Doha (Qatar) March 23, 2021 – A few days to go until the first race of this 2021 season, the chosen track was the Qatar Circuit where two events will be held on March 28 and April 4th , 2021.

The riders of Avintia Esponsorama Racing Enea Bastianini, current Moto2 world champion, and Luca Marini will participate in their first race in the queen category, after a three day tests in which they have been able to improve and have ended up with very positive sensations in their adaptation to the Ducati Bike.

#10 LUCA MARINI (SKY VR46 AVINTIA TEAM)

“It will be a more special race than normal. I don’t know what to expect, but I’m sure it’ll be very exciting for me to be on the grid. I am very satisfied with the tests and how I met the bike I would still have liked to be able to do more kilometers with my Ducati.  It is very important to implement the information we have obtained from the analysis of the test data and improve both the bike and the way I ride. The Qatar circuit adapts very well to the bike and I love running at night, I would say it’s the perfect situation to start the season.”

#23 ENEA BASTIANINI

“This Sunday will be my first MotoGP race.  I am very happy with how the tests have gone and how they have developed, I have had a lot of fun and above all I have started to understand how MotoGP works, I think I have learned a lot, but we still have a lot of work to do. It is not an easy category, but I hope to be able to achieve satisfactory results for the second race, in which it will be more important and essential to show progress.

SECOND OFFICIAL TEST DAY ON THE QATAR CIRCUIT WITH STRONG WINDS.

#23 – NICCOLÒ ANTONELLI – 2’06,517

“It’s been a windy day; we’ve tried a lot of things and I’m very happy. We still have to improve on some corners. Tomorrow is the last day of the test and we can keep moving forward. I thank the team for all the work we have done today.”

#99 – CARLOS TATAY – 2’06.143

“I take the positives things of these tests, we know what we’re doing and we know where we are. We’re getting better little by little. This morning we had some mistakes that don´t let us take advantage of the test anymore, but we have worked very well. In this last section with less wind we have been able to make a good time and a good lap. Thank you very much to the whole team, tomorrow we will be able to continue in the last days of testing before the race.”

Avintia Esponsorama Racing finished the San Marino Grand Prix race at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli with Eric Granado and Xavi Cardelús in 10th and 14th position respectively.

Despite the fact that Eric Granado’s race was conditioned by the penalty he received during the E-Pole, he has been able to complete an insane comeback. In the first lap the Brazilian rider was able to recover up five positions, but due to the few laps offered by the races in this category, finally Granado could not pass from the 10th position, adding six points very hard fought.

Xavi Cardelús has closed a weekend where he has managed to go from less to more and take a step forward. In spite of losing three positions during the initial lap, the Andorran rider has managed to move up in the classification managing to add two important points after crossing the finish line in 14th place.

Next week the second San Marino Grand Prix will be held at the same Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, where Avintia Esponsorama Racing will fight to return to the positions it deserves.

“I already knew the race would be very difficult when I started last. I couldn’t do much in such a short race, but I did what I could. The race got a little complicated at the end, I found a group that slowed me down by not being able to overtake, but I preferred to save points and not take risks. I’m far from where I would like to be, I know this is not my position, but now it’s time to think about the next weekend”.

“Bittersweet taste as the two mistakes I made in the first few laps have really hurt me. Once I was able to focus I was able I rode faster than the group in front of me, and even better than my fastest lap of the weekend. I’m happy about this and looking forward to improving next weekend”.

The Reale Avintia Moto3 team finished the Andalucia Grand Prix with a positive weekend for the team. Carlos Tatay scored the first points of the season at the Jerez-Ángel Nieto circuit by crossing the finish line in 13th position.

After the great performance during the qualifying session, the Valencian rider of the Reale Avintia Moto3 started the third race of the World Championship from the fourth line of the grid. Thanks to a great start, Carlos Tatay was able to move up to seventh position. After showing a constant rhythm and keeping a great part of the race in the second group, Tatay finally managed to add his first three points of the season, staying less than two seconds away from the ‘top-10’.

Reale Avintia Moto3 will take on the next round of the season at the Automotodrom Brno on August 7th, 8th and 9th.

“A very positive Sunday, I am satisfied with all the work that we have done. In the race I lacked a bit, especially in braking, to be with the front group, so we will continue working on our weak points to continue taking steps forward. Thanks to the team for all the work each race does.”
