“Hem treballat bastant bé, sobretot quan ha començat a pujar la temperatura i amb els pneumàtics que fem servir ahir a la carrera. Hem trobat una solució als problemes que hem tingut durant el cap de setmana. També hem provat el pneumàtic davanter que ha portat Michelin, però a mi no m’ha agradat molt, no tinc el mateix ‘feeling’ que amb les d’aquest any. En general ha estat un dia d’entrenaments molt positiu i em vaig de Jerez molt més content del que vaig acabar ahir la cursa. Ara cal preparar-se al màxim per a Le Mans, la meva carrera de casa.”

Reale Avintia Racing riders Hector Barbera and Loris Baz completed a positive day of testing today at Jerez circuit. Barbera and Baz worked in the set-up of their bikes and test last season’s Michelin front tyre with stiffer carcass, that the whole MotoGP grid evaluated today at the Andalusian circuit.

The Spanish rider had very positive feelings, but not only with the tyres, mainly with the set-up and riding position changes made by his team to improve the lack of feeling with his Ducati Desmosedici GP16. He completes 60 laps with the fastest in 1’39.460, finishing the day 8^th in the time sheets.

His teammate Loris Baz has focussed with his team on solving the problems he suffered with his Desmosedici GP15 during the Spanish Grand Prix race, and he concentrated in this year front tyre, with which he has better feelings.

Next week Reale Avintia will head Le Mans for the French GP, the fifth round of the 2017 MotoGP World Championship.

“It was a positive day and I leave Jerez really happy. Today we finally found the good direction to get my feeling back and be comfortable riding my bike. At the end of the day I put one soft rear tyre and I did the best lap of my life at this circuit. The feelings are coming back and this is the best news of this test. Maybe we are not at 100% yet, but we are closer and this makes me very optimistic. We also tried the front Michelin bought here and I liked it, but the most important thing was the riding position changes, because I did the same lap times with both front tyres.”

“We did a really good job today when the track temperature was higher and using the same tyres from the race. We have found a solution to the problems we have had over the weekend. We also tested the front tyre that Michelin has brought, but I did not like it very much, I do not have the same feeling as with this year’s one. Overall it was a very positive practice day and I leave Jerez much happier than I finished the race yesterday. Now I have to work hard to prepare for my home race at Le Mans.”

Los pilotos del equipo Reale Avintia Racing, Héctor Barberá y Loris Baz, han completado un positivo test de un día en el circuito de Jerez. Después de terminar la carrera del domingo peleando por la duodécima posición, Barberá y Baz han dedicado la jornada a trabajar en la puesta a punto de sus motos y probar otra vez el neumático delantero de Michelin de la pasada temporada, con la carcasa más rígida, que todos los pilotos de la parrilla han evaluado hoy en el trazado andaluz.

Las sensaciones del piloto español han sido muy positivas, pero sobre todo con los cambios de posición y soluciones que ha probado con su equipo para mejorar la falta de ‘feeling’ que le persigue desde que se subió a su Ducati Desmosedici GP16. Ha completado 60 vueltas y al final ha parado el cronómetro en 1’39.460, terminando el día octavo en la tabla de tiempos.

Su compañero Loris Baz ha trabajado mucho para solucionar los problemas que tuvo con su Desmosedici GP15 durante la carrera del Gran Premio de España, y se ha centrado en trabajar con el neumático delantero actual, con el que tiene mejores sensaciones.

La próxima semana el Reale Avintia Racing viajará a Le Mans, la quinta prueba del Campeonato del Mundo de MotoGP 2017.

“Ha sido un día bastante positivo y me voy de Jerez muy contento. Hemos trabajado en la dirección correcta para recuperar mis sensaciones y encontrarme a gusto encima de la moto. Al final he montado un neumático blando y he dado la mejor vuelta de mi vida en este circuito. Las sensaciones vuelven y eso es la mejor noticia de estos entrenamientos. Quizás todavía no estamos al 100% pero estamos cerca y esto me hace ser muy optimista. Hemos probado el neumático delantero que Michelin ha traído aquí y me ha gustado mucho, pero lo más importante han sido los cambios de posición en la moto, porque con el de este año he rodado igual.”

“Hemos trabajado bastante bien, sobre todo cuando ha empezado a subir la temperatura y con los neumáticos que usamos ayer en la carrera. Hemos encontrado una solución a los problemas que hemos tenido durante el fin de semana. También hemos probado el neumático delantero que ha traído Michelin, pero a mí no me ha gustado mucho, no tengo el mismo ‘feeling’ que con las de este año. En general ha sido un día de entrenamientos muy positivo y me voy de Jerez mucho más contento de lo que terminé ayer la carrera. Ahora hay que prepararse a tope para Le Mans, mi carrera de casa.”

Els pilots de l’equip Reale Avintia Racing, Héctor Barberá i Loris Baz, han acabat 12è i 13è, respectivament, al Gran Premi d’Espanya disputat avui a Jerez. El resultat està lluny de les aspiracions dels pilots i de l’equip, però després d’un cap de setmana molt complicat i, després de sortir des de la setena línia de la graella, acabar en els punts i a a pocs segons del ‘top 10’ ha estat positiu .
Baz ha realitzat una gran sortida des de la 19a posició i després d’unes primeres voltes molt bones ha arribat fins a l’onzena plaça. Héctor Barberá també ha guanyat bastants posicions en la primera meitat de la cursa i a estat tot el temps lluitant amb el seu company d’equip amb el Scott Redding. Però a falta de cinc voltes per al final, el britànic ha superat a Loris obrint un buit. Els dos últims girs de la cursa han estat molt emocionants i els pilots de Reale Avintia han lluitat per la dotzena posició fins a l’última corba.
Demà Barberá i Baz es quedaràn a Jerez per completar un importantíssim dia d’entrenaments.

“Podríem dir que avui en cursa hem fet un petit pas endavant. El més important del cap de setmana i, amb el que em quedo, és que he començat a sentir la moto hi ha tenir algunes sensacions amb el tren davanter, el que ha fet créixer la meva confiança. Crec que a poc a poc anem trobat el camí amb el canvi que vam fer de divendres a dissabte. Modifiquem la meva posició sobre de la moto per carregar més pes davant i poder sentir millor la roda i ara vaig més còmode. Fa dues carreres m’era impossible seguir Redding, o fins i tot al meu company Loris, i avui he fet tota la cursa amb ells. Demà tenim un dia de test que ens fa moltíssima falta i treballarem dur per començar a dominar la moto. Les últimes voltes amb Loris han estat molt boniques, m’agrada barallar amb ell, perquè tot i que amb el teu company sempre has de tenir més cura, ha estat molt divertit. ”

“Sabíem que seria una cursa molt complicada perquè aquest matí no hem trobat res i hem tornat als reglatges d’ahir. He fet una sortida bona i m’he col·locat bastant davant intentant aguantar el màxim possible. La veritat és que m’he sorprès a les onze primeres voltes perquè la moto anava bé, però just quan han començat a caure molts pilots en les ràpides he tingut un parell d’ensurts de davant, he salvat alguna caiguda i he decidit que era millor intentar aguantar fins al final. Però en les últimes cinc voltes ja no tenia res més, primer m’ha passat Scott i després he tingut una bona batalla amb Hèctor. Alguns avançaments han estat una mica justos, però ha estat molt divertit. És una pena que no haguem acabat més amunt, però aquí el més important era acabar la carrera a sobre de la moto.”

Los pilotos del equipo Reale Avintia Racing, Héctor Barberá y Loris Baz, han terminado 12º y 13º, respectivamente, en el Gran Premio de España disputado hoy en Jerez. El resultado está lejos de las aspiraciones de los pilotos y del equipo, pero después de un fin de semana muy complicado y, tras salir desde la séptima línea de la parrilla, acabar en los puntos y a pocos segundos del ‘top 10’ ha sido positivo.

Baz ha realizado una gran salida desde la 19ª posición y tras unas primeras vueltas muy buenas ha llegado hasta la undécima plaza. Héctor Barberá también ha ganado bastantes posiciones en la primera mitad de la carrera y ha estado todo el tiempo peleando con su compañero de equipo y con Scott Redding. Pero a falta de cinco vueltas para el final, el británico ha superado a Loris abriendo un hueco. Los dos últimos giros de la carrera han sido muy emocionantes y los pilotos de Reale Avintia han peleado por la duodécima posición hasta la última curva.

Mañana Barberá y Baz se quedarán en Jerez para completar un importantísimo día de entrenamientos.

“Podríamos decir que hoy en carrera hemos dado un pequeño paso adelante. Lo más importante del fin de semana y, con lo que me quedo, es que he empezado a sentir la moto y a tener algunas sensaciones con el tren delantero, lo que ha hecho crecer mi confianza. Creo que poco a poco vamos encontrado el camino con el cambio que hicimos del viernes al sábado. Modificamos mi posición encima de la moto para cargar más peso delante y poder sentir mejor la rueda y ahora voy más cómodo. Hace dos carreras me era imposible seguir Redding, o incluso a mi compañero Loris, y hoy he hecho toda la carrera con ellos. Mañana tenemos un día de test que nos hace muchísima falta y vamos a trabajar duro para empezar a dominar la moto. Las últimas vueltas con Loris han sido muy bonitas, me gusta pelear con él, porque aunque con tu compañero siempre tienes que tener más cuidado, ha sido muy divertido.”

“Sabíamos que iba a ser una carrera muy complicada porque esta mañana no hemos encontrado nada y hemos vuelto a los reglajes de ayer. He hecho una salida buena y me he colocado bastante delante intentando aguantar lo máximo posible. La verdad es que me he sorprendido en las once primeras vueltas porque la moto iba bien, pero justo cuando han empezado a caer muchos pilotos en las rápidas he tenido un par de sustos de delante, he salvado alguna caída y he decidido que era mejor intentar aguantar hasta el final. Pero en las últimas cinco vueltas ya no tenía nada más, primero me ha pasado Scott y luego he tenido una buena batalla con Héctor. Algunos adelantamientos han sido un poco justos, pero ha sido muy divertido. Es una pena que no hayamos terminado más arriba, pero aquí lo más importante era terminar la carrera encima de la moto.”

Reale Avintia Racing riders Hector Barbera and Loris Baz finished 21th and 13^th in the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez today. The result has been far from the expectations of riders and team, but following a tough weekend with a start from the seventh row of the grid, it was still encouraging to get some points and to finish just few seconds from the top ten.

Baz did a great start from 19^th place of the grid and rode some strong laps at the beginning to climb to 11^th place. Hector Barbera also gained a lot of places in the first half of the race and battled with his teammate and with Scott Redding throughout the race. The final five laps were really exciting to watch, with both Reale Avintia riders fighting for twelfth position until the last corner of the last lap.

Barbera and Baz will remain at Jerez tomorrow for a crucial day of testing.

“We could say that we made a little step forward in the race. The most important thing this weekend is that I started to get some feeling with the bike. I had feedback from the front end, which boosted my confidence. I think that we have started to find the right direction and I feel more comfortable on the bike. Two races ago it was impossible for me to stay with Redding or even with my teammate Loris, but today I was with them the whole race. Tomorrow we stay here for testing because we really need to work to tame this bike. The last few laps fighting with Loris had been fun, I like to fight with him and, although you have to be more careful because it is your teammate, I really enjoyed the battle.”

“We knew that the race was going to be tough because we tried something this morning and it did not work, so we went back to yesterday’s settings. I had a good start and gained some places. Then I tried to hold my position as long as possible. To be honest, I was surprised during the first eleven laps, because the bike was working well. But when a number of riders crashed, I also almost lost the front several times and I decided that it was crucial to finish the race. In the last five laps, I had nothing else up my sleeve and Scott overtook me. Then I had a good battle with Hector. Some of the passes were close, but I had a lot of fun. It’s a shame not being able to be closer to the front, but today the target was to stay on the bike until the chequered flag.”

Els pilots de l’equip Reale Avintia Racing, Loris Baz i Héctor Barberá, sortiran demà al Gran Premi d’Espanya des de la setena línia de la graella després d’acabar els entrenaments cronometrats en 20a i 21a posició, respectivament. Loris Baz, ha acabat bastant enfadat per no aconseguir recuperar les bones sensacions que va tenir en el test realitzat a Jerez el passat mes de novembre,

Reale Avintia Racing riders Loris Baz and Hector Barbera will start tomorrow’s Spanish Grand Prix from the seventh row of the grid after qualifying in 20^th and 21^st place today.

Loris Baz finished the day quite angry because he was not able to recover the good feeling he had during the private test in November where he was second with a best lap of 1’39.184. Obviously, the track temperature was not the same and Michelin introduced new tyre compounds since then, but Baz still expected to be stronger in the 15 minutes qualifying session today. He now will test some modifications during the warm-up session and he is confident to score points in tomorrow’s 27-lap race.

Although it does not reflect in his grid position, Hector Barbera ended the day with quite positive feelings following the drastic changes made last night on his Ducati Desmosedici GP16. His team worked to modify his riding position on the bike to improve the feeling with the front, which was his biggest nightmare since the season started. He expects to confirm these positive feelings tomorrow and build his confidence for the future.

“Today was a difficult day for me. The bike is really hard to ride and we are still missing one second from the pace we had during the winter test here. The feeling is a problem when I try to push harder, the bike does not want to turn and it has been tough so far. We will see if we can improve during the warm-up, but I don’t know if it will be enough to have the pace to avoid being at the back of the field.”

“This was a tough session. We modified the set-up of the bike, but I don’t get feedback from the front tyre. Since I got on this bike I’ve never been comfortable. This morning we changed my position on the bike and I started to get a better feel for the front end. I hope this change will make a difference for the race result. We will never give up. We have already bottomed out and from where we are now, we can only go up. I want to say big thanks to my team and to my sponsors for there work and mainly for understanding this situation.”

Los pilotos del equipo Reale Avintia Racing, Loris Baz y Héctor Barberá, saldrán mañana en el Gran Premio de España desde la séptima línea de la parrilla tras terminar los entrenamientos cronometrados en 20ª y 21ª posición, respectivamente.

Loris Baz, ha acabado bastante enfadado por no conseguir recuperar las buenas sensaciones que tuvo en el test realizado en Jerez el pasado mes de noviembre, cuando terminó segundo con un tiempo de 1’39.184. Obviamente la temperatura no es la misma y también Michelin ha introducido nuevos compuestos en sus neumáticos, pero Baz esperaba mucho más hoy en la sesión clasificatoria de 45 minutos. Aun así confía en que, con algunos cambios en su moto, pueda mejorar su ritmo de carrera y luchar por terminar en los puntos en la carrera a 27 vueltas de mañana.

Aunque la posición final no lo refleje, Héctor Barberá ha terminado el día con sensaciones bastante positivas después de realizar cambios bastante drásticos en su Ducati Desmosedici GP16. Su equipo ha trabajado para modificar la posición del piloto sobre la moto y conseguir mejorar su ‘feeling’ con la parte delantera, algo que le está condicionando en esta primera parte del campeonato. Mañana en carrera espera poder confirmarlo y dar otro paso en su proceso de adaptación a su nueva moto.

“Hoy ha sido un día complicado para mí. La moto es muy difícil de llevar y nos falta un segundo en comparación con los tiempos que hicimos en los test de invierno. El ‘feeling’ no me deja empujar, la moto no gira y me cuesta mucho. Vamos a probar varias cosas, mañana en el warm-up, pero a ver si es suficiente como para poder mantener un poco el ritmo y no estar tan atrás.”

“Ha sido una sesión un poco complicada. Hemos vuelto a modificar cosas, pero sigo sin sentir bien la rueda delantera. Desde que me subí en esta moto nunca he estado cómodo en ella. Esta mañana hemos cambiado mi posición encima de la moto y empiezo a sentir mejor el tren delantero. Espero que mañana este cambio se vea en el resultado. El equipo y yo no dejamos de luchar. Ya hemos tocado fondo y ahora solo podemos ir para arriba. Muchas gracias al equipo y los patrocinadores por su trabajo, y sobre todo por comprender esta situación.”
