El Avintia Esponsorama y el Sky VR46 Avintia han finalizado la carrera del Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas, donde ambos pilotos han conseguido cruzar la línea de meta en posiciones de puntos.

Enea Bastianini ha ejecutado una remontada para enmarcar. El piloto italiano, que no consiguió cerrar una vuelta en la clasificación, arrancaba 16º. Tras una buena salida, Bastianini ha podido recuperar posiciones gracias a un gran ritmo, para terminar en una magnífica 6ª posición, sumando de nuevo otro gran resultado para él y para el equipo.

Por su parte, Luca Marini ha conseguido en Austin volver a las posiciones de puntos. El piloto del Sky VR46 Avintia, que salía 9º, ha perdido algunas posiciones en la salida tras el embudo de la primera curva. A partir de ahí, el italiano ha conseguido aguantar una buena 14ª posición, que le permite sumar dos puntos más.

El Avintia Esponsorama y el Sky VR46 Avintia volverán dentro de tres semanas al Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli para disputar el Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna.

“Ha sido otro resultado inesperado. Ayer tuvimos un día complicado, pero sabíamos que nuestro potencial en esta pista era bastante alto. He hecho una buena carrera, y en las primeras vueltas he intentado recuperar varias posiciones. No sabía si llegaría bien al final de carrera, porque he ido al máximo y es una pista realmente dura. En la última vuelta he logrado adelantar a Mir y a Miller y ha sido muy divertido. Sabíamos que podríamos luchar por el top 10, pero no esperábamos llegar hasta la 6ª posición. Otro gran resultado e intentaremos seguir así.”

“En la carrera nos hemos encontrado un poco con los mismos problemas que en las últimas carreras y que no me permiten marcar la diferencia que me gustaría en términos de pilotaje. En general ha sido un fin de semana positivo, tenemos que estar contentos con todo el equipo por los progresos realizados desde Misano. Me ha costado mucho físicamente, ha sido una carrera larga, y me ha costado pilotar como quería para ser más rápido.”

The Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 and Avintia VR46 Academy finished the weekend in Austin after completing the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas race at the Circuit of the Americas.

It was a chaotic Sunday for the Moto3 riders, where a red flag with 10 laps to go led to a second sprint race.

During the first race, the first of the red flags appeared due to a crash for Filip Salac. After several minutes of waiting, the action resumed in a second race with 5 laps to go. Two laps later, a heavy multiple crash, where fortunately all the riders involved were OK, caused the second red flag of the day. Finally, the race direction determined that the final results were the positions of the first race.

Niccolò Antonelli, who had a difficult Sunday, was 15th. The VR46 Academy rider lost several positions in the opening laps. In his attempt to comeback, he crashed in the first corner when he was 15th, just before the red flag came out. Antonelli recovered the bike and the mechanics fixed the damage so that he could start the second race. For his part, Carlos Tatay was unable to reach the points after finishing 18th.

The Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 and Avintia VR46 Academy will return to the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in three weeks’ time for the Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna.

“I am not very happy. At the beginning some of the riders behind us didn’t think about the race and we lost a lot of positions. I tried to get back into the group but the red flag came out. In the second race we were doing a good job, but there was another red flag again. In the end the results of the first race were worth it and I finished 15th.”

“The weekend didn’t go the way we wanted it to. It was hard and we struggled a lot. In FP2 we lost a lot of time and, on a circuit that was new to me, it hurt me. Looking ahead to Misano, we know where we need to improve, so we will keep working and I’m sure good results will come.”

El Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 y el Avintia VR46 Academy han finalizado el fin de semana en Austin tras completar la carrera del Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas en el circuito de las Américas.

Ha sido un domingo caótico para los pilotos de Moto3, donde una bandera roja a falta de 10 vueltas para el final ha provocado que se dispute una segunda carrera al ‘sprint’.

Durante la primera carrera, ha aparecido la primera de las banderas debido a una caída de Filip Salac. Tras varios minutos de espera, la acción se ha retomado en una segunda carrera a 5 giros. Dos vueltas después, una fuerte caída múltiple, donde afortunadamente todos los pilotos implicados han salido ilesos, ha provocado la segunda bandera roja de la jornada. Finalmente, dirección de carrera ha determinado que los resultados finales eran las posiciones de la primera carrera.

Niccolò Antonelli, que ha tenido un domingo complicado, ha sido 15º. El piloto de la VR46 Academy ha perdido varias posiciones en las primeras vueltas. En su afán de remontar, se ha ido al suelo en la primera curva cuando rodaba 15º, instantes antes de que apareciera la bandera roja. Antonelli ha recuperado la moto y los mecánicos han arreglado los desperfectos para que pudiera partir en la segunda carrera. Por su parte, Carlos Tatay no ha podido llegar a las posiciones de puntos tras finalizar 18º.

“No estoy muy contento. Al principio algunos pilotos de detrás no han pensado en la carrera y hemos perdido bastantes posiciones. He tratado de volver al grupo pero ha aparecido la bandera roja. En la segunda carrera estábamos haciendo un buen trabajo, pero ha venido otra bandera roja de nuevo. Al final han valido los resultados de la primera carrera y he terminado 15º.”

“El fin de semana no ha salido como queríamos. Ha sido duro y nos ha costado bastante. En el FP2 perdimos mucho tiempo y, en un circuito que era nuevo para mi, me ha perjudicado. Mirada puesta en Misano, sabemos donde tenemos que mejorar, así que continuaremos trabajando y seguro que llegarán los buenos resultados.”

Avintia Esponsorama and Sky VR46 Avintia have disputed this Saturday the qualifying of the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas at the COTA circuit.

Enea Bastianini will start the race in Austin from 16th position after failing to go through the Q1 cut. The Italian rider will be looking for another good result tomorrow to continue scoring points.

Luca Marini was 9th, his best qualifying position since his debut in the premier class. For the second time this season, the Sky VR46 Avintia rider fought for pole position in Q2 after leading Q1.

Tomorrow at 21:00 (CET+2) the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas race will start, where Bastianini and Marini will be looking for a good result.

“It was a difficult day. This morning we had a good start and I felt comfortable to do some good laps. This afternoon in qualifying I didn’t feel good on the bike. We need to understand what happened so we can work on it. Tomorrow we start a little bit behind, so it won’t be easy, but we’ll try to do the best we can.”

“I am very happy with the qualifying and the lap time, because it means we are doing well and we can see the results of our efforts at the Misano test. I feel better on the bike and I can ride the way I want to ride. In FP3 and FP4 we had some problems and maybe for the first time this season we have some doubts about the tyre choice for tomorrow. Our options are soft or medium on the rear, we will look at the data from the other Ducati and decide after the warm up. The team is doing a great job and I had fun today.”

El Avintia Esponsorama y el Sky VR46 Avintia han disputado este sábado la clasificación del Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas en el circuito de COTA.

Enea Bastianini partirá la carrera en Austin desde la 16ª posición al no poder superar el corte de la Q1. El piloto italiano mañana para sumar otro buen resultado que le permita seguir sumando puntos.

Luca Marini ha sido 9º, consiguiendo su mejor posición en clasificación desde su debut en la categoría reina. Por segunda vez esta temporada, el piloto del Sky VR46 Avintia ha peleado por la ‘pole position’ en la Q2 tras liderar la Q1.

Mañana a las 21:00 (CET+2) dará comienzo la carrera del Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas, donde Bastianini y Marini buscarán conseguir un buen resultado.

“Ha sido un día difícil. Esta mañana hemos tenido un buen comienzo y me he sentido cómodo para hacer alguna buena vuelta. Esta tarde en la clasificación no me he acabado de sentir bien con la moto. Necesitamos entender lo que ha pasado para poder trabajar en ello. Mañana comenzamos un poco atrasados, por lo que no será fácil, pero intentaremos hacerlo lo mejor que podamos.”

“Estoy muy contento con la clasificación y con el tiempo por vuelta, porque significa que lo estamos haciendo bien y que podemos ver los frutos de nuestros esfuerzos en el test de Misano. Me siento mejor en la moto y puedo pilotar como quiero. En los FP3 y FP4 hemos tenido algunos problemas y quizás por primera vez esta temporada tenemos algunas dudas sobre la elección de los neumáticos para mañana. Nuestras opciones son el blando o el medio en la parte trasera, miraremos los datos de las otras Ducati y decidiremos después del warm up. El equipo está haciendo un gran trabajo y hoy me he divertido.”

The Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 and Avintia VR46 Academy completed the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas qualifying at the COTA circuit.

Niccolò Antonelli made it straight into Q2. After the qualifying session, the VR46 Academy rider will start from the 5th row of the grid, taking 13th position with a time of 2:16.701.

Carlos Tatay, who had to go through Q1, will start the race from 19th position. The Valencian rider suffered a crash during qualifying that caused some damage to the bike, which the team was able to fix with in record time. With only one attempt, Tatay was only 28 thousandths of a second away from go through the cut.

Tomorrow at 18:00 (CET+2), Antonelli and Tatay will contest the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas race, where they will try to cross the finish line in a good position.

“Overall, a difficult day. Qualifying didn’t go as we expected. After the crash I only had one attempt, I tried my best, but after the crash everything wasn’t in place. El Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 y el Avintia VR46 Academy han completado la clasificación del Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas en el circuito de COTA.

Niccolò Antonelli ha conseguido acceder directamente a la Q2. Tras la sesión clasificatoria, el piloto de la VR46 Academy partirá desde la 5ª línea de la parrilla de salida, consiguiendo la 13ª posición con un tiempo de 2:16.701.

Carlos Tatay, que ha tenido que pasar por la Q1, arrancará la carrera desde la 19ª posición. El valenciano ha sufrido una aparatosa caída durante la clasificación que ha causado algunos daños en la moto, los cuales el equipo ha podido arreglar a contrarreloj. Con un sólo intento, Tatay se ha quedado a tan solo 28 milésimas de superar el corte.

Mañana a las 18:00 (CET+2), Antonelli y Tatay disputarán la carrera del Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas, donde tratarán de cruzar la línea de meta en una buena posición.

The Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 and Avintia VR46 Academy completed the first two free practice sessions of the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas at the COTA circuit.

The morning practice was held on a wet track. Niccolò Antonelli was the fastest of the session with a time of 2:32.254. In his first time in Austin, Carlos Tatay finished 18th, setting a time of 2:36.285. The Valencian rider suffered a crash in the final stages of the session.

In the afternoon, in dry conditions, Antonelli set the second fastest time of the session, which puts him second in the combined free practice times after the first day. Tatay missed most of the session due to a mechanical problem with his bike. In the end, the Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 rider was 25th.

Tomorrow at 16:00 (CET+2) the third free practice will be held, before to the qualifying session of the Red Bull Grand Prix

“I am very happy to finish the first day in second position. There are still small details to improve, but overall I felt comfortable. I’m focused for tomorrow and I hope to get a good qualifying result.”

“It was a complicated day. In FP2 we had a problem with the bike that has caused us to lose a big part of the practice. It’s a circuit that I still have to get to know, so tomorrow we’ll have to focus on that, enjoy it and keep working.”

El Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 y el Avintia VR46 Academy han completado los dos primeros entrenamientos libres del Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas en el circuito de COTA.

El entreno matinal se ha disputado con la pista mojada. Niccolò Antonelli ha sido el más rápido de la sesión, con un tiempo de 2:32.254. En su primera vez en Austin, Carlos Tatay ha finalizado 18º, parando el cronómetro en 2:36.285. El valenciano ha sufrido una caída en los últimos compases del entreno.

Por la tarde, ya en condiciones de seco, Antonelli ha marcado el segundo mejor registro de la sesión, que le permite situarse segundo en la clasificación combinada tras el primer día. Por su parte, Tatay se ha perdido gran parte del entrenamiento debido a un problema mecánico en su moto. Finalmente, el piloto del Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 ha sido 25º.

Mañana a las 16:00 (CET+2) se disputará el tercer entrenamiento libre, previo a la sesión clasificatoria del Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas.

Avintia Esponsorama and Sky VR46 Avintia had their first taste of the COTA circuit on Friday after the first two free practice sessions of the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas.

Enea Bastianini and Luca Marini finished 10th and 12th in the combined combined free practice times at the end of the first day. In the morning session and in wet conditions, both riders were able to get their first laps on the MotoGP bike and start to get confidence with the track.

In the afternoon, in dry conditions, Bastianini was 10th fastest with a time of 2:04.836, whilst Luca Marini set the 12th fastest time of the second free practice session after stopping the clock at 2:04.933.

Tomorrow at 16:55 (GMT+2) Bastianini and Marini will be back on track for the third free practice and then the fourth free practice and the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas qualifying.

“It was an interesting first day. The asphalt is very bumpy and it wasn’t easy. The morning was wet and I tried to start to get some confidence. FP2 was completely dry, but I had some pain in my back caused by the crash I had in the Misano test, and I didn’t feel 100%. Anyway, we had a good lap. In the fast corners I feel good, but in the slow ones I still suffer a little bit. We have all day tomorrow to work and we will try to make a step forward.”

“A good and positive day. We were able to run in both conditions and I was fast in all sessions. It was a difficult situation to manage, especially with the many bumps in the track. Probably one of the most complicated things I’ve ever had to deal with riding a MotoGP bike, which is a shame because the track is very nice. I don’t think they can do anything between now and tomorrow, so all we have to do is work on the bike to make sure we can push as hard as we can and not make any mistakes. We will definitely talk with the other riders in the Safety Commission because this is close to be dangerous. Overall, the feeling on the bike is good, most of the work we did at the Misano test has worked on this track and hopefully the weather will be good for qualifying.”
