Avintia Esponsorama Racing and Sky VR46 Avintia will compete this weekend in the Grande Prémio Brembo do Algarve, the penultimate round of the calendar and, for the second time this season, will be held in Portimao.

Enea Bastianini is 13th in the world standings, with a total of 87 points and provisionally the best rookie of the year. The Italian took his second podium of the season in Misano and will be looking to continue his good form in Portugal to repeat another great result.

Luca Marini is 20th with 37 points. The Sky VR46 Avintia rider arrives at Portimao motivated after a very complete weekend in Italy, where he achieved his best qualifying result and a superb 9th position in the race.

Tomorrow from 10:55 (CET+1) Bastianini and Marini will complete the first free practice of the Grande Prémio Brembo do Algarve.

“Second Grand Prix at Portimao. Since then, I have won experience with the MotoGP bike, it’s a circuit I like and I can go fast here. In the last races we have done a great job and we want to continue in this line. Every day I feel more comfortable on the bike and in this category you need to be 100% for the whole weekend. Enea Bastianini es 13º en la clasificación general, sumando un total de 87 puntos y siendo el mejor ‘rookie’ del año provisionalmente. El italiano consiguió en Misano su segundo podio de la temporada y, en Portugal, quiere seguir aprovechando su gran estado de forma para repetir otro gran resultado.

Por su parte, Luca Marini es 20º con 37 puntos. El piloto del Sky VR46 Avintia llega motivado a Portimao después de un fin de semana muy completo en Italia, donde logró su mejor resultado en clasificación siendo 3º y una magnífica 9ª posición en carrera.

Mañana a partir de las 10:55 (CET+1), Bastianini y Marini completarán el primer entrenamiento libre del Grande Prémio Brembo do Algarve.

“Segundo Gran Premio en Portimao. Desde entonces, he ganado experiencia con la MotoGP, es un circuito que me gusta y puedo ir rápido aquí. Avintia Esponsorama Racing and Sky VR46 Avintia completed the Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna race at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

Enea Bastianini did it again. The Italian, who started 16th after yesterday’s qualifying, made a remarkable comeback, which allowed him to cross the finish line in an excellent 3rd position. With this result, Bastianini has taken his second podium in the premier class, after the one he achieved at Misano circuit in the last San Marino Grand Prix.

Luca Marini achieved another great result, 9th in his home Grand Prix. The Sky VR46 Avintia rider got a good pace throughout the race, which allowed him to finish inside the top 10 and score 7 more points after a very complete weekend for him.

After a very positive Grand Prix for the team, Enea Bastianini and Luca Marini will head to the Algarve International Circuit, where the Grande Prémio do Algarve, the penultimate round of the season, will take place in two weeks’ time.

“Until Saturday, it was a terrible weekend for me. I was not happy with Friday and Saturday, especially FP4 and qualifying, where I had too many crashes. This morning, I started to find the right feeling and I managed to go fast without going to the limit. From the first lap, I felt comfortable and I had enough pace to be able to move up and gain positions. It was an unexpected result, but it’s great to repeat this third position in Misano. I want to congratulate Quartararo for the title.”

“I can’t be completely satisfied with today’s result, even though we finished in the top 10 and made a big step forward compared to Misano 1. It was a weekend and a race where we won a lot of experience in the group and understood exactly where we need to improve with the whole team. We are on a good growth trend, we have to keep it up for the next two races and aim for another step forward. It was a great GP for the team, for Ducati, for VR46 and Vale. I followed the pace of the strongest group from free practice to today.”

El Avintia Esponsorama Racing y el Sky VR46 Avintia han completado la carrera del Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna en el Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

Enea Bastianini lo ha vuelto a hacer. El italiano, que salía 16º tras la clasificación de ayer, ha ejecutado una remontada para enmarcar, que le ha permitido cruzar la línea de meta en una excelente 3ª posición. Con este resultado, Bastianini suma su segundo podio en la categoría reina, tras el conseguido en el mismo circuito de Misano en el pasado Gran Premio de San Marino.

Por su parte, Luca Marini ha logrado otro gran resultado, al ser 9º en su gran premio de casa. El piloto del Sky VR46 Avintia ha mantenido un buen ritmo durante toda la carrera, que le ha permitido terminar dentro del top 10 y sumar 7 puntos más después de un fin de semana muy completo para él.

Tras de un gran premio muy positivo para el equipo, Enea Bastianini y Luca Marini pondrán rumbo al Algarve International Circuit, donde dentro de dos semanas se disputará el Grande Prémio do Algarve, penúltima cita de la temporada.

“Hasta el sábado, estaba siendo un fin de semana terrible para mí. No estoy contento con el viernes y el sábado, sobre todo el FP4 y la clasificación, donde he tenido demasiadas caídas. Esta mañana, he empezado a encontrar las buenas sensaciones y he conseguido ir rápido sin ir al límite. Desde la primera vuelta, me he sentido cómodo y he tenido el ritmo suficiente para poder remontar y ganar posiciones. Ha sido un resultado inesperado, pero es fantástico repetir esta tercera posición en Misano. Por último, quiero felicitar a Quartararo por el título.”

“No puedo estar completamente satisfecho con el resultado de hoy, aunque hayamos terminado entre los 10 primeros y hayamos dado un gran paso adelante en comparación con Misano 1. Ha sido un fin de semana y una carrera en la que hemos ganado mucha experiencia en el grupo y hemos entendido exactamente dónde tenemos que mejorar con todo el equipo. Estamos en una buena tendencia de crecimiento, debemos seguir así en las dos próximas carreras y aspirar a dar otro paso adelante. Ha sido un gran GP para el equipo, para Ducati , para VR46 y Vale. He seguido el ritmo del grupo más fuerte desde los entrenamientos libres hasta hoy.”

Avintia Esponsorama Racing and Sky VR46 Avintia finished the Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna qualifying, which was held in dry conditions but with very tricky track conditions.

Enea Bastianini had a difficult Saturday. After suffering a couple of crashes in FP4, the mechanics were able to get the bike ready for qualifying. In Q1, when he was trying to get a good lap time to get into Q2, he crashed again. Finally, Bastianini will start from the 6th row of the grid.

Luca Marini took an excellent 3rd position in his home Grand Prix, his best qualifying result of the season. “It was a strange day for me. In the morning it was very difficult to set a fast lap and in FP4 and qualifying my feeling on the bike was not good at all. It was impossible to push and I had three crashes, two of them really strange because it was because the cold tyre and I lost the rear. In qualifying I tried to get the best time I could, but in the sixth corner I lost the front and crashed. In general, the asphalt was very difficult. Tomorrow the weather is likely to be better, so we will wait to decide on the tyres.”

“I am very happy with today’s result in front of the Italian fans. It will be exciting to be on the front row in MotoGP for the first time and also difficult, but I am happy. It has not been an easy season so far, but with the team and all the staff we have done a great job. I have a lot of people to thank and to share this moment with. I’ve had a good feeling and every time I’ve had a good feeling with the bike I’ve always been fast. Since the Misano test I have improved my riding position, I have made a step forward in the set-up and I have been able to focus on my style. El Avintia Esponsorama Racing y el Sky VR46 Avintia han finalizado la clasificación del Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna, que se ha disputado en seco, pero con unas condiciones de pista muy delicadas.

Enea Bastianini ha tenido un sábado complicado. Tras sufrir un par de caídas en el FP4, los mecánicos han podido tener preparada la moto para la clasificación. En la Q1, cuando trataba de conseguir un buen registro para acceder a la Q2, se ha vuelto a ir al suelo. Finalmente, Bastianini arrancará desde la 6ª línea de la parrilla de salida.

Luca Marini ha logrado una excelente 3ª posición en su gran premio de casa, siendo este su mejor resultado en clasificación de la temporada. El piloto del Sky VR46 Avintia ha logrado el acceso directo a la Q2 tras finalizar en el top 10 en la clasificación combinada tras los entrenamientos libres. En la clasificación, el italiano ha podido exprimir al máximo su Ducati, lo que le permitirá arrancar la carrera en Misano desde la primera línea de parrilla.

Mañana a las 14:00 dará comienzo la carrera del Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna, donde Bastianini y Marini tratarán de cruzar la línea de meta en una buena posición.

“Ha sido un día extraño para mí. Por la mañana me ha resultado muy complicado marcar una vuelta rápida y en el FP4 y la clasificación mis sensaciones encima de la moto no eran para nada buenas. Me ha resultado imposible poder empujar y he tenido tres caídas, dos de ellas realmente extrañas, ya que han sido con el neumático frío y perdiendo la parte trasera. En la clasificación he intentado sacar el mejor tiempo posible pero, en la sexta curva, he perdido la parte delantera y me he ido al suelo. En general, el asfalto estaba muy complicado. Mañana es posible que el tiempo sea mejor, así que esperaremos para decidir qué neumáticos montaremos.”

“Estoy muy contento con el resultado de hoy ante la afición italiana. Será emocionante estar en la primera fila en MotoGP por primera vez y también difícil, pero estoy contento. No ha sido una temporada fácil hasta ahora, pero con el equipo y toda la plantilla hemos hecho un gran trabajo. Tengo muchas personas a las que agradecer y con las que compartir este momento. He tenido buenas sensaciones y cada vez que he tenido un buen feeling con la moto he ido siempre rápido. Desde el test de Misano he mejorado mi posición de pilotaje, he dado un paso en la puesta a punto y he podido centrarme en mi estilo. Ducati me ha apoyado y mañana haré todo lo posible para estar a la altura de los pilotos más fuertes. ¡Gracias a todo el equipo y gracias a Ducati!”

Avintia Esponsorama and Sky VR46 Avintia completed the first day of the Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna, where rain was the main protagonist at the Misano circuit.

Enea Bastianini was 12th in the combined practice times with a time of 1:42.842, achieved in the afternoon session. In the second free practice, the track conditions improved compared to the first one, which allowed a notable improvement in the times.

Luca Marini finished the first day 6th with a best time of 1:42.601. The Sky VR46 Avintia rider has done a great job since the morning, and allows him to place himself in positions of direct access to Q2, waiting to dispute the third free practice.

“It was a positive day and I’m happy with my performance. It was a pity because for 40 thousandths I’m out of Q2, I still have to improve in wet conditions. In FP2 we made a small step forward and finally I finished 12th. When the track dried up I felt more comfortable on the bike, even so, everything was very tricky. Overall I’m happy with my first day in Misano and tomorrow we will try to improve to be in Q2.”

“I am very happy with today, I had a very good feeling in the wet and also in the final part of the second session with the drier track. The last lap was good and I only had one attempt after the tyre change. The initial plan was to go out on the soft tyre, but the track was already dry and I went back in at the last moment to put on the medium one. I didn’t make any mistakes and I got a good lap time that will be useful for me tomorrow if it continues to rain in FP3.”

Enea Bastianini ha sido 12º en la clasificación combinada con un tiempo de 1:42.842, conseguido en la sesión de la tarde. En el segundo entrenamiento libre, las condiciones de la pista han mejorado respecto al primero, lo que ha permitido una mejora notoria de los tiempos.

Por su parte, Luca Marini ha terminado el primer día 6º con un mejor tiempo de 1:42.601. El piloto del Sky VR46 Avintia ha realizado un gran trabajo desde la mañana, y le permite colocarse en posiciones de acceso directo a la Q2, a la espera de disputar el tercer entrenamiento libre.

Mañana a partir de las 9:55 empezará el tercer entrenamiento de la categoría reina, y, posteriormente, el cuarto entrenamiento libre y la clasificación del Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna.

“Ha sido un día positivo y estoy contento con mi actuación. Ha sido una lástima porque por 40 milésimas estoy fuera de la Q2, aún debo mejorar en condiciones de mojado. En el FP2 hemos dado un pequeño paso adelante y finalmente he terminado 12º. Cuando la pista se ha ido secando me he encontrado más cómodo encima de la moto, aún así, todo era muy delicado. En general estoy contento con mi primer día de Misano y mañana intentaremos mejorar para estar en la Q2.”

“Estoy muy contento con el día de hoy, he tenido muy buenas sensaciones en mojado y también en la parte final de la segunda sesión con la pista más seca. La última vuelta ha sido buena y sólo he tenido un intento después del cambio de neumáticos. El plan inicial era salir con el neumático blando, pero la pista ya estaba seca y he vuelto a entrar en el último momento para poner el medio. No he cometido ningún error y he conseguido un buen tiempo de vuelta que me será útil mañana si sigue lloviendo en la FP3.”

“Estamos de vuelta en Misano. Hace un poco más de frío, lo que hará que sea un fin de semana diferente respecto a la última vez que estuvimos aquí. Debemos de intentar empezar de cero con el ‘set up’ de la moto. Tuvimos una buena carrera en Austin, así que llegamos aquí con buenas sensaciones y tenemos una buena base en la que trabajar. Intentaremos ser constantes para hacer una buena clasificación el sábado y prepararnos para la carrera, lo cual es importante para poder comenzar lo más adelante posible.”

“Estoy contento de volver a Misano. El gran premio de casa siempre es especial y llegar aquí habiendo corrido ya una carrera y teniendo una base desde la que partir es positivo. No fue un fin de semana fácil a principios de septiembre, pero pudimos trabajar duro en los dos días de ‘test’ que siguieron a la carrera. Intentaremos aprovecharlo y tener un buen fin de semana.”
