Reale Avintia Racing – GP of Catalunya– Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

Tito Rabat shone at his home Grand Prix today, clocking the eighth fastest lap in qualifying in front of his Spanish fans.

This weekend has been one of the best ever for the Catalonian rider this season so far. He moved straight up to Q2 with a lap time of 1’39.256 in the third free practice session. In qualifying, he battled his way into the Top Ten even though he didn’t find the best feeling with the front of his Ducati. With a best lap time of 1’39.504 minutes, he will now start the race from the third row of the grid. He is ready to race at 100% and he is determined to push hard and to ride the best possible race at his home GP.

It was an unlucky day for Xavier Simeon. After making a step forward and improving his pace in free practice, he did the last exit in FP4 with the hardest front tyre and he crashed in the final minutes. When he crashed again in Q1, his crew repaired the bike in record time and Simeon went out again, improving his lap time. But unfortunately, he exceeded the track limits on his hottest lap and his lap time was cancelled. On Sunday, Simeon is determined to recover and to show his real potential in the race.

“Today has been a positive day, because we did a good practice and this morning we went straight in Q2. In FP4 we also had a great pace and I’m confident for the race. But in Q2 I struggled in the braking areas. Nevertheless, we are ready to race, we just have to wait and see what the weather will be like and if it’s cooler or warmer than today, because this will be crucial for our tyre choice. Needless to say, we will give our best in the race tomorrow. If I have a good start, I’ll be able to fight for a strong result.”

“Qualifying was really difficult for us today. I was very happy with the bike and in FP3 I was 1.3s from the fastest rider, which is the closest we have ever been this season. But in FP4 I tried the hardest front tyre and I crashed in turn 2. In Q1 I crashed again and thanks to the quick work of my mechanics I was able to take to the track again. It was a strange session, because honestly we expected to qualify better. Tomorrow I’ll try to recover, because I think my pace is better than my position on the grid.”

Tito Rabat ha brillado hoy en su casa, ante su afición, después de conseguir la novena posición para la parrilla de salida en el Gran Premio de Catalunya.

Para el piloto catalán está siendo uno de sus mejores fines de semana de la temporada; ha conseguido pasar a la Q2 en el FP3 de la mañana, tras marcar un tiempo de 1’39.256 y durante los cronometrados, aunque no se ha sentido cómodo del todo con su Ducati, se ha metido en la tercera línea de la parrilla con un tiempo de 1’39.504. Mañana espera dar el 100%, al igual que hoy, y luchar por hacer su mejor carrera en casa.

Xavier Simeon ha tenido muy mala suerte, ya que ha dado un paso hacia delante con su Ducati en los libres y tiene buenas sensaciones. Pero en el FP4 ha probado un neumático delantero más duro y ha sufrido una caída justo al final de la sesión. En la Q1 se ha vuelto a ir al suelo y, aunque ha vuelto a salir y ha mejorado sus tiempos, la vuelta ha sido anulada al exceder los límites de la pista. Mañana le toca remontar y mantener un buen ritmo para luchar por los puntos en la carrera.

“El día ha sido muy positivo porque hemos realizado unos buenos entrenamientos y esta mañana hemos pasado el corte y he conseguido clasificarme para la Q2. En el FP4 también hemos rodado en tiempos ideales, con un buen ritmo de cara a la carrera de mañana. Pero durante la Q2 me costaba un poco frenar. Estamos listos para la carrera, solo queda ver si mañana hace mucho calor como hoy o un poco menos, porque eso puede cambiar totalmente la elección del neumático delantero. Mañana daremos el máximo, y si hacemos una salida correcta podremos luchar por una buena posición.”

“Los cronometrados han sido hoy muy complicados. Realmente estaba muy contento con la moto y en el FP3 me he quedado a 1,3 segundos del primero, que es lo más cerca que hemos acabado este año. Pero en el FP4 he probado un neumático más duro delante y me he caído en la curva 2. En la Q1 me he caído otra vez, pero he podido volver a pista porque los mecánicos han hecho un trabajo muy bueno, reparando la moto en dos ocasiones y de manera súper rápida. Ha sido una tarde muy extraña porque esperábamos hacer unos mejores cronos. Mañana intentaremos hacer una buena remontada porque tenemos buen ritmo.”

The Grand Prix of Catalunya started in a positive way for Reale Avintia Racing riders Tito Rabat and Xavier Simeon. Rabat finished the opening day in 11th place with a best lap time of 1’39.851 and he has a strong race pace for Sunday. He now hopes to go straight to the Q2 qualifying session for the Top Ten riders of the MotoGP class tomorrow and also to score a top result at his home Grand Prix on Sunday. The Spaniard, who suffered a big crash during the test held at this track a few weeks ago, is happy with the new tarmac and the revised layout, even though he thinks there is room for improvement in certain areas.

Xavier Simeon made a step forward at the Catalonian venue. With a best lap time of 1’40.697, he finished 21st in the combined standings. The MotoGP rookie is on the right track and he is getting closer to achieve his goal that he set at the beginning of the season: to battle within the top 15 places.

The expectations are high for tomorrow’s qualifying sessions and the riders, together with the team, are giving their 100% to honour Andreas Pérez in the race on Sunday.

“The first day at my home Grand Prix was very positive, as we found a good pace and did some fast laps. We finished 11th today, but I’m confident to be faster tomorrow. We have to keep working to find another few tenths of a second tomorrow. The track surface is very good, it’s really fast now, but the problem is that there is only one race line and if you miss it and get off line, it’s dirty and tricky.”

“I’m happy because this morning we finished in 16th place and we were 20th in the afternoon. Even better, we improved our pace on every exit. We are stronger, but we need to keep going in this direction to get closer to the top 15. We improved a lot, also compared with the test we did here, and this is the most positive thing about today. To be faster is good for my morale, because even thoough I was closer to the other riders in the last few races, I always was behind them. Now it’s time to rest and we will push again tomorrow.”

Les coses han anat bé per l’equip Reale Avintia Racing i els seus pilots, Tito Rabat i Xavier Simeon el primer dia al Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Tito Rabat ha acabat el divendres a la 10a plaça, amb un temps de 1’39.851 i amb un ritme molt bo que li beneficiarà per a la carrera del diumenge. Rabat espera que entrarà en la Q2 i classificar-se entre els deu primers en el seu Gran Premi de casa. El pilot, que va sofrir una caiguda en les proves realitzades fa unes setmanes per conèixer les modificacions del traçat català, està content amb el nou asfalt, encara que creu que hi ha alguns punts que es podrien millorar.

Xavier Simeon ha donat un pas cap endavant al Circuit de Barcelona- Catalunya als entrenaments lliures del divendres, amb un temps de 1’40.697. El rookie de MotoGP està en el camí correcte i s’aproxima a l’objectiu que tenia des de l’inici del Mundial 2018, estar entre els quinze primers llocs de la taula.

Les expectatives són molt positives per als classificatoris de matí i els pilots, juntament amb l’equip, estan donant el 100% per honrar al seu company Andreas Pérez.

“El primer dia a casa ha estat positiu i hem aconseguit rodar amb molt bon ritme i fent-ne molt bones. Avui hem aconseguit estar en la primera plaça i sé que a la tarda podem anar moltíssim més ràpid. Hi ha que treballar per que demà retallem aquest temps que ens falta. El circuit està molt bé, és molt ràpid, però només hi ha una línia i si surts d’ella està molt brut i és delicat”.

“Estic satisfet perquè hem estat a la sisena posició després a la 20a i anem baixant el temps. Som molt millors, perquè encara que ens queda, estem molt lluny dels 15 primers. Hem millorat bastant, en comparació amb el test i això és molt positiu Veurem més a dalt és molt bo per la meva moral, perquè encara que darrerament no estava molt lluny d’alguns pilots, sempre estava darrere. Ara, cal tornar a dormir a la nit i seguir a la mateixa línia demà”.

Las cosas han ido bien para el equipo Reale Avintia Racing y sus pilotos, Tito Rabat y Xavier Simeon el primer día en el Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Tito Rabat ha terminado el viernes en la undécima plaza, con un tiempo de 1’39.851 y con un ritmo muy bueno que le beneficiará para la carrera del domingo. Rabat espera mañana entrar en la Q2 y clasificarse entre los diez primeros en su Gran Premio de casa. El piloto, que sufrió una caída en los test realizados hace unas semanas para conocer las modificaciones del trazado catalán, está contento con el nuevo asfalto, aunque cree que hay algunos puntos que se podrían mejorar.

Xavier Simeon ha dado un paso hacia delante en el Circuit de Barcelona- Catalunya en los entrenamientos libres del viernes, con un tiempo de 1’40.697. El rookie de MotoGP está en el camino correcto y se va acercando al objetivo que tenía desde el inicio del Mundial 2018, estar dentro de los quince primeros puestos de la tabla.

Las expectativas son muy positivas para los clasificatorios de mañana y los pilotos, junto con el equipo, están dando el 100% para honrar a su compañero Andreas Pérez.

“El primer día en casa ha sido positivo y hemos conseguido rodar con muy buen ritmo y haciendo vueltas muy buenas. Hoy hemos conseguido estar en la undécima plaza y sé que mañana podemos ir muchísimo más rápido. Hay que trabajar para que mañana recortemos este tiempo que nos falta. El circuito está muy bien, es muy rápido pero sólo hay una línea y si te sales de ella está muy sucio y es delicado.”

“Estoy contento porque hemos estado en la decimosexta posición luego en la 20ª y vamos bajando el tiempo. Estamos mucho mejor, porque aunque todavía nos queda nos estamos muy lejos del top 15. Hemos mejorado bastante, comparado con el test y eso es muy positivo. Verme más arriba es muy bueno para mi moral, porque aunque últimamente no estaba muy lejos de algunos pilotos, siempre estaba detrás. Ahora toca descansar esta noche y seguir en la misma línea mañana. “

MotoGP GP of Catalunya – Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

The Reale Avintia Racing team has arrived at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit, making preparations for the second home Grand Prix of the season. It will be a very emotional weekend for all team members, just a few days after the tragic loss of Andreas Perez who had a fatal accident during the Moto3 Junior World Championship on Sunday.

Tito Rabat heads to Barcelona highly motivated and with his left arm fully recovered. He is looking forward to a strong result in front of the Spanish fans. The results in the last races have been far from the real level of the Catalan rider and this weekend, he is determined to leave his bad luck behind.

It will be also an important weekend for Xavier Simeon. The Reale Avintia Racing Belgian rider has been training hard and he did a promising one-day-test last month in Barcelona, so he is confident to get on the pace from Friday and to be fighting for a better result on Sunday’s 24-lap-race.

“I’m looking forward to start my home Grand Prix. I arrive with my arm at a 100% and I want to do a good race in Montmelo and give my best in front of my home crowd. It will be a sad weekend for all of us as we lost one of the youngest members of our team. Rest in peace Andreas. All my thoughts are with your family and friends.”

“I arrive at Barcelona very motivated. I trained hard during the last week to be ready and to start the weekend in a positive way. We did a test here a few weeks ago and it was quite positive, so I expect to start with a good base set-up and hopefully climb up to more decent positions. I really want to be with the group and I’ll give my best to achieve this. I want to send all my support to the family of Andreas. His loss has been really hard for the team.”

El equipo Reale Avintia Racing ya está en el Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya preparando todo para el segundo Gran Premio de la temporada en casa. El fin de semana será muy emotivo y también difícil para todos los miembros del equipo, solo unos días después de la pérdida de Andreas Pérez en la carrera del Mundial Junior de Moto3.

Tito Rabat llega muy motivado, con su brazo izquierdo totalmente recuperado y con ganas de firmar un buen resultado delante de la afición de casa. El piloto catalán lleva varias carreras sin poder demostrar su verdadero potencial y llega dispuesto a dejar atrás esta mala racha en el Circuit.

Para Xavier Simeon también será un fin de semana importante. El piloto belga del equipo Reale Avintia Racing ha entrenado duro y después de haber completado un día de entrenamientos en Barcelona a finales del mes pasado, confía en comenzar fuerte desde el viernes para estar más arriba en la carrera a 24 vueltas del domingo.

“Tengo muchas ganas de llegar al Gran Premio de casa, llego recuperado al 100% del brazo y quiero hacer una buena carrera en Montmeló, así que voy a darlo todo delante de la afición. Será un fin de semana muy triste para todos por la pérdida de uno de los miembros más jóvenes de nuestro equipo. Descansa en paz, Andreas. Mi pésame a su familia y amigos”.

“Llego a Barcelona muy motivado, me he entrenado muchísimo esta semana para llegar preparado al máximo y empezar el fin de semana de manera positiva. Además hicimos un día de test hace unas semanas y no fue mal, por eso espero poder empezar a trabajar con una buena puesta a punto base y luchar para estar en posiciones más decentes. MotoGP GP de Italia – Mugello

El piloto del equipo Reale Avintia Racing, Tito Rabat, ha disputado hoy en Mugello su Gran Premio número 200 en el Campeonato del Mundo. Con su brazo izquierdo todavía dolorido tras la fuerte caída sufrida en el test de Barcelona, Rabat ha aguantado las 23 vueltas de la carrera de MotoGP y ha cruzado la meta 13º. No es la posición que había soñado, pero ha logrado acabar una carrera muy difícil en la que cinco pilotos no han terminado y en total siete han se han caído. Y aunque el brazo le ha molestado un poco, el mayor problema ha sido el aumento de la temperatura en el asfalto que ha provocado una caída súbita del rendimiento del neumático delantero. Ahora Rabat solo piensa en recuperarse completamente para el Gran Premio de casa en Montmeló, donde espera volver a estar en el Top 10.

Xavier Simeon también ha aguantado toda la carrera, aunque una vez más no ha terminado satisfecho con su posición final. El belga ha salido muy bien, pero enseguida ha comenzado a tener problemas con el neumático trasero. El ‘rookie’ del equipo Reale Avintia Racing ha cruzado la meta en 17ª posición, su mejor carrera desde que debutó en MotoGP en el Gran Premio de Qatar. Pero Simeon quiere estar más arriba y poder luchar con sus rivales. En Barcelona, donde completó un test bastante positivo, espera poder demostrar su potencial.

“Lo primero es que estoy muy contento haber sumado dos puntos cuando podría haberme quedado en casa tras la caída de Barcelona. La verdad es que ayer en los cronometrados lo hicimos bastante bien y hoy, sinceramente, me esperaba estar más arriba. Pero la carrera ha sido como si el neumático delantero fuera sobre hielo, las condiciones de la pista han cambiado muchísimo con el aumento de la temperatura y todos hemos sufrido un montón. Me ha costado mucho adaptarme y he tenido que ir ‘parado’, pero hemos terminado la carrera a 22 segundos del primero. Ahora toca pensar en Montmeló, mi carrera de casa donde espero volver a estar delante”.

“He salido muy bien y he ganado cuatro posiciones, pero después de cuatro o cinco vueltas he comenzado a tener problemas con el neumático trasero. Se iba de atrás al cortar y he estado a punto de caerme tres o cuatro veces al comienzo de la carrera. Aparte de esto me he concentrado en aguantar el ritmo y la carrera la verdad se ha hecho muy larga, porque he ido solo todo el tiempo. Esta mañana el warm-up ha sido positivo y hemos hecho unos cambios que me han ayudado a ir más cómodo en carrera. Pero no estoy contento, yo quiero luchar más adelante y tenemos que seguir trabajando”.

MotoGP GP of Italy – Mugello

Reale Avintia Racing rider Tito Rabat rode his 200th Grand Prix in the motorcycle world championship today at Mugello, and to celebrate this milestone, he conquered two points despite his injury. The left arm of the Spanish rider was still in pain after the heavy crash suffered at the Barcelona test last week, but Rabat grit his teeth and completed the gruelling 23-lap-race to cross the finish line in 13th position. Under normal circumstances, this position wouldn’t have been a dream result for Rabat, but to finish such a difficult race, which saw seven crashes and five riders not being classified, was an achievement in itself. Even though the arm injury continued to bother him throughout the race, Rabat’s main problem was the rise in asphalt temperatures, which caused a sudden drop in front tyre performance. Now, Rabat is only concentrating on his recovery in order to be fully fit for his home race at Montmeló in two weeks, where we wants to make his comeback within the Top Ten of the MotoGP category.

Xavier Simeon also hung in and finished a long and tough race, but wasn’t happy with his final position. The Belgian rider had a very good start, but ran into problems with his rear tyre early on in the race. The “rookie” of Reale Avintia Racing managed to bring his bike home in 17th position, which is his best result since his debut in the MotoGP class at the season-opening race in Qatar. Obviously, Simeon wants to finish higher up and to put up a fight with his rivals. In Barcelona, where he completed quite a promising test, he hopes to be able to show his true potential.

“First and foremost, I am happy that I scored two points here, when it would have been easy to stay at home after my crash at Barcelona. However, after doing so well in qualifying yesterday, I sincerely hoped to finish higher up. But in the race, the front tyre felt as if I was skating on ice. The track conditions had changed dramatically and with the rise in temperatures, we all suffered a lot. I struggled to adapt to these conditions. I rode with the handbrake on, so to speak, and we finished the race 22 seconds behind the winner. Now I am thinking of the next race at Montmeló, my home Grand Prix, where I hope to be able to fight for positions within the front group of riders again.”

“I started very well and I made up four positions, but after four or five laps, the problems with my rear tyre began. The rear end would step out every time I cut the gas and I was close to crashing on four or five occasions. Apart from that, I concentrated on trying to keep the pace, but the race was tough and felt especially long, because I was riding by myself for most of the time. The warm-up session this morning was positive and we made some changes that helped me to ride more comfortably in the race. But I am not satisfied. I want to fight higher up in the field, so we have to continue to work.”
