, ha sufrido una caída que no le ha permitido luchar por el mejor tiempo en los últimos instantes de la sesión. Finalmente, ha sido superado por dos rivales y tan sólo 54 milésimas le han privado de acceder a la Q2.

Luca Marini ha finalizado 14º, justo por detrás de Bastianini. El piloto del Sky VR46 Avintia ha mostrado una evolución respecto a los entrenamientos libres y ha completado una buena sesión clasificatoria, muy cerca también de poder acceder a la Q2.

Mañana a las 14:00 (CET), arrancará la carrera de la categoría reina del Monster Energy British Grand Prix, donde Bastianini y Marini tendrán una buena oportunidad de seguir sumando puntos importantes para el equipo.

“Hoy lo he intentado, estaba yendo al máximo y nos hemos caído. De todas formas, tenemos un gran ritmo. En el FP4 me he sentido bien con los neumáticos usados y estoy muy contento con el trabajo que hemos hecho con el equipo, porque hemos mejorado en cada vuelta. La Ducati tiene puntos fuertes en este circuito, así que mañana daremos el máximo desde el comienzo para conseguir un buen resultado.”

“Estoy contento con la clasificación, todos hemos ido muy rápido y el 14º puesto es un buen resultado en esta pista. En el FP4 hemos tenido problemas y no estaba satisfecho, ya que con el neumático medio usado no tenía agarre y no he podido mantener el ritmo que quería. La elección del neumático para mañana será crucial, ahora analizaremos los datos y trataremos de entender cuál será la elección correcta. La posición de la parrilla es buena.”

The Avintia Esponsorama and Sky VR46 Avintia riders took part in the first two free practice sessions of the Monster Energy British Grand Prix at Silverstone on Friday.

Enea Bastianini and Luca Marini finished the day in 12th and 17th position respectively in the combined free practice times. Bastianini set a best time of 2:00.548, while Marini stopped the clock at 2:01.058.

Both riders completed a good day of adaptation to the track, as it was the first time they had ridden a MotoGP bike at Silverstone.

Tomorrow at 10:55 (GMT +2), the third free practice will start, where Bastianini and Marini will fight for a position that will allow them to go directly to Q2.

“It was a very cold day and not the best conditions. This morning we started off on the right foot and managed to put in some good laps. In the afternoon, on the hard rear tire, I didn’t feel quite right, so we focused on finding a good rhythm on the medium tire. We did some tests on the rear to try to get the bike to turn a bit better and with the soft tire I felt better than usually. I think we can take advantage of the strengths of the Ducati, we are ready for tomorrow and we will fight for the top-10.”

“It was a very cold Friday with very difficult track conditions. Due to the cold, I had very little grip during FP1 and I had some problems. In FP2 I started better and with the medium tire I felt good. It was a pity about the two time attacks, because we found a lot of traffic and I couldn’t use my full potential. The feeling is good and the Top-10 is not far away. We still have to improve in some aspects to fight for the direct access to Q2 in FP3 tomorrow.”

El Avintia Esponsorama y el Sky VR46 Avintia han disputado este viernes los dos primeros entrenamientos libres del Monster Energy British Grand Prix en Silverstone.

Enea Bastianini y Luca Marini han finalizado el día en 12ª y 17ª posición respectivamente en la clasificación combinada. Bastianini ha logrado un mejor tiempo de 2:00.548, mientras que Marini ha parado el cronómetro en 2:01.058.

Ambos pilotos han completado una buena jornada de adaptación al trazado, ya que era la primera vez que rodaban en Silverstone a bordo de una MotoGP.

Mañana a las 10:55 (zona horaria GMT +2), comenzará el tercer entrenamiento libre, donde Bastianini y Marini lucharán para obtener una posición que les permita acceder directamente a la Q2.

“Ha sido un día muy frío y no han sido las mejores condiciones. Esta mañana hemos empezado con el pie derecho y hemos conseguido dar varias vueltas buenas. Por la tarde, con el neumático duro trasero, no me he sentido del todo bien, así que nos hemos centrado en encontrar un buen ritmo con el neumático medio. Hemos hecho algunas pruebas en la parte de atrás para intentar hacer que la moto gire un poco mejor y con el neumático blando me he sentido mejor de lo normal. Creo que podemos aprovechar los puntos fuertes de la Ducati, estamos listos para mañana y lucharemos por el Top-10.”

“Ha sido un viernes muy frío y con condiciones de pista muy difíciles. Debido al frío, he tenido muy poco agarre durante el FP1 y he tenido varios problemas. En el FP2 he empezado mejor y con el neumático medio me he sentido bien. Ha sido una pena los dos ‘time attacks’, porque hemos encontrado mucho tráfico y no he podido utilizar todo el potencial. Las sensaciones son buenas y el Top-10 no está lejos. Todavía tenemos que mejorar en algunos aspectos para mañana pelear por el acceso directo a la Q2 en el FP3.”

Two years later, the MotoGP World Championship returns to the legendary Silverstone circuit for the 12th round of the calendar, the Monster Energy British Grand Prix.

Avintia Esponsorama and Sky VR46 Avintia arrive to the United Kingdom after a good weekend in Austria. Enea Bastianini, could not get a deserved reward after completing a very solid Grand Prix. Meanwhile, Luca Marini crossed the finish line in 5th, his best ever result in the premier class.

This weekend at Silverstone, both riders will have the opportunity to continue getting important points for the team.

“Unfortunately in Austria we had a technical problem that didn’t allow us to fight for the top-10. Silverstone is a track I really like and unfortunately it’s been two years since I’ve raced here, so it will be like a new circuit. It’s possibly not the best track for Ducati, but it’s good for me, so I’m feeling strong for the weekend.”

“Silverstone is a tricky and a complete track. I don’t know how our Ducati will adapt there, so we have no data to start with. It’s going to be more difficult than Austria, but we’ve had two good weekends in a row, so that will be an extra motivation to do a good job. The weather will be uncertain, but we have shown that we are fast even in all kinds of conditions.”

El Avintia Esponsorama y el Sky VR46 Avintia, llegan al Reino Unido tras un buen fin de semana en Austria. Enea Bastianini, no pudo obtener una merecida recompensa tras un completar un gran premio muy sólido. Mientras tanto, Luca Marini cruzó la línea de meta 5º, logrando así su mejor resultado en la categoría reina.

“Desafortunadamente en Austria tuvimos un problema técnico que no nos permitió luchar por el Top-10. Silverstone es una pista que me gusta mucho y lamentablemente hace dos años que no corro aquí, así que será como en un nuevo circuito. Posiblemente no sea el mejor trazado para Ducati, pero es bueno para mí, así que me siento fuerte para el fin de semana.”

“Silverstone es una pista complicada y completa. No sé cómo se adaptará nuestra Ducati allí, así que no tenemos datos para empezar. Va a ser más difícil que Austria, pero hemos tenido dos buenos fines de semana seguidos, y eso será una motivación extra para hacerlo bien. La meteorología será incierta, pero hemos demostrado que somos rápidos incluso en todo tipo de condiciones.”
