El Avintia Esponsorama Racing ha cerrado el Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya tras un domingo complicado para Xavi Cardelús y con André Pires finalizando en zona de puntos.

El piloto andorrano, que ha tenido un buen ritmo durante todo el fin de semana, se mostraba confiado para obtener un buen resultado. Desafortunadamente, Cardelús se ha ido al suelo en los primeros compases de la carrera.

André Pires ha podido cruzar la línea de meta en 13ª posición, consiguiendo finalizar en zona de puntos por tercera carrera consecutiva.

La cuarta cita del calendario de la Copa del MotoE se disputará dentro de tres semanas en el mítico trazado de Assen.

“Ha sido una pena y estoy muy frustrado de no haber podido completar la carrera y no haber ni si quiera podido intentarlo. Estoy pasando por un momento difícil y estoy convencido de que no puede ir a peor. Seguiremos trabajando para que todo vaya mejor en las siguientes.”

“Estoy contento de poder haber acabado la carrera, aunque a la vez frustrado porque aún no consigo ir rápido. Estamos aprendiendo e intentando modificar lo que va mal. Lo importante es seguir trabajando para que en las próximas carreras vayan cambiando las cosas. Hemos conseguido puntuar, gran trabajo del equipo que siempre me ayudan.”

Xavi Cardelús and André Pires have completed the e-Pole of the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya at the Circuit de Barcelona.

The Andorran rider, who is showing a great progression since the beginning of the season, has achieved a TOP-10 for tomorrow’s race. Cardelús closed his lap with a time of 1:51.398, just 9 tenths of a second slower than the fastest one.

André Pires had finished in 18th position. The Portuguese rider has shown an interesting improvement since the first practice session considering that he is on a new track for him with a bike he is still learning on.

Tomorrow at 16:00 will start the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya race.

“It wasn’t a bad day, we were able to improve and I’m happy about that. We did the e-Pole with some changes in the bike, but with only one lap in qualifying it’s difficult to adapt to all these changes. Anyway, tomorrow we start in 10th position, and we are not far from the front riders, so I hope to be in that group during tomorrow’s race.”

“It was a bit of a strange e-Pole. I’m still adapting, but I liked it because I felt good with the bike. It wasn’t a good time, but the important thing is that I have a good feeling with the bike. Now it’s time to get ready for the race and I want to thank the team because we found some things to improve.”

El piloto andorrano, que está mostrando una gran progresión desde el comienzo de la temporada, ha logrado un TOP-10 muy meritorio de cara a la carrera de mañana. Cardelús ha cerrado su vuelta con un tiempo de 1:51.398, a tan sólo 9 décimas del más rápido.

André Pires ha tenido que conformarse con la 18ª posición. El portugués ha mostrado una mejoría considerable desde los primeros entrenamientos teniendo en cuenta que se encuentra en una pista nueva para él con una moto de la que todavía está aprendiendo.

Mañana a las 16:00 se disputará la carrera del Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya.

“No ha sido un día malo, hemos podido mejorar y estoy contento por ello. Hemos hecho la e-Pole con algunos cambios en la moto, pero con solamente una vuelta en la clasificación es complicado adaptarse a todos estos cambios. De todas formas, mañana salimos en 10ª posición y no estamos lejos de los pilotos de delante, así que espero estar en ese grupo durante la carrera de mañana.”

“Ha sido una e-Pole un poco rara. Todavía no estoy acostumbrado, pero me ha gustado porque me he sentido bien con la moto. No ha sido un buen tiempo, pero lo importante es que tengo un buen ‘feeling’ con la moto. Ahora toca concertarme para la carrera y quiero agradecer al equipo porque hemos encontrado cosas para mejorar.”

The Avintia Esponsorama Racing riders have finished the first day of the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya after completing a great job.

Xavi Cardelús was 9th in the first free practice. In the second free practice, the Andorran rider managed to lower his morning time by almost half a second. His best lap time was 1:51.796, placing him 10th in the combined session.

André Pires was able to accumulate his first kilometers at the Circuit de Barcelona. The Portuguese showed a remarkable improvement from the first free practice to the second one, being 7 tenths of a second quicker. Finally, Pires was 18th in the combined practice, stopping the clock in 1:55.543.

Tomorrow will be the third free practice before the e-Pole of the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya.

“It wasn’t a bad start. The first session went quite well. It’s the first time with the MotoE here and we knew it wasn’t going to be perfect at the beginning, but from the first session I felt really good. In the second session we tried to improve and go in the right direction, but we still have some margin. We’ll see tomorrow if we can find what we’re missing.”

“I’m adapting to the bike. I am liking the circuit, I have improved in the second practice compared to the first one. I still have a lot of things to improve, but that’s what I’m trying to do, looking for a good feeling with the bike and a good set-up. At the end of the day we only do a few laps and I wanted to find a good feeling and try to go as fast as possible. Thank you very much to the team, they are doing a great job.”

Los pilotos del Avintia Esponsorama Racing han finalizado el primer día del Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya tras completar un gran trabajo.

Xavi Cardelús ha sido 9º en los primeros entrenamientos libres. De cara al segundo, el piloto andorrano ha conseguido rebajar su tiempo matinal en prácticamente medio segundo. Su mejor registro ha sido de 1:51.796, colocándole en 10ª posición de la combinada.

André Pires ha podido acumular sus primeros kilómetros en el Circuit de Barcelona. El portugués ha mostrado una mejoría notable del primer entrenamiento libre al segundo, siendo 7 décimas más rápido. Finalmente, Pires ha sido 18º en la combinada, parando el cronómetro en 1:55.543.

Mañana se disputará el tercer entrenamiento y posteriormente la e-Pole del Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya.

“No ha sido un mal inicio. La primera sesión ha ido bastante bien. Es la primera vez con la MotoE aquí y sabíamos que no iba a ir perfecto al principio, pero desde la primera sesión me he sentido muy bien. En la segunda sesión hemos intentado mejorar e ir en el buen camino, pero aún tenemos margen. Veremos mañana si podemos encontrar lo que nos falta.”

“Estoy adaptándome a la moto. Me está gustando el circuito, he mejorado en el segundo entreno respecto al primero. Aún tengo muchas cosas en las que mejorar, pero es lo que estoy intentando, buscando un buen ‘feeling’ con la moto y una buena configuración. Al final en un entreno damos pocas vueltas y he querido encontrar buenas sensaciones e intentar ir lo más rápido posible. Muchas gracias al equipo, están haciendo un gran trabajo.”

The Avintia Esponsorama Racing riders will compete this week in the third round of the MotoE World Cup, the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya.

For the first time, the Energica Ego Corsa will ride at the Catalan track. André Pires and Xavi Cardelús are very expectant and motivated to face the weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona and with the aim to continue getting good results.

The MotoE riders will take part in the first free practice sessions of the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya on Friday at 11:50am.

“I am very happy to be able to race in Barcelona, which for me feels like my home Grand Prix. It’s a circuit I’ve always liked and I’m looking forward to racing here again after two years. We will keep working on the same line and try to get a good result.”

“I’m ready to get back on the bike. It’s a new circuit for me and I’m looking forward to getting to know it and see how I can get on the MotoE. I’m really looking forward to the first free practice. It will be another Grand Prix where we will have to take it step by step and keep learning. I hope it will be a weekend that will give us a lot of joy.”

Los pilotos del Avintia Esponsorama Racing disputarán esta semana la tercera ronda de la Copa del Mundo de MotoE, el Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya.

Por primera vez, las Energica Ego Corsa rodarán en el trazado catalán. André Pires y Xavi Cardelús se muestran muy expectantes y motivados para afrontar el fin de semana en el Circuito de Barcelona y con el objetivo de seguir sumando buenos resultados.

Los pilotos de MotoE disputarán los primeros entrenamientos libres del Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya el viernes a las 11:50.

“Estoy muy contento de poder correr en Barcelona, que para mí es como si fuera mi gran premio de casa. Es un circuito que siempre me ha gustado y tengo muchas ganas de volver a correr aquí después de dos años. Seguiremos trabajando en la misma línea e intentar conseguir un buen resultado.”

“Estoy preparado para volver a la moto. Es un circuito nuevo para mí y estoy ansioso de conocerlo y ver como me puedo desenvolver con la MotoE. Tengo muchas ganas de que comiencen los entrenos. Será otro gran premio donde tendremos que ir paso a paso y seguir aprendiendo. Espero que sea un fin de semana que nos dé muchas alegrías.”

In the first GP of the category, André Pires finished twelfth, getting his first points of the season, Xavier Cardelús could not finish by fall, after making a great classification.

En la carrera disputada el domingo, André Pires finalizó duodécimo, consiguiendo sus primeros puntos de la temporada mientras que Xavier Cardelús no pudo acabar por caída, tras realizar una gran clasificación.

FINISH THE GP RED BULL OF SPAIN FOR THE MOTOE CATEGORY. XAVIER CARDELÚS SUFFERS A FALL WITHOUT CONSEQUENCES, ANDRÉ PIRES FINISHES 12TH

Jerez May 2, 2021 – Ends the Spanish Red Bull GP for riders in the MotoE category of the Avintia Esponsorama Racing team. Xavier Cardelús has suffered a fall on the fifth lap of the race, unfortunately after the good feelings during the weekend the Andorran rider has not been able to take any point on this race. André Pires has finished in 12th position; the Portuguese continues his adaptation to the bike in what he considers an adventure in this new category for him.
