Avintia Esponsorama and Sky VR46 Avintia finished the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas race, with both riders crossing the finish line in the points zone.

Enea Bastianini made a remarkable comeback. The Italian rider, who failed to close a good lap in qualifying, started 16th. After a good start, Bastianini was able to recover positions thanks to a great pace, to finish in a superb 6th position, getting another great result for him and for the team.

For his part, Luca Marini was able to return to the points positions in Austin. The Sky VR46 Avintia rider, who started 9th, lost a few positions at the start after the funnel at the first corner. From there, the Italian managed to hold on to a good 14th position, which allows him to score two more points.

Avintia Esponsorama and Sky VR46 Avintia will return to the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in three weeks’ time for the Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna.

“It was another unexpected result. Yesterday we had a difficult day, but we knew that our potential on this track was quite high. I had a good race, and in the first laps I tried to recover some positions. I didn’t know if I would arrive to the end of the race, because I went to the maximum and it’s a really tough track. On the last lap I managed to overtake Mir and Miller and it was a lot of fun. We knew we could fight for the top 10, but we didn’t expect to get this 6th. Another great result and we will try to keep it going.”

“In the race we had a bit of the same problems as in the last races and that didn’t allow me to make the difference I would have liked in terms of riding. Overall it was a positive weekend, we have to be happy with the whole team for the progress we have made since Misano. I struggled a lot physically, it was a long race and I struggled to ride the way I wanted to be faster.”

El Avintia Esponsorama y el Sky VR46 Avintia han finalizado la carrera del Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas, donde ambos pilotos han conseguido cruzar la línea de meta en posiciones de puntos.

Enea Bastianini ha ejecutado una remontada para enmarcar. El piloto italiano, que no consiguió cerrar una vuelta en la clasificación, arrancaba 16º. Tras una buena salida, Bastianini ha podido recuperar posiciones gracias a un gran ritmo, para terminar en una magnífica 6ª posición, sumando de nuevo otro gran resultado para él y para el equipo.

Por su parte, Luca Marini ha conseguido en Austin volver a las posiciones de puntos. El piloto del Sky VR46 Avintia, que salía 9º, ha perdido algunas posiciones en la salida tras el embudo de la primera curva. A partir de ahí, el italiano ha conseguido aguantar una buena 14ª posición, que le permite sumar dos puntos más.

El Avintia Esponsorama y el Sky VR46 Avintia volverán dentro de tres semanas al Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli para disputar el Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna.

“Ha sido otro resultado inesperado. Ayer tuvimos un día complicado, pero sabíamos que nuestro potencial en esta pista era bastante alto. He hecho una buena carrera, y en las primeras vueltas he intentado recuperar varias posiciones. No sabía si llegaría bien al final de carrera, porque he ido al máximo y es una pista realmente dura. En la última vuelta he logrado adelantar a Mir y a Miller y ha sido muy divertido. Sabíamos que podríamos luchar por el top 10, pero no esperábamos llegar hasta la 6ª posición. Otro gran resultado e intentaremos seguir así.”

“En la carrera nos hemos encontrado un poco con los mismos problemas que en las últimas carreras y que no me permiten marcar la diferencia que me gustaría en términos de pilotaje. En general ha sido un fin de semana positivo, tenemos que estar contentos con todo el equipo por los progresos realizados desde Misano. Me ha costado mucho físicamente, ha sido una carrera larga, y me ha costado pilotar como quería para ser más rápido.”

Avintia Esponsorama and Sky VR46 Avintia have disputed this Saturday the qualifying of the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas at the COTA circuit.

Enea Bastianini will start the race in Austin from 16th position after failing to go through the Q1 cut. The Italian rider will be looking for another good result tomorrow to continue scoring points.

Luca Marini was 9th, his best qualifying position since his debut in the premier class. For the second time this season, the Sky VR46 Avintia rider fought for pole position in Q2 after leading Q1.

Tomorrow at 21:00 (CET+2) the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas race will start, where Bastianini and Marini will be looking for a good result.

“It was a difficult day. This morning we had a good start and I felt comfortable to do some good laps. This afternoon in qualifying I didn’t feel good on the bike. We need to understand what happened so we can work on it. Tomorrow we start a little bit behind, so it won’t be easy, but we’ll try to do the best we can.”

“I am very happy with the qualifying and the lap time, because it means we are doing well and we can see the results of our efforts at the Misano test. I feel better on the bike and I can ride the way I want to ride. In FP3 and FP4 we had some problems and maybe for the first time this season we have some doubts about the tyre choice for tomorrow. Our options are soft or medium on the rear, we will look at the data from the other Ducati and decide after the warm up. The team is doing a great job and I had fun today.”

Enea Bastianini partirá la carrera en Austin desde la 16ª posición al no poder superar el corte de la Q1. El piloto italiano mañana para sumar otro buen resultado que le permita seguir sumando puntos.

Luca Marini ha sido 9º, consiguiendo su mejor posición en clasificación desde su debut en la categoría reina. Por segunda vez esta temporada, el piloto del Sky VR46 Avintia ha peleado por la ‘pole position’ en la Q2 tras liderar la Q1.

Mañana a las 21:00 (CET+2) dará comienzo la carrera del Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas, donde Bastianini y Marini buscarán conseguir un buen resultado.

“Ha sido un día difícil. Esta mañana hemos tenido un buen comienzo y me he sentido cómodo para hacer alguna buena vuelta. Esta tarde en la clasificación no me he acabado de sentir bien con la moto. Necesitamos entender lo que ha pasado para poder trabajar en ello. Mañana comenzamos un poco atrasados, por lo que no será fácil, pero intentaremos hacerlo lo mejor que podamos.”

“Estoy muy contento con la clasificación y con el tiempo por vuelta, porque significa que lo estamos haciendo bien y que podemos ver los frutos de nuestros esfuerzos en el test de Misano. Me siento mejor en la moto y puedo pilotar como quiero. En los FP3 y FP4 hemos tenido algunos problemas y quizás por primera vez esta temporada tenemos algunas dudas sobre la elección de los neumáticos para mañana. Nuestras opciones son el blando o el medio en la parte trasera, miraremos los datos de las otras Ducati y decidiremos después del warm up. El equipo está haciendo un gran trabajo y hoy me he divertido.”

Avintia Esponsorama and Sky VR46 Avintia had their first taste of the COTA circuit on Friday after the first two free practice sessions of the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas.

Enea Bastianini and Luca Marini finished 10th and 12th in the combined combined free practice times at the end of the first day. In the morning session and in wet conditions, both riders were able to get their first laps on the MotoGP bike and start to get confidence with the track.

In the afternoon, in dry conditions, Bastianini was 10th fastest with a time of 2:04.836, whilst Luca Marini set the 12th fastest time of the second free practice session after stopping the clock at 2:04.933.

Tomorrow at 16:55 (GMT+2) Bastianini and Marini will be back on track for the third free practice and then the fourth free practice and the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas qualifying.

“It was an interesting first day. The asphalt is very bumpy and it wasn’t easy. The morning was wet and I tried to start to get some confidence. FP2 was completely dry, but I had some pain in my back caused by the crash I had in the Misano test, and I didn’t feel 100%. Anyway, we had a good lap. In the fast corners I feel good, but in the slow ones I still suffer a little bit. We have all day tomorrow to work and we will try to make a step forward.”

“A good and positive day. We were able to run in both conditions and I was fast in all sessions. It was a difficult situation to manage, especially with the many bumps in the track. Probably one of the most complicated things I’ve ever had to deal with riding a MotoGP bike, which is a shame because the track is very nice. I don’t think they can do anything between now and tomorrow, so all we have to do is work on the bike to make sure we can push as hard as we can and not make any mistakes. We will definitely talk with the other riders in the Safety Commission because this is close to be dangerous. Overall, the feeling on the bike is good, most of the work we did at the Misano test has worked on this track and hopefully the weather will be good for qualifying.”

El Avintia Esponsorama y el Sky VR46 Avintia han tenido este viernes su primera toma de contacto con el circuito de COTA tras disputar los dos primeros entrenamientos libres del Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas.

Enea Bastianini y Luca Marini han terminado 10º y 12º en la clasificación combinada al final de la primera jornada. En la sesión matinal y en condiciones de mojado, ambos pilotos han podido dar sus primeras vueltas con la MotoGP y empezar a coger confianza con el trazado.

Por la tarde, y ya en condiciones de seco, Bastianini ha sido el 10º más rápido, con un tiempo de 2:04.836. Por su parte, tras parar el cronómetro en 2:04.933, Luca Marini ha marcado el 12º registro más rápido del segundo entrenamiento libre.

Mañana a las 16:55 (GMT+2), Bastianini y Marini volverán a saltar a la pista para disputar el tercer entrenamiento libre y, posteriormente, el cuarto entrenamiento libre y la clasificación del Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas.

“Ha sido un primer día interesante. El asfalto está muy bacheado y no ha sido fácil. La mañana ha sido en mojado y he intentado empezar a coger confianza. El FP2 ya ha sido completamente en seco, pero he tenido algo de dolor en la espalda causado por la caída que tuve en el test de Misano, y no me he acabado de sentir al 100%. De todas formas, hemos cerrado una buena vuelta. En las curvas rápidas me siento bien, pero en las lentas sufro aún un poco. Tenemos todo el día de mañana para trabajar e intentaremos dar un paso adelante.”

“Un día bueno y positivo. Hemos podido rodar en ambas condiciones y he sido rápido en todas las sesiones. Era una situación difícil de gestionar, especialmente por los numerosos baches en el asfalto. Probablemente una de las cosas más complicadas a las que me he enfrentado pilotando una MotoGP, lo cual es una pena porque la pista es muy bonita. No creo que puedan hacer nada entre hoy y mañana, así que lo único que tenemos que hacer es trabajar en la moto para asegurarnos de que podemos empujar al máximo y no cometer ningún error. Sin duda, hablaremos con los demás pilotos en la ‘Safety Commission’ porque estamos al borde de lo peligroso. En general, las sensaciones sobre la moto son buenas, la mayor parte del trabajo que hicimos en el test de Misano ha funcionado en esta pista y esperamos que el tiempo sea bueno para la clasificación.”

Two years later, Avintia Esponsorama and Sky VR46 Avintia will return to the United States for the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas, the 15th round of the calendar.

Enea Bastianini arrives in Texas after his first podium in the premier class in San Marino. The Italian rider wants to continue his great performance at the Circuit of the Americas and to get another great result.

Luca Marini arrives in the United States with renewed energy. The Sky VR46 Avintia rider had a positive test in Misano and is very motivated for the weekend in Austin, aiming to get back in the points positions.

On Friday at 16:55 (CET+2), the first free practice for the premier class of the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas will get underway.

“We are ready. Misano gave us the right energy and we did something incredible, we worked well all weekend and it was a very special Grand Prix. We know that the Circuit of the Americas is a difficult track, however, I think we can do a good job. In 2019 I was able to ride the Moto2 and I liked it a lot. We will have to look for a good set-up from Friday, as it is very important in this track.”

“Austin is undoubtedly one of the most special and difficult circuits on the calendar. We have a week of hard work ahead of us, where we have to make the most of what we did at the Misano test last week. We tried some new solutions and we were fast. The last few weekends have not been easy and the goal is definitely to get back in the points.”

Luca Marini aterriza en los Estados Unidos con energía renovada. El piloto del Sky VR46 Avintia tuvo un test muy positivo en Misano y afronta muy motivado el fin de semana en Austin, con el objetivo de volver a la zona de puntos.

El viernes a las 16:55 (CET+2), comenzará el primer entrenamiento libre de la categoría reina del Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas.

“Estamos listos. Misano nos dio la energía adecuada e hicimos algo increíble, trabajamos bien todo el fin de semana y fue un gran premio muy especial. Sabemos que el Circuito de las Américas es una pista difícil, sin embargo, creo que podemos hacer un buen papel. En 2019 pude pilotar la Moto2 y me gustó mucho. Tendremos que buscar una buena puesta a punto desde el viernes, ya que es muy importante con todos los cambios de dirección.”

“Austin es sin duda uno de los circuitos más especiales y difíciles del calendario. Nos espera una semana de duro trabajo, en la que tenemos que sacar el máximo partido a lo que hicimos en el test de Misano la semana pasada. Probamos algunas soluciones nuevas y fuimos rápidos. Los últimos fines de semana no han sido fáciles y el objetivo es definitivamente volver a la zona de puntos.”

Avintia Esponsorama and Sky VR46 Avintia completed the Gran Premio Octo di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini race, where Enea Bastianini took his first podium in the premier class.

The Avintia Esponsorama rider rode an almost perfect race. After starting from 12th position, lap after lap, Bastianini recovered positions thanks to a great pace, even setting the historic fastest lap record in the race. With 8 laps to go, the Italian was able to consolidate his 3rd position, achieving his first ever podium in MotoGP in front of his crowd.

Luca Marini was unable to finish higher than 19th. The Sky VR46 Avintia rider was fighting for the top 15, but a long lap penalty with 18 laps to go ruined any chance of scoring points.

After a very positive weekend for the team, Avintia Esponsorama and Sky VR46 Avintia will head to the United States in two weeks, where the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas, the 15th round of the calendar, will take place.

“It was an unexpected result, but since this morning I thought it was possible because I saw that I could do good lap times easily. We were able to find a good set-up on the bike and I was able to enjoy. In the middle of the race I felt really good and when I overtook Miller, I kept setting my pace. I knew I had Quartararo and Bagnaia in front of me and I wanted to try to attack them, but I was already pretty much at the limit. I’m very happy with this 3rd position and it was great to get this podium in Misano.”

“I didn’t have a bad start, but from the beginning I didn’t have enough speed to overtake riders in my group like Pirro, Binder or Nakagami. In the slipstream, the temperature of the front tyre went up and that’s something I have to work on, because I’m still not used to managing it to the maximum. I went long at Turn 1, then I tried to lose time to let other riders pass me, but I still got a long lap penalty that pushed me back to the last positions. I struggled to recover, I suffered a lot with the front tyre and, with seven laps to go, the left side of the rear tyre was badly damaged. We have to work, we are at a standstill and the two days of testing this week will be very important.”

El piloto del Avintia Esponsorama ha realizado una carrera prácticamente perfecta. Tras arrancar desde la 12ª posición, vuelta tras vuelta, Bastianini ha ido recuperando posiciones gracias a un gran ritmo, marcando incluso el récord de vuelta rápida histórico en carrera. A falta de 8 vueltas para el final, el italiano ha podido consolidar la 3ª posición, consiguiendo así su primer podio en MotoGP delante de su afición.

Por su parte, Luca Marini no ha podido ir más allá de la 19ª posición. El piloto del Sky VR46 Avintia ha luchado por el top 15, pero una ‘long lap penalty’ a falta de 18 vueltas para el final le ha arruinado cualquier posibilidad de sumar puntos.

Tras un fin de semana muy positivo para el equipo, el Avintia Esponsorama y el Sky VR46 Avintia pondrán rumbo a los Estados Unidos en dos semanas, donde se disputará el Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas, 15ª cita del calendario.

“Ha sido un resultado inesperado, pero desde esta mañana creía que era posible porque he visto que podía hacer buenos tiempos con facilidad. Hemos sido capaces de encontrar una buena puesta a punto en la moto y he podido divertirme. A mitad de carrera me he sentido muy bien y cuando he adelantado a Miller, he seguido imponiendo mi ritmo. Sabía que tenía a Quartararo y Bagnaia delante y quería tratar de atacarlos, pero ya estaba bastante al límite. Estoy muy contento con esta 3ª posición y ha sido fantástico conseguir este podio en Misano.”

“No he hecho una mala salida, pero desde el principio no he tenido suficiente velocidad para adelantar a pilotos de mi grupo como Pirro, Binder o Nakagami. En el rebufo, la temperatura del neumático delantero ha subido y eso es algo en lo que tengo que trabajar, porque todavía no estoy acostumbrado a gestionarlo al máximo. Me he ido largo en la curva 1, luego he intentado perder tiempo para dejar que me pasaran otros pilotos, pero aún así he recibido una ‘long lap penalty’ que me ha rezagado a las últimas posiciones. Me ha costado recuperar, he sufrido mucho con el tren delantero y, cuando faltaban siete vueltas, el lado izquierdo del neumático trasero estaba muy dañado. Tenemos que trabajar, estamos en un punto muerto y los dos días de test esta semana serán muy importantes.”
