With the conclusion of the third day at the Sepang International Circuit, the first pre-season test of 2020 for the Reale Avintia Racing Team has come to an end. After three intense and productive days of testing, team and riders were able to gather various data that will help the development and evolution of the Ducati Desmosedici GP19.

During the three sessions, Johann Zarco completed his first kilometres on his new Ducati. The French rider has been able to work on several configurations and on the adaptation and development of his bike. On the last day of the test, Zarco set a time of 1:58.951, more than a second and a half faster than his best time on Friday, after a total of 42 laps to the Malaysian circuit.

Tito Rabat stopped the clock in 1:59.549 after completing 59 laps, one second and two tenths of a second faster than his best time on Friday. In the final moments of the day the rain arrived to Sepang and he was forced to put an early end to the test. Throughout the three days the Spanish rider, step by step, worked on the adaptation to the tyres and was able to try new settings that allowed him to finish with good feelings.

The Reale Avintia Racing Team is now heading to the final pre-season test at Losail, which will take place from the 22nd to the 24th of February, two weeks before the start of the 2020 season at the same circuit.

“It’s been a good test. The first day was a little bit difficult. I think I can be faster, I still have to learn new things, but at the end of the third day I am happy because I see that the method I am following works well and with time I will be able to learn more. The bike has a lot of acceleration and I need to take advantage of it. I can’t wait to arrive to Qatar because we have three more days to improve and prepare for the start of the season. It is difficult to learn new things, but I feel prepared and I am very motivated.”

“We have been improving progressively during these three days, it has been a good test. We have to improve on the braking, but anyway I’m happy with the team and now the most important thing is to analyse the data collected and rest in order to reach 100% for the test at Losail.”

Con la conclusión de la tercera jornada en el Circuito Internacional de Sepang se dan por finalizados los primeros test de pretemporada de 2020 para el Reale Avintia Racing Team. Tras tres intensos y productivos días de entrenamientos, tanto equipo como pilotos han podido recopilar diversos datos que ayudarán al desarrollo y evolución de la Ducati Desmosedici GP19.

Durante las tres sesiones, Johann Zarco ha completado sus primeros kilómetros encima de su nueva Ducati. El piloto francés ha podido trabajar con varias configuraciones y en la adaptación y desarrollo de su moto. En el último día de test, Zarco ha marcado un tiempo de 1:58.951, superando por más de un segundo y medio su mejor registro del viernes, tras rodar un total de 42 vueltas al trazado malayo.

Por su parte, Tito Rabat ha parado el cronómetro con un tiempo de 1:59.549 tras completar 59 vueltas, un segundo y dos décimas más rápido que su mejor marca del viernes. Durante los últimos instantes de la jornada, la lluvia ha hecho acto de presencia en Sepang y se ha visto obligado a poner punto y final antes de tiempo. A lo largo de los tres días el piloto español, paso a paso, ha trabajado en la adaptación a los neumáticos y ha podido probar nuevas configuraciones que le han permitido acabar con buenas sensaciones.

El Reale Avintia Racing Team pone rumbo a los últimos test de pretemporada en el circuito de Losail, que se celebrarán del 22 al 24 de febrero, dos semanas antes de que dé comienzo la temporada 2020 en el mismo trazado qatarí.

“Ha sido un buen test. El primer día fue un poco difícil. Pienso que puedo ser más rápido, aún tengo que aprender cosas nuevas, pero al final del tercer día estoy contento porque veo que el método que estoy siguiendo funciona bien y con el tiempo podré aprender más. La moto tiene mucha aceleración y necesito aprovecharlo. Estoy ansioso por llegar a Qatar, porque tenemos de nuevo tres días más para mejorar y preparar el comienzo de la temporada. Es difícil aprender nuevas cosas, pero me siento preparado y estoy muy motivado”

“Hemos ido mejorando progresivamente durante estos tres días, han sido unos buenos test. Tenemos que mejorar en la frenada, pero de todas maneras estoy contento con el equipo y ahora lo más importante es analizar los datos recogidos y descansar para llegar al 100% al test en Losail.”

The Reale Avintia Racing Team returned to work on a very productive second day of testing for the team at the Sepang International Circuit. Tito Rabat and Johann Zarco continued their respective development and evolution of their bikes at the Malaysian circuit.

Rabat completed a day of intense work testing various settings on his bike and understanding and adapting to the new Michelin tyres for this season. The Spanish rider completed a total of 51 laps and stopped the clock with a time of 2:00.189, which allowed him to improve his best Friday mark by more than half a second and place him in 20th place in the classification.

Johann Zarco continued the work of adapting to his Ducati Desmosedici GP19. The French rider has improved his feeling on the bike and has managed to ride six tenths faster than yesterday. The Frenchman completed 51 laps of the Sepang circuit, clocking a time of 1:59.825 and finishing the 19th session.

Tomorrow, Saturday, the team will face the third and final day of testing in Malaysia, where work will continue on the evolution and data collection of the Ducati.

“I’m happy because the problem I had last year with the corner entry due to lack of grip, with these new tyres has disappeared. Yesterday morning it went well, but in the afternoon after the rain I had a very bad feeling and ended up a bit worried and angry. But this morning, step by step we have worked with the used tyres and especially in the afternoon, I changed things in my riding style that made me feel better on the bike and allowed me to improve and get closer to my rivals. I’m not happy with the result, but I’m satisfied with the evolution. Tomorrow we will start from the first hour and give our best.”

“Second day has been better than yesterday. I was focused to do a lot of laps, to have a good performance and in every lap try to understand more about the bike. It’s been a good day, I could go under the 2:00’s and repeat this mark few times more, so it’s very positive. I’m learning and understanding new things about the bike to be faster, so I’m happy but a little bit tired too, because this is a hard circuit. My riding style it’s not fitting perfectly at the moment with the Ducati, that’s why I’m taking time because I can feel the potential, we have to change few things, which it’s not easy, but as soon as I can I will go faster.”

El Reale Avintia Racing Team ha vuelto al trabajo en una segunda jornada de test muy productiva para el equipo en el Circuito Internacional de Sepang. Tito Rabat y Johann Zarco han seguido con el respectivo desarrollo y evolución de sus motocicletas en el trazado malayo.

Rabat ha completado una jornada de intenso trabajo probando varias configuraciones en su moto y entendiendo y adaptándose a los nuevos neumáticos Michelin para esta temporada. El piloto español ha rodado un total de 51 vueltas y ha parado el cronómetro con un tiempo de 2:00.189, el cual le ha permitido superar su mejor marca del viernes por más de medio segundo y colocarle en la 20º plaza de la clasificación.

Johann Zarco ha continuado con el trabajo de adaptación a su Ducati Desmosedici GP19. El piloto francés ha mejorado sus sensaciones encima de la moto y ha logrado rodar seis décimas más rápido respecto al día de ayer. El galo ha completado 51 vueltas al circuito de Sepang, ha marcado un registro de 1:59.825 y ha concluido la sesión 19º.

Mañana, sábado, el equipo afrontará el tercer y último día de test en Malasia, donde se seguirá con el trabajo en la evolución y recogida de datos de la Ducati.

“Estoy contento porque el problema que tenía el año pasado respecto a la entrada a curva por falta de agarre, con estos neumáticos nuevos han desaparecido. Ayer por la mañana fue bien, pero por la tarde, después de la lluvia tuve muy malas sensaciones y acabé un poco preocupado y enfadado. Pero esta mañana, poco a poco hemos trabajado con los neumáticos usados y sobre todo por la tarde, he cambiado cosas en mi estilo de conducción que me han hecho sentirme mejor encima de la moto y me ha permitido mejorar y acercarme a mis rivales. No estoy contento por el resultado, pero sí satisfecho por la evolución. Mañana saldremos desde primera hora y daremos el máximo.”

“El segundo día ha sido mejor que el de ayer. He estado centrado en dar muchas vueltas, en dar un buen rendimiento y en cada vuelta tratar de entender más sobre la moto. Ha sido un buen día, pude bajar de los dos minutos y repetir esta marca unas cuantas veces más, así que es muy positivo. Estoy aprendiendo y comprendiendo nuevas cosas sobre la moto para ser más rápido, así que estoy contento, pero también un poco cansado, porque este es un circuito duro. Mi estilo de conducción no encaja perfectamente en este momento con la Ducati, por eso me estoy tomando tiempo porque puedo sentir el potencial, tenemos que cambiar algunas cosas, lo cual no es fácil, pero en cuanto pueda iré más rápido.”

It took more than a hundred days for the engines to roar again on a circuit after the end of last season in Valencia. The bikes are back in action at the Sepang International Circuit for the first pre-season test of 2020.

It was an expected start for the Reale Avintia Racing Team, where Johann Zarco was able to make his first contact with the Ducati Desmosedici GP19, his new bike for this coming season and his new team. For his part, Tito Rabat, who had the opportunity to ride the new bike in the past tests at Valencia and Jerez, continued with the learning and development period of his Ducati and managed to finish the first day of testing in Malaysia in 22nd position after setting a time of 2:00:750 accumulating a total of 54 laps.

It has been a very fruitful and effective first day, as the team has managed to accumulate and collect a lot of data that will be analysed for the evolution and development of the bike.

“This morning I was very happy, it was easy, we hadn’t changed any tyres and I really felt good. It’s still too early to draw conclusions, we’re on the first day. We went out for a couple of hours in the morning to test the bike. In the afternoon, after the rain, I was a little bit confused, it was a little bit harder and we didn’t ride too much. Tomorrow we will try to start well from the beginning and attack.”

“I was expecting better for me and to be little bit faster. I learnt a lot and I did a lot of laps. After some months, it has been very long time. I stayed calm and at the end of the day I did a very important step understanding my mistakes and how to ride better this Ducati bike. The are some points of huge potential. Step by step I will understand, I keep smiling because I’m living a good feeling. I don’t have any problem to have a bike from 2019 because it’s official and it’s a satellite team. My working plan for the reamining days is to understand more this bike and to be relaxed. If I do a good job I can be in the low 1:59.”

Más de cien ansiados días han tardado en volver a rugir los motores de nuevo en un circuito tras la finalización de la temporada pasada en Valencia. Las motos han vuelto al ruedo en el Circuito Internacional de Sepang con motivo de los primeros test de pretemporada de 2020.

Ha sido un inicio esperado para el Reale Avintia Racing Team, donde Johann Zarco ha podido tener una primera toma de contacto con la Ducati Desmosedici GP19, su nueva moto para esta próxima temporada, y su nuevo equipo. El piloto francés ha logrado un tiempo de 2:00:464, finalizando en 19ª posición tras completar un total de 54 vueltas en una primera jornada de adaptación y de puesta a punto.

Por su parte, Tito Rabat que ya tuvo la oportunidad de rodar con la nueva moto en los pasados test de Valencia y Jerez ha seguido con el periodo de aprendizaje y desarrollo de su Ducati y ha conseguido concluir la primera jornada de entrenamientos en Malasia en 22ª posición tras marcar un registro de 2:00:750 acumulando un total de 54 vueltas.

Ha sido un primer día muy fructífero y efectivo, pues el equipo ha conseguido acumular y recoger muchos datos que se analizarán para la evolución y el desarrollo de la moto.

“Esta mañana he estado muy contento, la cosa era fácil, no habíamos cambiado ninguna goma y realmente me sentía bien. Aún es muy pronto para sacar conclusiones, estamos en el primer día. Hemos salido un par de horas por la mañana para probar la moto. Por la tarde, después de la lluvia me he quedado un poco desconcertado, nos ha costado un poco más y hemos dado pocas vueltas. Mañana intentaremos empezar bien desde el principio y atacar.”

“Esperaba algo mejor de mí y que fuera un poco más rápido. Aprendí mucho e hice muchas vueltas. Después de algunos meses, ha pasado mucho tiempo. Me mantuve tranquilo y al final del día di un paso muy importante entendiendo mis errores y cómo pilotar mejor esta Ducati. Hay algunos puntos de gran potencial. Paso a paso loS entenderé y sigo sonriendo porque estoy viviendo una buena sensación. No tengo ningún problema por tener una moto de 2019 porque es oficial y es un equipo satélite. Mi plan de trabajo para los días restantes es entender más esta moto y estar relajado. Si hago un buen trabajo puedo estar en 1:59 bajos.”

El equipo Reale Avintia Racing se complace en anunciar que Johann Zarco será el piloto que acompañará a Tito Rabat en el próximo Campeonato del Mundo de MotoGP 2020. El equipo satélite Ducati contará con la presencia de dos ingenieros de pista y dos electrónicos Ducati Corse que seguirán la actividad de los dos pilotos de la Demosedici GP19 durante toda la próxima temporada. Zarco, dos veces Campeón del Mundo de Moto2, ha firmado un acuerdo de un año directamente con Ducati y hará su primera aparición en pista por primera vez la próxima temporada en los test invernales previstos en Sepang del 7 al 9 de febrero.

Johann Zarco ha comentado su nuevo compromiso de la siguiente manera:

After a great season finale with two excellent victories in the MotoE category, the Reale Avintia Racing Team will reward the Brazilian rider Eric Granado by giving him the opportunity to ride the Ducati GP18 during the test that will take place this week at the Jerez circuit .

It must be remembered that, despite a challenging start to the year, Granado concluded the first MotoE season in a meritorious third position overall, overcoming the adversities that had to face throughout the year.
