El Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 y el Avintia VR46 han completado la sesión clasificatoria del Michelin Grand Prix of Styria, donde Niccolò Antonelli y Carlos Tatay han logrado la 11ª y 20ª posición respectivamente.

Antonelli, que ha podido acceder directamente a la Q2, ha marcado un mejor tiempo de 1:36.728. En la clasificación, el piloto del Avintia VR46 ha sufrido una caída durante su segundo intento. El italiano ha sido trasladado al centro médico y tras una inspección más exhaustiva, se ha encontrado una fractura en el tercer y cuarto metacarpiano de su mano derecha. Antonelli viajará hoy mismo a Italia y pasará por quirófano.

Carlos Tatay ha mostrado un gran progreso a lo largo del fin de semana después de varias semanas apartado de la competición. El piloto valenciano ha tenido que disputar la Q1, y con un registro de 1:38.818, tan sólo 2 décimas le han separado de poder luchar por la ‘pole position’ en la Q2.

Mañana a las 11:00 de la mañana arrancará la carrera del Michelin Grand Prix of Styria, donde Antonelli y Tatay lucharán por conseguir el mejor resultado posible.

“Primero que nada, lo siento mucho porque estaba siendo un buen fin de semana para nosotros. Hemos sido muy rápidos y desafortunadamente, he sufrido una caída que no parecía muy agresiva. Probablemente he recibido en mi mano un golpe de la moto y me ha causado la fractura. Lo siento,esta carrera no podré estar aquí y probablemente la siguiente tampoco, pero volveré lo antes posible y muy fuerte.”

“Ha sido un día positivo. Esta mañana me he levantado con bastante dolor después de todo el día de ayer. Aún así, después de pasar por el centro médico, me he sentido muy cómodo y he hecho un buen FP3. En la Q1, rodando yo solo, me he quedado a un par de décimas de poder pasar. Estoy contento, me siento fuerte en la frenada, que es muy importante en este circuito. Mañana salir 20º no es tan inconveniente como puede ser en otros circuitos, así que daré lo mejor de mí e intentaré hacer una buena carrera.”

The Avintia Esponsorama and the Sky VR46 Avintia have completed the qualifying session of the Michelin Grand Prix of Styria at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg.

Enea Bastianini will start the race from 20th position. Despite this, the Italian rider had achieved the best time of the session, which would have allowed him access to Q2. Unfortunately, Bastianini has exceeded the limits of the track and his lap time has been cancelled.

Luca Marini has not been able to go through the cut of Q1. Sky VR46 Avintia rider set a best time of 1:24.115 and will start from 18th in tomorrow’s race.

Tomorrow at 14:00 the Styrian Grand Prix race will begin, where Enea Bastianini and Luca Marini will look to continue adding important points for the team.

“I’m upset because I’m sure I haven’t exceeded the track limits, so I haven’t understood the cancellation of the lap and I haven’t been shown the pictures either. In FP4 we managed to take a step forward and tried to understand what was causing me to lose time. We are ready for tomorrow’s race, although I think we could have started in a better position, but there is no turning back.”

“It’s been a normal qualifying for our current potential. We are working well with Ducati and the team. We still lack something, but the most important thing is to always be able to get the most out of what we can. Tomorrow everything can change, the weather is very uncertain. For sure it will be a fun race, on this track you can do many overtakes.”

El Avintia Esponsorama y el Sky VR46 Avintia han completado en el Red Bull Ring – Spielberg la sesión clasificatoria del Michelin Grand Prix of Styria.

Enea Bastianini arrancará la carrera desde la 20ª posición. Pese a ello, el piloto italiano había logrado el mejor tiempo de la sesión, lo que le hubiera permitido acceder a la Q2. Desafortunadamente, Bastianini ha superado los límites de la pista y su registro ha sido cancelado.

Luca Marini no ha podido superar el corte de la Q1. El piloto del Sky VR46 Avintia ha marcado un mejor tiempo de 1:24.115 y saldrá desde la 18ª posición en la carrera de mañana.

Mañana a las 14:00 dará comienzo la carrera del Gran Premio de Styria, donde Enea Bastianini y Luca Marini buscarán seguir sumando puntos importantes para el equipo.

“Estoy molesto porque estoy seguro de que no he superado los límites de pista, así que no he entendido la cancelación de la vuelta y tampoco me han mostrado las imágenes. En el FP4 hemos logrado dar un paso adelante y hemos tratado de entender lo que me hacía perder tiempo. Estamos preparados para la carrera de mañana, aunque creo que podríamos haber salido desde más adelante, pero ya no hay vuelta atrás.”

“Ha sido una clasificación normal para nuestro potencial actual. Estamos trabajando bien con Ducati y el equipo. Todavía nos falta algo, pero lo más importante es poder sacar siempre el máximo de lo que podemos. Mañana todo puede cambiar, el tiempo es muy incierto. Seguro que será una carrera divertida, en esta pista se pueden hacer muchos adelantamientos.”

The Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 and Avintia VR46 riders completed the first day of the Michelin Grand Prix of Styria at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg. Antonelli and Tatay finished 8th and 14th respectively in the combined classification.

In the morning session, Carlos Tatay completed his first laps after almost 9 weeks out of competition. The Valencian rider worked on recovering his feeling on his KTM and looking for a good bike set-up for the rest of the weekend. In the afternoon, Tatay made a step forward and finished 14th, putting him in Q2 positions ahead of the third free practice.

Niccolò Antonelli was 8th in the combined practice times after the first day at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg. The Italian rider was 7th in the first free practice and 8th in the second. In the morning session, the Italian rider suffered a crash without consequences. Despite this, Antonelli ended Friday with a good feeling.

Tomorrow, starting at 9:00, Tatay and Antonelli will be in the third practice session before the Michelin Grand Prix of Styria qualifying.

“It has been a positive day and we are finally on the track. I was really looking forward to it after the summer break and the injury. The first free practice I took it easy, seeing how I could put my foot so it wouldn’t bother me. In the second one we took a step forward, I felt more comfortable and I started to enjoy. After two months I felt like a rider again and I’m very happy to be here. Now it’s time to rest and tomorrow we’ll see how my foot reacted after today.”

Los pilotos del Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 y del Avintia VR46 han completado en el Red Bull Ring – Spielberg el primer día del Michelin Grand Prix of Styria. Antonelli y Tatay han terminado en 8ª y 14ª posición respectivamente en la clasificación combinada.

En la jornada matinal, Carlos Tatay ha completado sus primeras vueltas tras prácticamente 9 semanas fuera de la competición. El valenciano ha trabajado en recuperar las sensaciones encima de su KTM y en buscar una buena configuración de la moto para el resto del fin de semana. Por la tarde, Tatay ha logrado dar un paso adelante y ha terminado 14º, situándose en posiciones de Q2 a la espera de disputar el tercer entrenamiento libre.

Niccolò Antonelli ha sido el 8º en la clasificación combinada tras el primer día en el Red Bull Ring – Spielberg. El piloto italiano ha logrado la 7ª posición en el primer entrenamiento libre y la 8ª en el segundo. En la sesión matinal, el italiano ha sufrido una caída sin consecuencias. Pese a ello, Antonelli ha concluido el viernes con buenas sensaciones.

Mañana a partir de las 9:00, Tatay y Antonelli disputarán el tercer entrenamiento previo a la clasificación del Michelin Grand Prix of Styria.

“Ha sido un día positivo y por fin estamos en la pista. Tenía muchas ganas después del parón del verano y de la lesión. El primer entrenamiento libre me lo he tomado con calma, viendo cómo podía poner el pie para que no me molestase. En el segundo hemos dado un paso adelante, me he sentido más cómodo y he empezado a disfrutar. Después de dos meses me he vuelto a sentir piloto y estoy muy feliz de poder estar aquí. Ahora toca descansar y mañana veremos cómo ha reaccionado el pie después del día de hoy.”

The Avintia Esponsorama and the Sky VR46 Avintia riders were in action today for the first two free practice sessions of the Styrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg.

Luca Marini and Enea Bastianini set their fastest laps in the morning, as rain made its presence in the afternoon and made it impossible for the riders to improve their times. Marini finished the first day 14th in the combined practice times with a best time of 1:25.207, whilst Enea Bastianini was 21st with a time of 1:25.585.

Tomorrow will take place the third and fourth free practice before the qualifying session of the premier class of the Michelin Grand Prix of Styria.

“It was a positive day and I was able to have fun on the bike. I love this track, but with the MotoGP it’s very physical. This morning went well, unfortunately we didn’t manage to put in a perfect lap, but I didn’t feel too bad. This afternoon in wet I felt quite comfortable, I tried to improve lap by lap and gain confidence and it went better than I expected. It was a good first day.”

Luca Marini


“I had a good time today. From FP1 I found the same feeling as a month ago and I immediately felt comfortable on the bike. We did two sessions in different conditions and we got a lot of information in both dry and wet conditions. The feeling is good, as always the gaps here in Austria will be minimal, which is another reason to take care of all the details. Our ideal time was really good today, a few tenths less than my best lap. Let’s keep it up.”

El Avintia Esponsorama y el Sky VR46 Avintia han disputado durante el día de hoy los dos primeros entrenamientos libres del Gran Premio de Styria en el Red Bull Ring – Spielberg.

Tanto Luca Marini como Enea Bastianini han marcado sus vueltas más rápidas en la jornada matinal, pues la lluvia ha hecho acto de presencia durante la tarde y ha imposibilitado a los pilotos mejorar sus registros. Marini ha concluido el primer día 14º en la clasificación combinada con un mejor tiempo de 1:25.207. Por su parte, Enea Bastianini ha sido 21º, parando el cronómetro 1:25.585.

Mañana se disputarán el tercer y el cuarto entrenamiento libre previos a la sesión clasificatoria de la categoría reina del Michelin Grand Prix of Styria.

“Ha sido una jornada positiva y me he podido divertir encima de la moto. Me encanta este circuito, pero con la MotoGP es muy físico. Esta mañana ha ido bien, desafortunadamente no hemos conseguido dar una vuelta perfecta, pero no me he sentido del todo mal. Esta tarde en mojado me he sentido bastante cómodo, he intentado mejorar vuelta a vuelta y ganar confianza y ha ido mejor de lo que esperaba. Ha sido un buen primer día.”

“Hoy lo he pasado bien. Desde el FP1 he encontrado las mismas sensaciones que hace un mes y enseguida me he sentido cómodo sobre la moto. Hemos hecho dos sesiones en diferentes condiciones y hemos reunido mucha información tanto en seco como en mojado. Las sensaciones son buenas, como siempre las distancias aquí en Austria serán mínimas, lo que es otra razón para cuidar todos los detalles. Nuestro tiempo ideal era muy bueno hoy, unas décimas menos que mi mejor vuelta. Sigamos así.”

Four weeks after the start of the summer break, the Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 team will be back in action this weekend at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg, where the Michelin Grand Prix of Styria, the 10th round of the calendar, will take place.

Carlos Tatay will be back on his KTM after missing the last three races due to a fractured talus in his right foot suffered during the Italian Grand Prix. The Valencian rider returns with his batteries recharged and eager to get back into the rhythm of competition.

Niccolò Antonelli, who has had a positive first half of the year, is currently in 7th place with 67 points. The Italian rider is ambitious for the second half of the season and has the clear objective of closing the gap to Pedro Acosta, provisional leader of the championship.

The Styrian Grand Prix will start on Friday at 9:00 am, when the Moto3 riders will take part in the first free practice at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg.

Cuatro semanas después de que diera comienzo el parón veraniego, el Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 volverá a la acción este fin de semana en el Red Bull Ring – Spielberg, donde se llevará a cabo el Michelin Grand Prix of Styria, la 10ª cita del calendario.

Carlos Tatay se subirá de nuevo a su KTM tras perderse las últimas tres carreras debido a una fractura en el astrágalo de su pie derecho que sufrió durante el Gran Premio de Italia. El piloto valenciano vuelve con las pilas cargadas y con ganas de coger de nuevo el ritmo de competición.

Niccolò Antonelli, quien ha completado una primera mitad de año positiva, actualmente es el 7º clasificado con 67 puntos. El piloto italiano se muestra ambicioso de cara a la segunda mitad de la temporada y con el claro objetivo de recortar la distancia respecto a Pedro Acosta, líder provisional del campeonato.

El viernes a partir de las 9:00 dará comienzo el Gran Premio de Estiria, cuando los pilotos de Moto3 disputarán el primer entrenamiento libre en el Red Bull Ring – Spielberg.

The MotoGP World Championship lands this weekend at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg, where Enea Bastianini and Luca Marini will contest the 10th round of the calendar, the Michelin Grand Prix of Styria.

The Red Bull Ring is a circuit that Ducati has adapted to perfectly over the last few years and this season it will host two consecutive Grand Prix races. A total of 4.318 kilometres, made up of 10 corners and steep gradients make Spielberg a very distinctive track.

Bastianini and Marini are currently 16th and 20th in the overall standings respectively. Both riders, who have completed a great first half of the year of learning and adaptation, are motivated to face the weekend in Austria after the summer break.

The first free practice for the premier class of the Styrian Grand Prix will start on Friday at 9:55am.

“We are coming to Austria, a circuit I like a lot. I don’t know how it will be with MotoGP, but I’m full of energy. During the break I have tried to relax but also to stay fit, because MotoGP is a very complicated category and I would like to adapt immediately. The Ducati is a bike that is perfectly suited to this track and it has worked very well over the last few years, so we will do our best to get the best possible result.”

“I’m happy to be back racing, it’s been a long summer break. I can’t wait to get back to work and back on the bike. We arrive in Austria, a very special circuit, with few corners and which I like. Ducati has always done well here, and our goal is to get closer to the leaders and score points. We are going to run two races in a row at this circuit, and I’m sure that in the second week the gap will be even smaller, which is another reason to work well from the first GP.”
