El mundial de MotoGP aterriza esta semana en el mítico circuito de Silverstone (Inglaterra) con motivo de la duodécima prueba del campeonato. Se trata del trazado más largo de todo el campeonato con una longitud de 5.900m, cuenta con 10 curvas a la derecha y 8 a la izquierda. Después de los problemas de drenaje que sufrió el año pasado que impidieron la disputa de las carreras, se optó por reasfaltar nuevamente todo el trazado de cara al Gran Premio de esta temporada.

El piloto del Reale Avintia Arizona 77, Stefano Nepa, ha estado cerca de entrar en los puntos en las últimas carreras pero ciertos motivos han hecho que el italiano aún no haya conseguido puntuar des de que debutara con el equipo en Assen. A pesar de todo, la brecha con los quince primeros cada vez es menor y el objetivo de los puntos es más realista que nunca.

“La de Silverstone es una pista muy técnica y difícil. Este año han reasfaltado todo el circuito así que esperamos que sea mejor y no hayan baches pero lo más importante es que la meteorología acompañe. Me siento con las pilas cargadas y no veo el momento de salir a pista, tengo muchas ganas. El objetivo es acabar la carrera dentro de los puntos porque hemos estado cerca en un par de ocasiones pero nos falta terminar de rematar la faena así que estoy seguro que lo conseguiremos.”

Por lo que respecta a los pilotos del Reale Avintia Racing Team, Tito Rabat vuelve al circuito en el que sufrió en 2018 la lesión más grave de su carrera deportiva que a punto estuvo de costarle una pierna derecha que a día de hoy sigue maltrecha y en proceso de recuperación. No obstante, el rendimiento mostrado en las carreras previas hacen que el de Barcelona se muestre optimista de cara a este fin de semana. Por otro lado, Karel Abraham llega a Silverstone motivado después de entrar en los puntos en la última carrera celebrada hace dos semanas en Austria.


“Silvestone es una de pista a la que debería adapatarme bastante bien. Tiene curvas rápidas y la pista es bastante ancha. Estoy deseando volver allí y competir. Ojalá no llueva porque el año pasado tuvimos mucha mala suerte porque, al no drenar el asfalto, no pudimos correr, pero desde entonces la pista se ha reasfaltado y creo que nos divertiremos mucho de nuevo”.


“Tengo muchas ganas de llegar a Silverstone, es una pista que me gusta mucho y en la que hice, en mi opinión, la mejor carrera de mi vida en 2014. Espero que la meteorología esté de nuestra parte aunque en Inglaterra ya se sabe que es difícil hacer una previsión. Llevamos un par de carreras consistentes en las que hemos estado cerca de entrar en los puntos pero por un motivo u otro al final se nos han escapado.”

 

The Austrian race has left the MotoGP Reale Avintia Racing riders with a bittersweet taste. On the one hand, Karel Abraham has finished the race within the points (15th) despite having suffered some problems with the rear tire from the first third of the race. On the other hand, Tito Rabat crashed while riding in 13th position in what was being a good race from him who started 15th on the grid.
The next race will be held at Silverstone on August 23, 24 and 25.

“It is good to get a point, although it was not the best race of the season. I tried to be fast from the beginning, but the start has not been good and, although i was with a group, from the first third of the race i had problems with the rear tire. From there on, I could not do anything, just try to finish the race. We deserve the point because we have not crashed and we have managed to be on the bike until the end. ”

“It has been a weekend in which we have gone from less to more. We managed to improve the setting and made a decent classification (15th) and in the race we made a good start from where I tried to follow the leading riders. When I tried I made a couple of mistakes and when I tried to brake hard it hurt my wrist and I had to jump from the motorcycle just before reaching the wall. It’s a shame but we had a positive weekend. “

La carrera de Austria ha dejado a los pilotos del Reale Avintia Racing de MotoGP con un sabor agridulce. Por una parte, Karel Abraham ha conseguido acabar la carrera dentro de los puntos (15º) a pesar de haber subido unos problemas con el desgaste del neumatico trasero a partir del primer tercio de carrera. Por otro lado, Tito Rabat se ha ido al suelo cuando rodaba en 13ª posición en la que estaba siendo una buena carrera del piloto barcelonés que arrancaba 15º en parrilla.

La próxima carrera se celebrará en Silverstone los días 23, 24 y 25 de agosto.

“Es bueno conseguir un punto, aunque seguramente no haya sido la mejor carrera de la temporada. He intentado tirar desde el principio, pero la salida no ha sido buena y, aunque he estado con un grupo, a partir del primer tercio de la carrera he comenzado a tener problemas con el neumático trasero. A partir de ahí, no he podido hacer nada, solo intentar acabar la carrera. Nos merecemos el punto porque no nos hemos caído y hemos conseguido estar encima de la moto hasta el final.”

“Ha sido un fin de semana en el que hemos ido de menos a más. Conseguimos mejorar el setting e hicimos una clasificación decente (15º) y en carrera hemos hecho una buena salida en la que he intentado seguir a los pilotos de cabeza. Cuando lo he probado he cometido un par de errores y cuando he intentado frenar fuerte me he hecho daño en la muñeca y me he tenido que tirar de la moto justo antes de llegar al muro. Es una lástima pero hemos hecho un fin de semana positivo.”

Stefano Nepa started fifteenth thanks to the several penalties that were imposed on Saturday afternoon to riders who had riden too slow in the qualifying sessions. However, he could not stay in points positions and was overtaken as the laps passed. Nepa was also involved in an incident in which Can Öncu collided with the back of the Italian’s KTM that, unlike the Turkish, managed to stay on the bike to finish the race in 22nd position.

“It was a very positive weekend, in QP we made a great step forward but we still had a little to improve. Today the weather did not help us to try something in the warm up so he could have improved the pace. The race was very difficult due to the asphalt conditions and if they had been better we could have won some positions. Neither the team nor I surrender, see you at Silverstone!”

Stefano Nepa salía decimoquinto, favorecido por las numerosas sanciones que se impusieron el sábado por la tarde a los pilotos que habían rodado demasiado lentos en la clasificación al buscar la rueda de un piloto rápido. Sin embargo, no pudo aguantar en posiciones de puntos y fue cediendo terreno a medida que pasaban las vueltas. Nepa también se vio involucrado en un incidente en el que Can Öncu que colisionó con la parte trasera de la KTM del italiano que, a diferencia del turco, logró mantenerse sobre la moto para acabar la carrera en vigesimosegunda posición.

“Fue un fin de semana bastante positivo, en la calificación hicimos un gran paso adelante pero aún nos faltaba un poco. Hoy la meteorología no nos ayudó a probar algo en el warm up y mejorar el ritmo. La carrera fue muy difícil debido a las condiciones del asfalto y, de haber sido mejores, podríamos haber ganado algunas posiciones. Ni el equpo ni yo nos rendimos, ¡nos vemos en Silverstone!.”

The MotoE riders found the track wet so the race was declared in the wet which was a great question mark because no one had riden until then in those conditions with electric motorcycles in the Austrian race track.

Xavier Simeon made a good start staying second close to of the first while Eric Granado made a great comeback from the ninth position to lead in the second lap. Unfortunately, Granado crashed in turn three when he had already a few meters of advantage over the second rider. On the other hand, Xavier Simeon was overtaken by Héctor Garzó and rolled into third but the crash of Garzó made him return to the second position in which he finished as he got the first podium in MotoE for the Avintia Esponsorama Racing.

“I am very happy, it has been an almost perfect weekend because we have shown our speed in all conditions. The team has done a great job, I had a lot of fun and I hope to stay that competitive in Misano.”

Eric Granado | DNF

“It went quite well, he managed to go very fast at the beginning. I tried to control when I was in first position and honestly it was going very well but I had an unforgivable mistake. When I rode over the piano I could not avoid the crash, the front just locked . It’s a shame to end up like this in a race I could have won. I want to apologize to the team and I hope to change the situation in the next race in Misano.”

Los pilotos de MotoE se encontraron con la pista húmeda y de ahí que la carrera fuese declarada en mojado lo cual era gran incógnita porque nadie había rodado hasta entonces en esas condiciones con las motos eléctricas en Austria.

Xavier Simeon realizó una buena salida manteniéndose segundo a rueda del primero mientras que Eric Granado hizo una gran remontada desde la novena posición hasta llegar a liderar en la segunda vuelta. Por desgracia, Granado se iría al suelo en la curva tres cuando ya había conseguido unos metros de ventaja sobre el segundo clasificado. Por su parte Xavier Simeon se había visto superado por Hector Garzó y rodaba tercero pero la caída del propio Garzó le hizo volver a la segunda posición en la que finalizó para conseguir el primer podio en MotoE para el Avintia Esponsorama Racing.

“Estoy muy contento, ha sido un fin de semana casi perfecto porque hemos demostrado nuestra velocidad en todas las condiciones. El equipo ha hecho un gran trabajo, me he divertido muchísimo y espero poder seguir igual en Misano”.

Eric Granado | DNF

“He salido bastante bien, he podido ir muy rápido al principio. He intentado controlar cuando me he puesto primero y la verdad es que iba muy bien pero tuve un fallo imperdonable. La moto se me ha ido hacia afuera y cuando he tocado el piano no he podido evitar la caída. Es una pena acabar así en una carrera en la que podría haber ganado. Quiero pedir perdón al equipo y espero darle la vuelta a la situación en la próxima carrera en Misano”.

Stefano Nepa arrives in Austria after finishing 17th in Brno which is his best result with the Reale Avintia Arizona 77 so far. The next step that the Italian rider must make is fight to enter inside the Top15 and collect his first points in the world championship. That’s what he’ll be working on already from this weekend’s race that will be held at the Red Bull Ring, located in Spielberg (Austria).

“The Red Bull Ring is a track that I like a lot, we have to start working from the first practice, I’m sure we can do well and fight to enter inside the Top15 in Sunday’s race.”

The MotoE World Championship is back for the Austrian GP at the Spielberg circuit where the second race of the season of the new category will be held. After the good performance proved at Sachsenring a month ago when both enter the Top10, both Eric Granado and Xavier Simeón arrived in Austria with enthusiasm to face a new race weekend.

“I am quite motivated, among other things because I don’t know the Austrian circuit and I really want to start working with the team on Friday and get the bike ready for Sunday’s race. This weekend we will have one more training, what which is very important for me as I’ve never race in this track. Despite not getting the result we expected, in Germany we had a great rhythm and I am happy with the level we proved. Here I’ll try to be competitive again in the Superpole and mainly in the Race.”

“I am very motivated and looking forward to this second race. The Red Bull Ring is totally opposite to the Sachsering circuit where we raced the first race because it has many straights. How the MotoE bikes will behave here is a big question mark. In Sachsenring I could show that I am competitive with these bikes and I hope to be that fast also this weekend where the goal will be to get on the podium.”
